I love a good margarita, so we stopped in for happy hour and I not only enjoyed my margarita but found my new favorite appetizer!!! I am obsessed with the Shrimp & Sweet Corn Tamalito! It is the best mix of sweet and spicy!! You have got to try it!!! From what I here this app isn't available at all locations so make sure when you are in Annapolis you check it out! Our margaritas were delish as well as the other food we ordered. Great portions, food was seasoned well..great service! After coming here pretty regularly over the past year, I have to give 5 stars. I met my sister and some friends here when I was back in town and couldn't have had a better experience! The manager, Charlie, was absolutely outstanding. The entire staff was friendly and attentive. Update October 2017: No one ever called me back to even address the issue. Pretty sad business when the manager couldn't be bothered to call me back because it was holiday season. I have not returned once since the food poisoning. Original Review: I've been coming here for years. I have honestly never had a bad meal here up until now. This is about my experience at Chevys on 12/20/2016 I ended up with severe food poisoning and was in the emergency room for 2 days. I still now have issues with my health and on my third round of antibiotics and pain medication because of this.. I am certain it was from Chevys because I hadn't eaten before or after my meal there for 12 or more hours and I was in the hospital the next morning. The worst part of this experience besides being sick on Christmas day and having more medical tests done than I can explain is that I called and spoke to a manager on 12/23/16 and was told that they would look into it and call me back. I have never received a phone call. I wasn't offered a refund on my dinner or even just a refund for the food that made myself and my husband sick. I was also told the the lettuce wash they use was just changed and I personally thought that may have been what made me sick. My other complaint is much smaller. We were sat behind a wall just outside of our servers section. She forgot we were there multiple times, and forgot multiple things I asked for. I don't blame her because we were completely out of the way. I don't know if this was a one time experience, because I've never had this problem before. However I won't be going back. I hope that they take this issue seriously and I am filing a complaint with the health department. read more

The chips and salsa get five stars. The rest of the menu is your standard chain-type mexican food. The chipotle-chicken enchiladas are fairly enjoyable, and if I'm really in the mood to be a glutton I'll order the flautas with jalapeno jelly...mmmm..... The atmosphere is okay, but it's really kid-friendly so that's what you're going to get for the most part. Last year, I went to Chevys at Arundel Mills and that place was insanely busy. So this year, I figured I'd look for another Chevys that hopefully won't be quite as busy so I wouldn't have as much trouble parking and getting a table. Chevys in Annapolis seemed to fit the bill. Anyway, I thought the food wasn't bad at all, compared to other Tex-Mex chain restaurants. Prices were on the high side but not much higher than On The Border, Don Pablos, etc. Service at this location was very efficient and attentive. The biggest problem at this location though was the parking area. None of the lamp posts were working so the parking lot was very dark. If not corrected, this issue will worsen towards the winter when the sun sets earlier. read more

For my wife's 40th birthday we wanted to do something that people could customize to their liking. Based on the advice from a friend I contacted Chevy's and was not disappointed. We got the half steak half chicken fajitas and we ordered for 20 people. We got A LOT of food. Chevy's also loaned us all of the warming dishes for keeping the food warm during the party. We heard comments all through the night about how good the food was. Including the several containers of assorted beans, San Antonio rice, grilled veggies. All of the food was delicious and no one was disappointed. The catering coordinator Marie was on top of the project from start to finish. She was in constant contact with me by email, insuring the number of people had not changed and that we were completely satisfied. Actually very impressed with our experience, especially from a chain! When we walked in, employees made sure to ask how we were doing. We had a great waiter, Jordan. He gave us enough time to browse the menu and for me to pick out a drink. I picked the pineapple mojito and it was pretty good! I made a combo meal- enchiladas and mini chimichanga. I love Mexican food, I've had it in Mexico, California etc. Chevys is NOT Mexican food, it's TexMex, there is a HUGE difference. The wait staff is great (Otis) and bartenders are better (Jacqueline / Mel). I get the same thing every time I come here (up to 3 times a week) -- Grande Chicken Chimichanga, Double Beans Ala-Chara, No Rice, Diablo inside and out. Luckily with the above mentioned names, I never have to say it, they know it. Anyway, Chevys is good. P.S.: You like spicy? I normally don't write reviews for chains, but in this case they made an attempt to help us out when we were trying to watch a game, so I'll go ahead. My friend is a die-hard Eagles fan, and had wanted to meet up at another bar in Annapolis for the game. However, when we arrived they had only 1 TV with the game we wanted (out of about a million TVs in this place), and refused to change any of them. Apparently they have a Steelers fan club that meets there now, so they took up half the place themselves. No thank you. So I called around to places that I thought might have the game but may not be too crowded, and Chevy's said they could put the game on for us in the cantina. When we arrived, the hostess didn't seem to know what I was talking about, but told us we could go into the cantina and get situation. When I went in, the server also didn't know what I was talking about but told us to pick any table and she'd put the game on whatever TV we selected. So we sat down, only to have her come back and say "I can't put it on that one, the Redskins fans are watching it." Okaaaayyyyy..........so we chose another TV in the opposite corner, which worked fine. But then she kind of just forgot about us. We had to flag her down to get drinks, flag her down again for food, but after that I think she remembered we were there because she came back for refills. As for the food, meh....it's a chain Mexican place. It's not the best, it's not the worst. But the drinks were cold, the food was OK, and we got to see my friend's game. read more

Please read carefully!!! The entire menu is utter crap! HOWEVER! The grande chicken chimi is the absolute best chicken chimi anywhere! If you are reading this review and you've hated Chevy's in the past, please, go back and order the chicken chimi! For the longest time I always went and ordered random stuff from the menu and have never liked the place. One day someone told me that I just had to try their chicken chimi. I was just about to give up on the place but I gave it a try and I never ordered anything else again! I order the chicken chimi without the queso or anything on it, and I eat all my beans and rice and a bite or two of my chimi and take the rest home. Believe me, that chicken chimi reheated in the oven at home is even BETTER than it is at the restaurant. The chips and salsa are made fresh and are very very tasty. Some days the salsa is fire hot and sometimes it's comically mild, but either way its delicious! Especially if you are a Texan stuck up north, this place is the closest you will find to "tex-mex". But please please please, don't judge this place on it's entire menu, the chicken chimi is the only thing I have EVER liked from here! My wife and infant son were kicked out of the high top area of this restaurant for no apparent reason. When we talked to the impatient and argumentative manager she mumbled something about lawyers and sat us at a low rickety table in the middle of the walkway between the kitchen and bar. When we tried to order specials they told us they were only available at the high tops! The area they had just kicked us out the of!! Of course we didn't order any food but it breaks my heart because weve been going to this restaurant for years, celebrated birthdays here, stop to buy salsa and chips to go and too many happy hours to count. Since our son was born we always stand in the high top area because we wear him in a carrier and can't sit. This new policy is a good way to run off anyone with a baby. The manager was out to win an argument rather than keep a large and dedicated family of customers. I hadn't been to Chevy's in years and I am sorry to say it wasn't an experience that compels me to look forward to going again. Service was meh. She seemed distracted. My drink was forgotten until after my meal was brought and she never asked if I wanted another. My margarita was watered down. The food was very oversalted. And frankly it was very overpriced for a chain and one with lackluster service and food for that matter. Not all Chevy's Fresh Mex are created equal, by this (see bottom), the Chevy's in Annapolis is by far the best of any of the other locations. Lets start by saying, this place gets busy, if you are visiting you might want to beat the rush. But have no fear, because they have excellent happy hour prices and specials. I frequent this location, and I have my favorite menu items. The Cinco, any of the choose your own, the burrito and chimichanga...all great selections if you have an appetite. First off, you are going to get a bowl of warm fresh chips and house made