I am now a "local" and visit Chevelle's at least once a week. Burger Tuesday is the best. Their ceasar salad with chicken is enough for 2 meals. I wish they would season their batter mix for onion rings and the calamari. It's just bland. Bartenders are friendly and I have always ended up in a conversation with someone at the bar. I will be short and sweet and suggest you read my River Valley Brewery review also. Typical sports bar with street parking which is free. About 5 of us were there after a motorcycle ride about 130 PM. We were pretty much ignored and not even acknowledge when we arrived. The service was slow and waitress was cold and impersonal. We ordered burgers and they were small and fries were nothing to write home about. I asked for a cheese burger with lettuce, tomato, and mayonnaise only and got pickles, lettuce but no tomatoe or cheese. They had a list of draught beers on the table but the two I ordered they did not have. After I got one, I looked at the menu and the beer list was different. If you want a sports bar with TVs, and a sports theme, then this is the place. If you want a great burger and fries, good service and friendly atmosphere as an out of towner, I wouldn't recommend this place. I give it a 2, which includes a 1+ for draught beer. Next time I am in town I am going back to the Valley River Brewery, which is right around the corner. It doesn't have the décor but it has everything else, including great fresh burgers (8oz) and fresh cut fries. read more

Our new favorite place to go! Hubby had Malibu sandwich he said was delicious with generous meat on it. We shared the onions rings and they could have been a little more done for me but they were delicious. I had the mild Firebird chicken sandwich and it was mouth watering good. Both meals came with coleslaw and fries. Service was fantastic. Our server, Evan, I believe that was his name, is an excellent t waiter. Very personable, attentive and friendly! We haven't been into Murphy since all the masking hit. We were delighted to find Chevelle's open and accepting people who don't wear masks. They have remodeled! It looks wonderful! Karaoke is now done outside, but bands are inside on the stage.....(difference??) The food though....that's why you're here. Hubs got the NE clam chowder and pronounced it as good as home. Lots of clams, as opposed to most places using an abundance of potatoes. I got homemade mozzarella sticks. Omgosh! I have NEVER tasted better!! Light and flaky on the outside, ooeey-gooey on the inside!! We both got the special Mahi with basil pesto pasta. First boo-boo was we were given steak tacos. (They did look really good!) server did show us the order she put in. Kitchen mistake-it happens) The Mahi was cooked well, but I'm more of a flaky white fish person. Though this was seasoned and grilled well, it wasn't my favorite. Not the fault of the cook. Just my personal fussiness. However.... the basil pesto pasta was way overdone with a butter substitute. That made me sad. My hubby didn't seem to mind....he wolfed it. Haha! The saving grace....our server Mellisia (pronounced Melissa) was profusely apologetic. Took my dad and mom to lunch today and let me tell you it all went down hill fast. Kitchen service slow took about 20 minutes to get appetizers another 25 to get food but they brought it out in pieces by the time, all food was there 2 plates were cold. They gave my sons plate to him after I asked twice and said, "why do I have to be so picky", while also saying "Oh my god, she called him her kid", like he was just supposed to watch us eat, he's 4. I complained and another waitress yelled at me for asking and was so disrespectful, my dad got up and yelled, "you will not disrespect my daughter like that", she then called him a mother fucker, yelling at him from across the room. Needless to say we all lost our appetites, the little manager then tell my dad to calm down or he's calling the cops, my dad only yelled defending me against his waitress. Hands down worst Experience in my lifetime at any restaurant ever, I will never return. They claimed that they were gonna throw her out after she finishes her table I seriously doubt it but I'll never know. #chevelles sucks read more

Terrible. BUGS in burger and all over plate. Onion rings were cold. Cole slaw was disgusting. When they replaced the nasty greasy burger the managers resolution was to discount the burger half off. August 27, 2019 Our first time here while visiting with our friends Mike and Marcia who now live in Murphy. My friend Mike who has owned and operated Restaurants most of his life highly recommended this place and Mike rarely recommends ANY Restaurant ! Well, the food was delicious, the service was prompt and friendly. The atmosphere was warm and inviting and the manager was there to make sure we were enjoying our visit. I was SHOCKED to see the LOW rating for Chevelle's 66. :( We had SUCH fun the 4 times we have been there. The food has been EXCELLENT and the service really good. We haven't had ANY problems at all. They had a "Beyond Burger" for a special on their special menu. OH MY WORD! It is PLANT BASED and you wouldn't know it. It LOOKS and TASTES like a meat burger for all of us PLANT BASED DIET eaters!!! I keep asking them to KEEP it on their menu since there is NOT another place in Murphy that has this "BEYOND MEAT" on their menu. I hope my rating causes the rating to GO UP! At least give this place a chance. We did before reading all of these negative reviews. I am SO GLAD we did. We may have skipped it if we had read them. We moved to Murphy and plan on this being one of our PLACES to eat when we are off our mountain. :D read more

