Very frustrating.... If you're closed, your website certainly doesn't say so--it clearly states you're open until 4:00 PM. Nothing when calling saying your closed just to leave a message . We have a service agreement with your company, and I've left five messages since last night with absolutely no response. Our outdoor HVAC unit has been having issues. A technician came out five days ago and said the unit was rubbing against a pipe. He simply moved the unit by hand and told us everything was fine. Last night, the unit started making a loud buzzing noise that lasts about a second every five minutes. The only reason I even noticed it was because I was outside with the dogs. I have no idea how long it had been doing it because I never received an alert through my Honeywell app. Assuming 3-5 hrs because i did hear it in afternoon. The house was still cooling, but after researching the issue, it was obvious something wasn't right. I shut off the circuit breaker for 10 minutes and turned it back on, but the buzzing continued. I have now left the breaker off because I don't want to risk burning out the motor or causing even more damage. This unit is only a little over four years old. Compressors can fail, but it's certainly not something you expect this early--especially after being told just a few days ago that everything was fine. The lack of communication is just as frustrating as the mechanical issue. Paying $500 a year for a service agreement should include timely callbacks, especially when a customer may be facing equipment damage. If I don't receive a callback immediately, I'll be requesting a full refund of my $500 service agreement which we just renewed 2 weeks ago . I'm prepared to take my business to a company that actually stands behind its service. What am i paying for ? read more

Poor quality of work and poor customer service. Chesapeake installed the sump pump in my brand-new home. 15 months after purchasing the home (3 months after the builder's 1 year warranty ended) the sump pump failed. Since Chesapeake had installed the pump, I contacted them for service. After evaluating their service man informed me the pump was installed incorrectly causing it to become "air locked" which "fried" the pump. I had the pump replaced on the day of the service call since I already had quite a bit of water in the crawl space and then followed up with their new home group regarding reimbursement. Even though the initial installation was their error and the error identified by their service man, they did not take accountability for the poor-quality work and denied my reimbursement request. I would not use them again, nor would I recommend them to anyone else. read more

Extremely pleased with the recent service we received from Chesapeake. I was in immediate need of a repair and they were extremely responsive and accommodating. Kevin, their service technician, is phenomenal and goes above and beyond to make sure the job is done correctly and his customers are well informed and satisfied. .Had my heating and air conditioning installed by them in a new home. Heat pump had issues 3 years later and they said my one year warranty was up and even though I have a 10 year labor and parts warranty they weren't going to honor the labor of agreement and would not submit it. So all insight home owners beware!!! Tech was nice but didn't fix the problem the first time and from what I found out from company that I got to fix it was that they replaced the wrong part and didn't really know what the real problem was. They gave me a 2500 estimate to come back and replace many parts that didn't need replaced. Be aware of them!! read more

I purchased a new home that Chesapeake Hone Services installed the furnace and the air conditioning unit. Apparently they never checked to see if it actually worked! So it's 90+ degrees and the unit is not working! Several calls today and the tech told me he can't come out to fix the issue because it's under warranty so I have to wait til Monday for someone to fix their issue! Total BS! So the customer suffers for their incompetence to even install the unit properly! It's brand new!!! read more

My tankless water heater stopped working. The plumbers returned after what was initially such a slow leak that the source couldn't be located in the heating element and in a few days worsened to a constant leak, returned to deal with the Rinnai to get the warrantied part needed. Everyone from the service desk to the plumbers who did the work were courteous, professional, and helped me cope with the situation. I can't say enough positive about their help. Both technical know-how and personal interest in helping me are truly appreciated. read more

I don't know how they stay in business. Signed a contract with them 1.5 years ago. Called for spring service, left a message on V/M, nothing. Called next day left message in person with receptionist, nothing. Called several days later, asked for person who signed contract, was put in V/M, left message, never heard back. Had Chesapeake come to service my A/C in May 2018. Nice enough service man, he said he examined everything. (couldn't have) Put dye in the system so they could locate leaking Freon (R22). NEVER CAME BACK to check for the leak. (A/C 101). Long story short, A/C failed in August. Blower blew, Coils rusted through. If he had checked the coils in May he could have easily seen that they were leaking and rusted. This did not happen over night. Cost me $3500 for a new outdoor unit and coils and blower. I WILL NEVER RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY TO ANYONE. I will however highly recommend the company that put in my new system. read more

This company installed a toilet during a renovation. Several months after, the toilet stopped functioning. When we called them the first time, they were very responsive; however, less than a week after the repair person 'fixed' the toilet, it stopped functioning, again. This time--and the next two times we had to call them for the same issue-- they took up to two weeks to come to the house. After four visits for the same issue, they decided to replace the toilet. We had to wait for the new toilet and then the repair person arrived with the wrong toilet. We had to wait, again, for them to bring the correct toilet. The repair person arrived, installed the toilet, and later that day the toilet began to refill constantly. We have called numerous times and have left messages explaining the problem, but they refuse to return our calls. Not only are they unresponsive, I think they may be incompetent. We have had to call another plumber and we've had to pay for a service that Chesapeake should have provided. I would never recommend this company. read more