salsa. I typically don't waste time with seating, I go straight to the bar area, get my seat and begin eating.. They have a small selection of draft beers, but they do have my favorite, Pacifico on tap! but if you want the scoop, the also have Dos Equis and Dos Equis dark, a Sam Adams seasonal, Budlight and Coors light. Order a margarita, I was sitting at the bar, and I over heard a patron ask specifically for the bartender named "Justin", she said he knew she was picky and he made it just like she liked it. Talk about good service, Justin, is the bartender you want! Certainly knows the menu, bar, and his customers. He asked if I had been there before, and I told him I had my regular items I like, but he made a suggestion I wasn't aware of, and I was more than happy with my order...not to mention he kept my glass full. Just another observation, the couple to left of me, ordered something he had never had before, and mentioned he didnt like it, without question, Justin, offered a replacement, got him taken care of, I overheard the patron say he was impressed. So, if you are in Annapolis,and you are in the mood for Tex Mex and you do not want to chance a bad meal, go to Chevy's. Its worth the trip, the prices are perfect, and drinks are cold. Pros: Customer service is spot on. atmosphere and decor is spot on. Food is fast and satisfying. Prices are low. Read other reviews, you will see highlights on staff members. Cons: Get there before the crowd. Navigating to the restaurant can be tricky depending on where you come from. Parking can be limited once busy. Hope this helps you decide to give this place a try. As for my initial comment, The Chevy's at Arundel Mills Mall is not as good as this location. We've been here many times before. I took the kids for a night out, planning to use some coupons received due to a horrible experience at the Chevy's Time Square. We were having a great time - very attentive service, good food, and the kids and I were just saying how much better this experience was compared to the NYC one when.... ....a cockroach walked across our booth! Eww!!!! Our server saw the bug and told me one minute. Without question, the manager came by informing us that our meal was taken care of and we skedaddled! The manager worked hard to salvage the experience and our service was top notch. Not sure if we'll ever eat here again though... By far, our go to place for Mex food in Maryland. I cook myself and grew up in the southwest. The flavors are always on point and their drinks are great. The prices are reasonable and the food is quality. They make all the tortillas in house and you can watch them as well. Our most recent visit we asked for a booth and were sat all the way in the corner next to a large Birthday party of about 25. When our server (man, wish that I could remember his name but he was the smallest guy in the building) came over he was very polite, cheerful and he seemed to enjoy his job. We ordered our app of tableside guacamole to go with the complimentary fresh chips and salsa. It was then that I realized his entire section was that party and another table behind us. Me and my fiance noticed the party was rather, needy and we thought our service would suffer, it did not. He was an outstanding server and our 4 meat Fajitas and a pick 4 combo platter came out amazing! The food was just fantastic again and we were thrilled. Now, my fiance was eavesdropping on a conversation one of the bussboys was having with our server as they cleaned up the party, and he asked him how much the party left. He said $16. Sixteen dollars on what had to be $300+ ...I couldn't believe it. When he came back to our table, me being in the business myself, I asked him and he confirmed it and still had a smile on his face and stayed in high spirits even refilling our drinks and grabbing me another beer. He brought our check, $70.76. Fantastic for our dinner/movie date. We ended up telling him that he was a fantastic server and that he should stay in his good mood. I've been going to this establishment for a long time but tonight might have been the last time. Their food and wait staff are still good but it's their manager tonight that challenged me for not wearing a stupid mask. I have been going to a lot of places since this stupid mandate was reinstated and most places were cool about it or they just didn't care anymore but There were seven places that challenged me on this and I am choosing to not patronize these places again. They should have stood against this stupid mandate like the restaurants did against the executive's order to shutdown restaurants. Shameful. I have been in Chevys a few times this month and no problem but this general manager decided to put his Restaurant's reputation on the line with me on the last night of this mandate. And I was just walking to the bar but he wasn't budging. Well I'm not budging anymore.
