These reviews cannot be true. The lowest temp for inside my newish LG refrigerator is 43 degrees. It will randomly in middle of night increase to 50 degrees with doors closed for six hours. I have a Govee monitor that has consistently shown the inside temp has not been below 43 degrees in days. The motor keeps making that kind of churning noise that it never made before. The MGM tech who was here for literally one whole minute said there's nothing wrong and refrigerators cycle through and regularly go up to 50 degrees. I have my control panel set at 33 degrees, which is too low but at 35, the recommended temp it wouldn't cool below 43 degrees so I changed it 36 hours ago to 33 and the temp doesn't decrease. My refrigerator stinks with rotten food but this MGM tech said food is safely stored at 50 degrees. Would you trust your families' health with this company? Would you eat chicken or fish or eggs stored at 50 degrees? It is 70 degrees on a beautiful Saturday in November- the technician clearly didn't want to work today. So, according to him, everything is fine and nothing needs repair - it's pretty fine that your refrigerator registers 50 degrees at 3 am with refrigerator door closed for six straight hours. Over an hour after tech left fridge temp is still at 42 with control panel set to 33- door hasn't been opened. Seven hours later still 42 degrees - I've texted them with photos of temps, web pages contradicting their tech's statements about food safety. ZERO response. First, the gentleman from Los Angeles, CA, seems to have posted his review to the wrong company. These ratings should be for MGM Appliance Service in Catonsville, MD, not MGM Appliance Repair in Los Angeles. Al S., if you ever review your review, please change if needed. Our refrigerator abruptly stopped cooling. All systems except the compressor functioned, so I knew the problem was the just-after-COVID compressor manufacturing. It's a known problem and there's an extended warranty of 5 years on the sealed system (the "piping") and 10 years on the compressor. To limp through until the repair we were putting 20 pounds of ice split into containers on the shelves to make the world's largest ice chest. We put towels under each container to absorb any condensation, which is important. (see below) I went through the online chat process with LG for a compressor warranty repair after discovering that a previous online chat had given me a local company that doesn't do warranty work. I received a text notice later that day that the service would be performed by MGM, and to expect a phone call within two days. MGM called the next morning and asked if they could do the repair that afternoon. Great news. Godfrey arrived in the middle of the service window, replaced the compressor and cleaned up in about 35 minutes, asking exactly how we wanted the refrigerator to be positioned in its spot. He was personable, courteous, knowledgeable, and amazingly quick. Before doing the work he complimented the use of the towels. They prevent any condensation from dripping down and getting into the lower vents, then freezing and blocking the vents when the refrigerator works again. After the repair he suggested that we remove the ice after about five hours to prevent the sensor system from getting confused. All in all, we had a great experience with MGM Appliance Service. read more

SCAM ALERT - MGM Appliance & Heating/AC Repairs Local homeowner here. I am filing a formal State License Board complaint after this company tried to charge me $3,355 to replace an HVAC compressor that wasn't broken! Stay far away from Martin Flores (213-644-3776), Josman Lagos (323-568-6049), and MGM Appliance Repair!! So long story short, my AC unit was blowing air through the vents but the air was not cold. I have an engineering degree and knowledgeable of HVACs but I've been busy and wanted to get a local technician as quick as possible to fix the issue sooner than later. Called several places and this company was the first to be available (now I know why). The technician went to the house and said everything works great except for your compressor, stating the "pipe brazing" is the reason it went out. If you know how HVACs work, you know that is a very weird statement to make. Sort of like saying your engine went out b/c of the tires, anything is possible but it's 99% not likely to be that. I told the technician that the entire unit was replaced in late 2020 and should be fully under warranty since its only been 4.5 years. They said the warranty is "only within 1 year" covered. I have a Goodman AC and sent them the Goodman website link that says "all units have a limited lifetime warranty" either 5 or 10 years. The technician argued again saying the website is wrong and said that only the "blower motor" is covered which is similar to saying the car drivetrain warranty doesn't cover the engine. That's two red flags and now I'm really concerned this guy is BSing his way to get paid and knows nothing. I end up stopping my other work to go diagnose the unit myself and guess what was the real problem? A $15 capacitor that I replaced myself. Unit now works perfectly and blowing ice cold air now. After the AC was working great, I called out the "senior technician" about whether he did a diagnosis at all and why is he trying to absurdly over charge me. He then text me threats saying he will "charge me times 10" more by taking me to court and putting a lien on my property. This entire situation is insane, 10x worst than any interaction I've ever had with any home repair servicing company! WARNING: 1.Misdiagnosed (either really incompetent or never did one) 2.Gave false warranty info (fraudulent) 3.Then tried to pocket $3,345 off of me for a $15 dollar fix (highly unethical) 4.When I called him out, he resorted to threats, bullying and intimidation (community harm) Stay FAR FAR away from Martin Flores (213-644-3776), Josman Lagos (323-568-6049), and MGM Appliance Repair!! read more

We had a serious alert occur on our LG Refrigerator via the LG ThinAp. LG Customer service contacted us and told us that our compressor had intermittent problems. LG lined up MGM Appliance to replace the compressor. Godfrey Mallya, our MGM tech, arrived at our home during a major rain wind storm. He explained the problem and the process for replacing the compressor. He was extremely careful moving our refrigerator so that he could work on it. He was extremely polite and professional. He completed the work in an hour, thoroughly cleaned the work area and refrigerator, and explained a number of features on the refrigerator. He far exceeded our expectations. read more
