Costco is usually a pleasant experience…read more I mean how bad can it really be right? You go in, grab your stuff at a great price, pay and leave. So what makes the difference between a good and bad experience? The employees! We had the pleasure and displeasure of getting checked out by Brian and Sam. As I was placing the items on the belt, one item accidentally hit Brian's hand as it toppled onto his side and he gave me the dirtiest look ever! Like dude, relax and don't be such a dick! Sam on the other hand was so pleasant! He was playing with the kids, helped us put our stuff on the belt and was courteous and friendly the whole time. It doesn't stop there! We ordered a half and half pizza before going in, they said, "it'll be ready in 20 minutes" so we think ok, it'll be ready by the time we come out. WRONG! We finish our shopping, head to the food court, yet I'm met with another asshole with an attitude who says "it'll be ready in 20 ..." like WHAT?! So then I asked him to give me whatever is ready and then comes another dirty look acting like I'm asking him to reinvent the wheel! I've been to this Costco many times and this has been the worst experience so far! What did you guys do to your employees today, @Costco?!?

Perhaps, there will be a day when I can just go to get one hotdog and a coke for $1.50; that is if I don't get sucked into the warehouses front door!!

Costco is a national treasure. It is a wonderful place to shop and have a great time. This location…read moreis less crowded than many other Costco stores and benefits from a relatively low 7.25% sales tax on non-grocery items. Grocery items are not taxed in California, where this store is located. This Costco also features a gas station that, like most Costco locations, sells high-quality gasoline at prices that are often around 10% lower than nearby stations. In addition, the warehouse includes an optometry center, a pharmacy, an outdoor food court, and a hearing center. Eye exams and hearing exams are very reasonably priced, especially when compared to the cost of using many commercial insurance plans for the same services. Some of the classic bargains you'll find here include an 18-inch pizza for $9.95, the famous $1.50 hot dog and drink combo, a 30-roll package of Kirkland Signature toilet paper for about $24 (380 sheets per roll), a 12-roll package of Kirkland Signature two-ply paper towels for about $23.60 (160 sheets per roll), and a 3-pound whole rotisserie chicken for just $5. From about 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., you can also enjoy complimentary food samples throughout the store, which can easily serve as a light lunch. If you want to avoid the crowds, visit in the morning or evening. These are typically the least busy times for both the warehouse and the gas station. You can choose between self-checkout, where you scan your own items, or traditional cashier-assisted checkout.

I explained clearly and respectfully that LED lights are generally expected to last much longer under normal use, and that this did not seem like unreasonable wear and tear. What made the experience more frustrating was how strict and dismissive the interaction felt. Instead of focusing on the actual issue, I was questioned about where I do most of my Costco shopping, which felt irrelevant and unnecessary. I stood my ground because I was not trying to abuse the return policy. I was simply asking for fair consideration based on the nature of the product and how lightly it had been used. I have shopped at Costco for years and have not had this kind of experience before. I understand policies matter, but customer service and reasonable judgment matter too. This interaction did not reflect the level of service I usually associate with Costco.
