Pro's - 1) clean bathrooms 2) friendly attendant Cons - 1) expensive gas 2) tiny and poorly stocked convenience store 3) no prices on ANYTHING in the store. not on drinks, munchies, nothing. No stickers on the items and no signs on the shelves. It makes me wonder if they just make the prices up as they go along. The only reason I stopped here was because my gas light had been on for almost 20 miles, I'd taken the wrong exit (not the one next to this station) and wandered around lost in the boonies for a while. The first station I Yelped had all the gas pumps removed and I just didn't think I had enough gas left to make it the mile and a half to the (much cheaper and cleaner) Arco station. He said "yes, but it's too close to 5:00, you'll have to come back tomorrow". Really?? We brought tire for emergency repair and they said we had to have it on the rim, which was at skips tire. Skips won't do a plug and ordered the wrong tires. With 15 minutes until 5 pm we rushed back to skips and got the rim in and then back to Chevron with moments to spare. We ran in and the guy just looked and us and said come back Monday. We said we were just here and it is an emergency. He just looked and me and said no he was done for the day. Don't go here. Ever. They are rude and left a woman stranded. read more

These guys are dishonest. I took my car in for smog and I told them that there was a service light on and they said they would look into it. When I came back to get my car they said that they could not test the car because of the light and that I had to pay them for the smog test fee even though they did not do one (they should have known this as soon as I disclosed the service light and not charged me a fee). They then said they could repair the car and the test would be reperformed (even though no test had been done originally). I took the car to my regular repair vendor (who I trust to do major repair service on my car) and once it was fixed I asked these guys to perform the test that they originally charged me for. They said sure but they would have to charge me again (even though they did not do the test originally). These are the most dishonest car service people I have ever worked with. The restrooms were dirty. No toilet paper in the men's restroom. I asked to use the air and the toothless old guy was very rude with me. I said I had a flat tire and he said I needed to buy something first. I was already parked at the air station. I said I was going to fill up once there was air in my tire. He said he needed to see the receipt first. He told to to read the sign. This guy is an incompetent idiot. I left and drove across the street, filled my tank, bought sodas and put air in my tire. I knew this place had shit reviews and way over charges but I was in need of a oil change and they're across from my work. They tried to sell me BS I didnt ask for by just adding it to the bill, then they didnt screw the oil cap back on. Fortunately I noticed 2 days later because it was smoking and smelled very bad. I was refunded only what I spent on replacement oil and cap. This could have started a fire or seriously damage my car in other ways (I guess I get to find out over the next week) So I would have really appreciated a full refund. Very shading business. They tried to tell me my I had a major issue with my car and that it was dangerous to drive. I thought it was strange so I got a second opinion. Lucky I did the next mechanic told me there was nothing wrong with my car. Just incase I dropped into the dealer and they couldn't find the problem these guys were talking about and its not like a dealership to not want the $$$. Next there gas. On average I get an extra 2 miles per gallon on Chevron gas, with my Hemi (I have done the sums) but the gas from this place is horrible. It had my engine coughing and gasping. Not to mention I get a lot less than 15 miles around town when I use there gas... I can't strongly suggest staying well away from this establishment. Bad Juju here. read more

Dear Yelp Journal, Living close by to Hwy 85 and Hwy101, gas stations always seem to get business! Due to the economy, gas prices are always fluctuating everyday, but thankfully here at this Chevron, the service has been consistent. Whenever, I stop to fuel my car, the attendant always greets me with a "Hello" and asks how I'm doing. I'm appreciative of the little things like that. I believe his name was Ken, and I always leave with a smile whenever I see him. The shop sells grocery store products such as milk and eggs, and meats as well, for hungry travelers on the go. The shelves are stocked and the place is fairly clean, especially the restrooms! So if your looking for gas to fuel your car, then stop by grab a drink, maybe some gum and drive (^_^) read more

