The fried chicken at this location is amazing. I wish I got more fries. They still don't do indoor dining which is fine with me. So you order at the window. The great lady that takes your order is super nice and easy to talk too. Please check this place out.

Mustard and vinegar based bbq sauce, not my thing. They were out of ribs which sucked. Service was ok.

Some of the best fried chicken we've ever had. Ribs were awesome too, and I don't usually like mustard based sauces. Very reasonable prices.

I enjoyed the ribs and I have never liked mustard based. I enjoyed all sides I had also. I plan to go again.

We noticed some folks sitting on the bench by the line and learned they were waiting for "dressing" which they recommended we try. We ordered two ribs plates and one baked chicken plate, dressing, collards, yams, and butter beans. Since they had sold out of cornbread we defaulted to a white dinner roll. Then onto the homemade lemonade and sweet tea. Service was great! Authentic and warm to the first time customers, they obviously had regulars who were greeted lovingly by name. All the line servers answered my questions and patiently waited for our selections. We even met "Little Ed" son of the restaurant's namesake, who was so kind! The food delivered nicely spiced ribs, tender, fall-off-the-bone baked chicken and tender collard greens. The prized jewel of Ed's for us was the dressing - wow, just delicious! I mixed mine up with the butter beans for a small protein twist. We were so satisfied that we brought home the yams for a treat later. Summary: The people are friendly and the food is the definition of comfort. Stop by for the experience and don't forget to close the bathroom hallway door- lol, a nod to our youngest son aka rule follower.

They check on us now and then letting us know how long the food will take since they are short on staff and have a couple of large parties before us. We ordered their full rib in dry and the sweet potato brisket waffles. The reason why I don't give them a 5 stars is because their meat seems to be a bit too dry. The brisket on my waffle have to add a lot of maples in order to make them moisture, the good thing about the meal is the meat portion are very generous and flavorful. The town itself is very interesting as well so hope sometime in future I'll get to visit again

She did not tell me there was an up-charge for a side of ranch for my fries which I probably would not have asked for since, as you can see from my small plate I ate only about 5 fries. The atmosphere is very relaxed. The bathrooms were not very clean and our table was a bit dirty. We used sanitized napkins and they were dirty after wiping our table. The food was really good which is why I gave it 4 stars. The meat was tender and very tasty. The fries were very good as well. This place could be a five star but due the above mentioned issues with cleanliness and up charge, I could not bring myself to a five star review.

The interior had a nice, lived-in charm, and at first glance, the place seemed like it would deliver that classic Southern comfort. Unfortunately, the food was hit-or-miss, leaning more toward miss. The chopped pork BBQ had good flavor, but the texture was off--it was overly wet and mushy, almost as if it had been frozen and reheated. That's not something you want from a place selling smoked meats. The Brunswick Stew was a low point. I couldn't get past the taste--it had the unmistakable tang of something canned and past its prime. The vinegar-based slaw was just okay. It was dry, but it wasn't offensive. On a brighter note, the cornbread was genuinely enjoyable. It had more of a cake-like consistency than traditional cornbread, but it worked. Service was slow, though not due to the staff's attitude--my server happened to be on break when I was seated. Still, it was hard not to notice the table next to me (who walked in at the same time) getting their meals while I was just placing my order. Overall, the place has potential, and I appreciated the look and feel of it. But the food and service would need some fine-tuning before I'd be excited to go back.
