This was my favorite place to eat at Arundel Mills. The Mexican food was good. This includes the guacamole casero which they make right at your table. It used to be an all around fun place to eat, plain and simple. A complaint of mine is that they used to have a tortilla machine that would spit out pipin' hot FRESH tortillas, and they would bring them to your table instead of nachos. They quit doing that, so shame on them. ***Review update: I'll still eat here on occasion... I have been to Chevys many times. It is located in the mall. The service was good and the place was not crowded. I came here on a Tuesday night. The chips and salsa were good. The waitress is friendly. I ordered a combination plate. You get a lot of food for the money! I left stuffed!! My wife tried the house margarita with a coronita ( I believe it was called a Mexican Bulldog ). She thoroughly enjoyed it, I liked it as well. The salsa chicken taco was tasty but needed something creamy, so I spread queso dip on it, if you're a sour cream person then that would have done it justice too. The carnita tamale was good as well and the carnita was flavorful and cooked well. Honestly, the pico de gallo could have used a little more flavor. The salsa would have been good on the taco as well. All in all, the value for the quantity of food was great. $10.99 for everything. This isn't the ideal location for a large group. My favorite Tex-Mex joint since I was a teenager. I know it's not authentic, and I know it's not gourmet. But that's exactly what makes it good. The tacos are always on point, the chips and roasted red pepper salsa are the best, and the rice and beans are always awesome. It's a chain so it's consistent. This includes the service and decor. Chain restaurant music and decorations, and standard service you'd expect from any regular chain restaurant. The location is alright, given the circumstances. 10 years ago I would have told you this is the place to be on a Friday or Saturday evening, since you can have a great dinner and walk around the mall that it's connected to afterwards. But now that the mall is pretty run down, I wouldn't suggest that. If you can find a standalone Chevy's, that would be just as good. read more

Didn't know they would have sour cream drizzle on top, so I removed that after the pic. Rice was undercooked and bland in general. Been here twice. The first time was in November, when my friend celebrated her birthday and the second one(due to my recommendation) was a few weeks ago with family, right before going to the movies. Not sure where to begin... I heard great things about this place and I was extremely disappointed with my experience. I'm sure the food could be great, when the service doesn't ruin your entire meal. We ordered two orders of guacamole, which unfortunately was a huge inconvenience for our server. After waiting an extensive period of time for the tray to come out to have the guacamole made, our server left the ingredients at our table, and walked away to tend to another table, where she used their credit card machine for a transaction, touched tables, menus, and their receipts, all while wearing the gloves she planned to make our guacamole with. We requested she change these before making our guac and she rolled her eyes and told us that "all she did was touch a machine". She ripped her dirty gloves off and threw them on our table, where they stayed the remainder of the meal. At this point our food was served, before our guac was even finished being madas our appetizer. The rest of the meal was basically spent waiting to leave. We advised the manager of how our experience was and they compensated by doing absolutely nothing. Overall, I would recommend this restaurant if you enjoy eating pretty good food, made with low quality food safety standards, and service that makes you feel unwelcome. Update: customer service reached out to me and apologized. They have invited me back and I hope to be able to update my review with a better experience at my next visit read more

While Chevys doesn't taste a lot like authentic Mexican food (if you've lived in CA, the Southwest or been to Mexico, you know this) this is one of the better Chevys I've been to and over the years through traveling I've been to many. This location offers great service (which isn't the case at most), delivers huge portions (which is common at all) and offers value (yes, with the amount of food they dish out, no one can complain). Basically, if you're in the mood for chain Mexican, this is your spot. It brings an upbeat, fun atmosphere, solid food and suits every party, whether a date, solo or with a large group. One thing, the tableside guacamole is way better than the small side (although $6 more). If you have a few people go for the larger portion. You can taste the difference. Also, check out the combinations. While I wasn't a fan of the chicken flautas (they were undercooked), the chicken and carnitas (pork) soft tacos were good. You can try three different things and are given a massive amount of rice and beans (too much, in fact). Either way, there's something on the combo, you'll enjoy. read more

For dinner, I ordered the fish tacos with a double side of rice since I don't eat beans. I appreciated that our waitress let me substitute since most places I've visited won't. The complimentary chips & salsa were ok, but the salsa was SO bland. Our dishes came out quickly. Immediately upon tasting my rice, I discovered it was bland and undercooked. My husband asked our waitress for our rice to be replaced, which our waitress accommodated for us. The replacement rice was also undercooked, but we were done at this point. The fish tacos were ok, not the best or the worst I've had by any means. I attended the happy hour at Chevy's in Arundel Mills Thursday evening. The service was great. They have the best salsa and chips that I have ever had. The chips are thin and light not thick. The salsa is just right not too spicy but still has a kick. I also had the wings with barbecue sauce. They were cooked just right for only $5. Our experience at Chevys was nothing but top notch. Nice staff that's attentive and accommodating. Kristal waited on us and made our dinner personal. The food was fast and prepared as described.