My husband just brought my Jeep in to get an oil change and the man that helped him SCOTT was extremely rude! Very impatient and unkind. Did not want to answer any questions. My husband also took his truck there to get a smog and they do not do a pass or free retest. If there is any question if your vehicle will pass or not, we do not suggest going there. There are plenty of other places in the area that offer this service. It's such a bummer because this shop is so close and convenient for us. The other people who work there seem to be nicer. I was literally just getting ready to write a rave review because Steve was so kind and a pleasure to work with. It seems like the repair won't take long, which is also great. However, he just called me with the price. I'm getting charged $165 just for the diagnostics. This may have been a much lengthier procedure than I'm understanding, but I think it's mostly just hooking it up to the computer to see why the engine light is on. Apparently Auto Zone does this for free? I don't doubt that he did some extra checking, but $165? I'll update when I get my car back. Update: I got my car back. It runs great and I got a detailed description of what was done. I'm going to keep it at 2 stars because although it was fast and very friendly service, I do think I was charged significantly more than I would have if I had gone elsewhere. This place is the worst mechanic place I've even been! Got a flat, drove there to fix. The mechanic immediately said the tire is not fixable. All he can do is to help me to replace it with my spare. For that, I need to go to talk to his manager and get a service ticket. To get that service ticket, took longer time than change the spare tire. Then, I need to go to the cashier to pay $25 for the service - changing the tire! Gee! I've been many mechanics for flat fix, range for $10-$20 which is cheaper than this! I went this morning 7:35am to put air in my tire, I wasn't sure if I was doing the right thing because the air pressure was not working right. I asked for help to the chevron guy employee who was smoking a cigarette outside, he said that he was busy and he couldn't help me with. Beside leaving the inside alone with no employees, he is outside Sitting around the corner and it stated that he can't help anyone because he's busy smoking a cigarette; it is just unbelievable and upsetting. there's not kindness, empathy and no employees. There are many mixed reviews for this station on Yelp. My experience with our Toyota truck, Honda car and 1960 corvette over the last 15 years is very positive. I went to specialty shops for the corvette and I pick these guys over any of the those as well as working on our foreign cars. They are technically good enough to be certified by all auto companies and you almost always see a very high end classic specialty job being done. On the other side you will pay for this service. They charge top end rates and may not hesitate to hit you with a larger bill than you expect so ensure to make this clear if you are controlling your money. However, the only shop I will use as long a they are open. read more

Came here for a quick smog check. I walked in and a gentleman who wasn't very gentle after all asked me what I was there for. I told him that I was there to get a smog check. He snatched the paper out of my hand aggressively and walked away. The gentleman at the desk asked me for my keys and asked me where my car was. I handed it to him and pointed to the side of the store. They got it done fairly quick but the service could have been nicer. The gentleman at the desk was nice. The other guy could have been a little nicer by not treating me like I'm bothering him. The price was quite high. The mechanic named Scott is so Rude! No manners, no customer service. The owner Dave defends his worker instead of apologizing. Before the mechanic came to pick up my van in the handicap parking I was sitting in my van , the mechanic / Scott said "Get out" ! He said it twice. I got out and started to walk around the building. I was killing time since told 1.5 hrs to finish my van. I tried to walk around the building and there was no sign that you cannot walk on the left side. Scott yelled and screamed "Get out!" Instead of simply talking in a nice way. The sign where I was said "Do not block"! If you want to be treated well go someplace else. read more

This place is a rip off ! Here is some of the incidents over the past year: -Filled up my gas tank (capacity 20 gallons) with 20.5 gallons of gas.I complained and the attendent said there is nothing preventing me from putting in more gas that my gas tank hold. -Went in for a SMOG check and failed.After paying $159 for a "diagnostic" it magiacally passed with no repairs. -Friend of mine took it for a fluid changes. They charged him $299 for coolant flush, $89 for oil and $279 for automatic transmission. After the service, we checked the oil and filter and it was clearly not changed. And the attendent refused to check out that the truck had dirty oil and a old filter saying that we drove it off (gone for 15 mintues) and it is common to get dirty after driving it. read more

BEWARE of this place!!! I was towed here by AAA because it was a AAA approved shop (sounds familiar?) and the driver recommended the mechanic. The driver (Wayne) mentioned that as a AAA member there would be "all kinds of discounts and free perks." The next day, Steve calls stating that the BMW alternator would be close to $1000 for the part alone! Labor would be around $400! Hesitantly (and stupidly) I agreed to the service... otherwise I would have to have the car towed to my own mechanic in Sunnyvale ($200). Hindsight is 20/20... I should have towed it. Estimates from my mechanic was $650 and a BMW performance shop quote $850 out the door!!!! Bottom line I was ripped off by having to pay about $1320 (with a $33 AAA discount). I've reported the incident to AAA and they are reviewing the complaint. I know I won't get any money back, but I hope this place will lose their AAA authorized service station status... eventually. read more

My Mom was aware that her car's check engine light was on. Without knowing that if you take a car with a check engine light on, that it would not pass smog, she took her car to this place. These shady jerks knew from the beginning that her car would not pass but proceeded to perform the smog anyway. Yes, take an old lady's money you scum bags! They even told my Mom that she has a coolant leak and advised her to get it fixed right then and there. Long story short, there was no coolant leak. We have an expert mechanic in the family but he was too busy and my Mom didn't want to wait. Bottom line is the tech should have been honest in the beginning and not smog her car knowing that it wouldn't pass when the check engine light was already on. DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE! SHADY! I never usually write reviews but i brought my car in for a smog test today (I bought it from the dealership 2 years ago) and it came with an aftermarket air intake (which IS CARB certified) and the man inspecting it failed it on visual, and even though i argued that it was carb certified regardless of not having an air box he wouldn't budge. So i went home and called the manufacturer of the intake and they said it's totally fine for Cali smog tests and is 100% carb certified and they sent me an executive order for it as well and he didn't even read and didnt budge. Went to 2 places star certified smog tests after and both spots said there's nothing wrong with is when they looked at the CARB sticker and the paperwork for it. I do not recommend going here for car related test and services..Horrible experience. read more

