We walked in and were immediately seated. The restaurant smelled like cigarette smoke, but was clean. We were about the only people in there. The server was very nice; however, she told us they were out of pork dumplings only after we had ordered our drinks. We had only came for the pork and cabbage dumplings, so we just had to settle for the Teriyaki Dumplings instead. We waited about 20 minutes for our food to come out, which wasn't too terrible; however, the fried rice that came with my dumplings was probably the worst fried rice I have ever had. It didn't taste like anything at all, and it lacked a traditional fried rice taste. It was a $3 additional charge for the fried rice. The dumpling sauce was okay-- I've had better. The dumplings themselves were just average. I voiced my opinions on my food with the staff, and they comped my meal. I didn't ask them to do that, so left a tip around the price I would have paid for my meal. They were very nice and understanding, but the food just wasn't what I was looking for. I could make this meal better and cheaper at home. I checked Yelp prior to coming, but after my experience I can confidently say you can find better food for the same/similar price elsewhere. read more

We came in kind of late. Nonetheless, the servers were really nice and sat us immediately. We were the only people there. We ordered a shrimp Teriyaki and a vegetarian stir fry. Technically, they have nothing on the menu for vegetarians, but they said they could make the same dish with no meat. What that entails was basically stir fried rice with broccoli. Hardly anything else. My teriyaki dish was quite tasty. But a little sweet. Overall both are dishes were ok. The show stopper was definitely the banana dumplings. They were amazing!!! Not impressed! Good thing I ordered both shrimp cream dumplings and the spicy pork ramen. However both were disappointing! The ramen wasn't served in a bowl. The dumpling sauce was okay, but not the greatest. The dumpling sauce was spilled all over the food boxes in the bag. First time ordering from Doughboy so I ordered a sampling; Pan-Fried Pork and Cabbage Dumplings (Pot Stickers), Fried Rice, Chicken Satay Soup, and a kid's order of Chicken and Dumplings. One word: DELISH. The dumplings were juicy and fresh. They paired well with the fried rice although steamed rice was included as well. The Chicken Satay Noodle Soup has a unique flavor, but wasn't as "coconutty" as I would've liked. Still delicious! This place uses chicken thighs for maximum flavor and juiciness. And finally, the chicken and dumplings were not your traditional Southern Chicken and Dumplings but the dumpling part was. The flavor of the dumplings was delicious. The broth wasn't as thick as traditional C/D broth cause you know us Southerners like to throw a lot of flour in to thicken it up. The chicken was sparse but carrots were added for a nice texture contrast. Ordered a side of Yum Yum sauce and there wasn't much included but it was really good with the rice. I'm so glad I ordered so much! I've already had leftovers once and can get a few more meals out of the one order. I can't wait to try the Teriyaki Chicken too. read more

I just ate there and ordered the Shui Jaio Dumplings and they where the best I've ever had and I loved their dumpling sauce. The Chicken Teriyaki and friend rice is good. Much better than any of the express places around town especially for the price. The Sweet Tea is also perfection. This place is unbeatable for the price. They do need to edit their pictures online because they have changed how the plate and improved (for the better) since they first opened. read more

Wow--as others have mentioned, don't judge the restaurant by its external appearance. The restaurant is SPOTLESS. I'm talking super clean with a 100 health rating score. The food is amazing! The dumplings were so fresh and flavorful. You can tell they're made on the spot. I really enjoyed the dipping sauce with the chili oil. We ordered the steamed pork and pan fried teriyaki chicken and beef dumplings with fried rice. We ordered 20 more to go--they are that good. Our waiter was also very kind and attentive. I'm struggling with leaving this review because I honestly do not like leaving negative reviews. I often think, "maybe they just had an off day" after a bad dining experience and give the business the benefit of the doubt. I digress... On customer service: I ordered a delivery a few days ago and found myself very much looking forward to the meal because of how wonderful the woman on the phone had been. She seemed like a very nice lady and didn't rush to get me off the phone as many take-out establishments do. On food: absolutely inedible. Honestly, We ended up throwing away 80% of our food. We ordered the pork pan fried dumplings and the teriyaki chicken with fried rice. The dumplings were entirely bland and flavorless and unevenly fried. The dumpling sauce was not in the order so we were made to eat these flavorless dumplings dry. They ended up in the trash ($10 right in the trash) The teriyaki chicken tasted okay but it was nothing like the images provided on their menu. It was not hibachi style at all: it was thigh chunks (admittedly cooked tender) in a teriyaki sauce with broccoli. It wasn't particularly good but it had an okay flavor and the chicken was cooked nicely. I'd compare it to a lean-cuisine microwave meal. The fried rice, however, was disgusting. Firstly, it was soggy and wet. It was clearly made with fresh rice and not day old rice and looked as though someone had taken fresh rice from the rice cooker, spooned a touch of soy sauce (not even enough for flavor but just enough to slightly tint the rice almost grayish) and a few green peas. The fried rice was NOTHING like the menu images and was absolutely disgusting. I don't know if this restaurant just had a bad night and someone felt rushed to put together orders or what, but we will not be dining there again. I was particularly disappointed because I very, VERY rarely dine out. Reading the other two reviews on yelp makes me think my experience must not be the norm because it was truly terrible while others have praised this restaurant. *edited* The owner of this restaurant reached out to me and seemed very concerned with correcting my experience. He offered a full refund & complimentary meal to correct the issues I had. As I accepted the product & didn't see fit to request a refund at the time I simply want to thank him for reaching out and wish him luck with his business in the future. I do believe my dining experience was an exception and not the rule after seeing his apparent genuine concern for the quality of his diners' experiences. I can't say enough about this hidden treasure. I drive 40 mins for it. It's just that good! The spicy pork ramen is the perfect amount of heat. It's by far my favorite ramen around. The dumplings are crispy on the outside and filled with flavorful goodness on the inside. I've tried all of the dumplings but you should give the buffalo chicken flavor a try if you want some thing different. The fried rice is very flavorful. The Mala chicken is spicy and delicious. This was by far the BEST, most authentic Chinese food I have ever had. My fiancé and I wanted to grab a bit to eat and were in the area, totally caught our eye. My guy's mother is a Chinese immigrant and he grew up eating authentic food - he was so happy and amazed by the quality of food and how authentic it was. Definitely a MUST-GO place. Awful food. As soon as you walk in there is a big sign that says NO REFUNDS. It's because the food is gross. Dumplings came out barely warm so obviously sitting there. The rice dish I bought the meat tasted like it wasn't fresh. The white rice was boil in the bag rice not sticky/steamed rice.
