Only realized my car was overdue for renewal and smog check due to being notified while handling other DMV online services. Guy that answered was super friendly and knowledgable, Said I didn't need it but would be helpful if I had it. Accepted walk-ins, closes at 5 pm on a Saturday so very convenient. Was serviced right away. Walked to the nearby shopping plaza and got some Happy Lemon while we waited, and by the time we were back 20 minutes later, the car was done. Even had an online coupon for $39.75 plus an extra $2 off for being a AAA member. Came out to $46, with certificate....and new to me, there's a gratuity optional screen now. And they were cool, so $5 it was.

The lot was quite crowded when I came in on a weekday morning around 9:30am. When I entered the front, a gentleman quickly gave me a clipboard with a form to fill out. Quoted price is $60 for a smog check. Though, they also have coupons on their website and if you mention the Yelp special ($40 instead!). Competitive pricing compared to other shops in the area. When I came in, there were a few other folks waiting already and filling out forms. I probably waited around 20 minutes or so before it was my car's turn. The smog check itself was pretty quick. 5-10 minutes max. There's free wifi available while you wait in the waiting area. Super nice workers. Quick and reliable work done. Thank you Smoguys!

Their shop was located in a very busy auto center filled with many other car repair, body shops and one other smog tester but I was able to find parking right in front. Check-in went quickly after filling out the paperwork, handing over my keys and the DMV paperwork. There was a functional waiting room with about half a dozen chairs and a TV. However, I didn't spend much time inside as my car was completed in around 10 minutes. Test results were transmitted to the DMV and I completed my registration without any issues later that afternoon. Highly recommended for their pricing and quick turnaround. Ten years and counting.

Worst part is they use towels to "slap" the middle of the windshield and roof to dry it rather than using the step ladders they have sitting there for this very purpose. This experience felt shady from the very beginning. I brought my Jeep Wrangler in for a smog…read morecheck--I've owned it since 2012. After running the vehicle for about 10 minutes, the technician approached me with his arm extended, holding a credit card reader. He didn't say a word or explain the results--just stood there waiting for payment. That alone made it clear something wasn't right. I paid the fee and then asked how the smog check went. He told me the Jeep passed all emissions tests but that he was going to fail it based on a visual inspection, claiming I had added aftermarket parts. I explained that I've owned the Jeep for over 14 years, have never made any modifications, and it has never failed a smog check before. Despite that, he still failed the vehicle based on the visual inspection and said I'd need to take it to a DMV smog referee to dispute the claim, and possibly replace parts to get it approved. He also mentioned that I could be a police officer and that he had to "err on the side of caution," so he flags anything he possibly can during inspections to protect himself. Overall, he came across as paranoid, behaved shady, and most likely has had trouble with the police for illegal smog practices. If you already have a reliable smog tech that you have taken your car to in the past and it passed smog you would be better off going there.