I took my vehicle here to repair the fuel injector and the mechanic didnt know how to reset the cmputer and the problem was never fixed. It still idles. This is the worst place ever they are so rude and i would never recommend going here. I paid 120 for a brake and lamp inspection which I though was good because I've called around and other places were 140-150. So I took it here and I got a long list of stuff that was wrong with my truck license plate bulbs, marker lights which i agree with then...it said that my whole tail light had to be changed because it had a small crack in it! Which is BS but whatever and then the last thing was my rear axle sealer was leaking which was a big job to replace. They said if I get everything done there then they won't charge me to recheck everything but if I went somewhere else I would have to pay $60 I didn't even dare ask them how much they would charge for the job I just took the truck home and found someone else to fix what had to be done. Fast forward a couple weeks when I finally took the truck back with everything done i told them that everything was ready to be reinspected and they said it was going to be 120 not the 60 that we agreed on because i took too long to get back his excuse was that he can get in trouble because he let the truck pass and that anything could have happened in a couple weeks so at this point I was irritated because I already paid the mechanic a lot and now I have to pay the 120 AGAIN He finally called me and told me that my truck was done and he said ok got good to go except... your front tire is bald ...that part was my fault because I forgot to change it since there were so much on the list to do. So I got I done the same day and went the next morning I was not taking any chances this time I went in and theguys name was Garrett he said ok so you are here to check your front tire and I said yes he said ok give me your keys and we'll call you I said I'm in a bit of a hurry you can't just go outside and take a look at it real quick and sign me off and he very rudely said no I can't I'm not licensed to check that I was thinking wtf to check if a tire is bald? So i gave him my keys and waited outside next thing you know 10 min later good ol garret comes out of nowhere and starts inspecting a cars tires that was next to mine!! He finished inspecting the other car and starts walking away and I said hey why can't you check my tire and he said sorry sir I can't do that. Wtf was he fucking with me!???? Still waiting by my car he calls me and said that my truck was inspected and ready to go. I was like how in the hell no one ever came by my car except when Garrett came out to look at the other car which he claimed he wasn't certified to do but whatever I was done with their bullshit got my paperwork and left. He said we needed to change all 4 tires, change the break pads, get new head lights because their was moisture inside, also we had to get a new light for the license plate. Then he offered to fix it all for $500 !!!! I'm sorry but F that! We got ripped off ! I told my fiance to not go there but OH WELL LESSON LEARNED! I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANY ONE. This review is for the Chevron station at the corner of Sta Teresa and Cottle. If you have a flat and need a repair, I cannot recommend this place at all. My 18 year old daughter had a nail in her tire and I told her to swing by since this station is close to our house. Figured it would take $20-30 to repair a tire. The mechanic told her he could not find the wheel nut (it was in the glove compartment) and since she did not know what that meant and she was alone, she just let him "fix her car." To inflate all four tires and provide her with a wheel nut acorn (according to the invoice, he charged for 4 at $4.95 apiece) and fix the flat it ended up costing her $140. The labor was $120, certainly wish I made this much. THEY ARE TAKING ADVANTAGE OF PEOPLE WHO DON'T KNOW A LOT ABOUT CARS! STAY AWAY! read more

This station is perfectly located near the might drag of Cottle Road/Santa Teresa Blvd and accessible to the freeway. Friendly staff morning, noon, and late night. I can't really speak about their auto service, but their in store cashiers are definitely helpful. Clean bathrooms are a plus at any gas station oasis. Came for a smog. First car, bigger older gentleman lazily walks to my car. Gets angry and throws his hands up because he didn't know how to unlock the car. Alarm going off -- he's pissed. $70 Decided to give them a second chance and brought my second vehicle that I recently just purchased. Pops the hood and says nothing. Runs my car, then fails the 'visual inspection' due to the intake arm having tape on it -- even though it works. Emissions and functionality test passed with flying colors. Still charged $70. Service advisor Offers to repair it, but he had to order it first for $90 (not including labor.) i declined Then bought it online for $19 and did it myself within 3 mins. Will never come here again. You visually inspected it first and you knew you were going to fail it-but still ran the car? Most smog places will not charge if it fails. That's integrity. Times are rough I get it but robbing people isn't going to help you in the long run. You keep these fancy cars, caked up oil jugs and non running big blocks around upfront for display to make it look like youre doing honest work. But there's no honesty there. Not able to register car online with the DMV and walking in to the DMV to pay, I found out the car needed a smog check. Wanting to wrap the expired registration saga, I yelped the nearest smog check. Arriving at Santa Teresa Chevron it was lunchtime so I was told 30-40 minutes. The young guy in the inside garage booth was super friendly & the cashier inside was cleaning door handles(& was continuously cleaning counter and the inside of the store during my visit--appreciated as these are COVID-19 times!) So OK, I was going to wait. Walking across the street to go get something to eat, noticed my car was being pulled into the garage. Eyeing nothing desirable to eat, I came back to the garage and my car was done 10 min. later. The whole process took about 20 min. & I got $5 off for a yelp check in. Think the young guy took pity on this 50 something lady on the hottest day of the year--now that's serving the customer. read more