Excellent service and friendly staff. My family and I had a great time. Karaoke night is a must! It's a busy spot, and easily the most lively and entertaining place in town with excellent food as well, we don't mind waiting a bit longer for that food when the atmosphere is as fun as it is here. Looked at reviews on here and then google reviews. A vast difference between the two, but we came anyway. Loved the atmosphere. Our waitress was super nice and helpful. Ordered the fried pickles. The was delicious. Nice big slices and good batter. I ordered Cajun wings. They were large wings. I always order all flats and this is, so far, the only place I've been to that will separate the flats. Tasted good but I do like more seasoning than what was on there. That's just me though. I like Spicy. My gf ordered a burger. She said it was just ok. Nothing special about it. Fries were good. Waitress kept our drinks full. All-in-all, a good experience for both of us. Take your best credit card! The menu is outdated and they claim "Sorry, it costs us more today for..." Wings "Wednesday Special": $1 One dollar EACH! PLUS $1 for celery or extra (small 1 oz cup) blue cheese or ranch. Some special, NOT. Wings are very small. Steak: Very thin piece, under cooked, and over priced to $28, regardless of the menu statement of $26. You want fries with that steak? $4 more or Baked potato? $6 more! Listen, if you want repeat business, you should be updating your menu prices and NOT scare the customers with "Sorry, it's different today" by the waitress. BTW, Karaoke during dinner is not acceptable. We left immediately as they started and packed up our $200 dinner for 4 without drinks! Chevelle's came highly recommended and it was honesty good. On no less than 3 occasions did we ask the server to either shut the air conditioning or the vent as the air was blowing right on us. It was probably 40 degrees (warm for a December dinner) but I don't appreciate air conditioning blowing on me during any meal. The fried cheese was food as were the fried pickles. We ordered about 40 wings and enjoyed them. I feel the food was probably 4* for the area but didn't much appreciate watching balloons blow from the A/C. There is a foodie expression: "it's better to eat at a bar than drink at a restaurant". With that said and given the crowds this place mysteriously attracts, this dive has a real chance to completely revamp its menu and turn around the service into something that Guy Fieri would be proud of. Advice to management: fire you chef, he/she has no creativity and commitment to quality...it's all crap. Hire someone who can really put Murphy on the map! We had visited this restaurant last year before heading to the casino and the food was decent, so we tried to visit again for lunch this past Saturday. The place was pretty empty (except for the bar, which was almost full). We stood at the hostess stand for a good 5 minutes before being acknowledged. We were finally seated and given menus. After this, we didn't see a server. Another table was seated across from us and the lady who sat them offered to take their order...and then walked away without saying a word to us. We sat, ignored, for 15 minutes before deciding to take our business elsewhere. Sadly, we won't be back again. read more

Great restaurant... menu had something for everyone! I had the Chevelle Burger... delicious! My son got wings, which were huge. The three vegetarians with us found lots of choices to keep them happy... pasta, wraps, fried mushrooms and broccoli (yum!) The waiter was very helpful... said that they had recently done some remodeling and had expanded their on- tap selections and menu choices. Decor was classic cars, and extremely cute! Medium does not mean well done. Our waitress was very attentive. The person greeting everyone at the door could take lessons. Not the best not the worst. My chicken was dry and over cooked, fries were cold and hard, my daughter's grilled cheese was burned with black edges on the bread. We said something to the server and he said he noticed it but still served it!!! That he will take it off of our check. My mother's burger was good, but both of our sandwiches were mainly bread. Waiter was ok, but our drinks remained empty until a different person came to fill them. They were filled with unsweet tea instead of sweet. The pricing is high for the quality you get. 4 cheese sticks are $7.99... kids meals are $5.99 with drink and fries; but it was burned, fries cold. The prices definitely aren't "high" but the food just wasn't great. The menu is very odd. They have typical bar food, but pasta and some random items too. I have been there dozens of times (because there are not many nightlife options in the area). The food is OK (normal for bars), the prices are on the high side for the mediocre food. The service is fairly consistently poor, especially during busy times. The owner, Thea, has NO concept of customer care. She knows that I have spent thousands of dollars there over the past ten years, but when I came in with my wife for a buy-one-get-one-free lunch special and her kitchen took 90 minutes to produce our food ("we had a large party") and screwed up her order to the point where she could not eat it and we had no time left to do it over, what do you think she did? She removed the "free" item from our bill and expected us to pay for the other one! If you want to come for the entertainment, eat elsewhere first. read more

Food is all from Sysco . I had three gin and tonics and the glass being extremely small and filled to the brim with ice. Impossible to even get one shot of gin in each drink. You have to continually get the bartenders attention. Their wine selector selection is horrendous as is the beer selection. Typical service for a small town. Came here on a Sunday not very busy. Waited over 20 minutes for our drinks that are non alcoholic. Took our order an appetizer and a 20 piece wing. I'm a local and have been here multiple times so this isn't just based on a one time experience. Chevelles problem is that they are not consistent with their quality, you may have a perfect meal or you may not. I wish this wasn't true but it is. Another weird thing is that they have this teen clothing store in the middle of the restruant sittting area?! I guess they thought that would bring in youth to buy clothes? But honestly I've never seen one person even looking in that awkward little thing. So with the food being inconsistent and the prices being a bit high it's hard to recommend this cool local place when you really are just taking a chance on having a good meal. read more

Overprice and unimaginative. My wife and I stopped in here on our way through town and were impressed by the menu selections only to be sorely disappointed by the taste of our food. I had the grilled duck breast and my wife had a chicken special. My duck was grilled perfectly but the sauce was runny and tasted nothing like what was promised, same for my wife. The presentation was identical for both dishes. My wife's chicken was overcooked. All in all, we had a dinner worth about $10 a head for $50 with tip. What a bad taste left left in our mouth. So let me tell you about the god sent French toast slices I had from this place. It's almost like Jesus himself cooked my breakfast. Unbelievable favor the Gordon Ramsey himself would cry with every bite. This was followed with the softest eggs I've ever had.
