I own my home in Lawrenceville since 2009. It was built in 1973. I had an initial home inspection prior to purchase and was told fireplace was functional. As a single home owner I had an inspection/cleaning of said fireplace prior to a fire. It was deemed unusable. It would be from 3,000- 12,000 to repair due to the age of the house. The guys from Chewy's came out to clean and inspect our fireplace. They arrived on time, were friendly, and did a good job of cleaning the Chimney. Afterwards they outlined what they felt were issues with the fireplace itself, along with recommending we replace wood and drip pan outside because it was older and may have issues down the road. They wanted us to agree to thousands of $ in repairs on the spot, but instead I asked them to send me a estimate with costs for each repair outlined. They said they would email me the quote the next day. Before they left I confirmed my email, which they didn't have, and a couple weeks later we still haven't heard back. The biggest issue we had was that the guy that went up on the roof placed his ladder against the gutter and dented in a large section. For these reasons feel it was only a 3 star experience. read more

After I saw Chewy's van driving through town, I texted him immediately. He responded with 15 minutes and arranged to come by the next day. Chewy gave me a fair estimate to replace the rain pan and all rotten trim and to paint the trim and siding on the chase. I paid a nominal deposit for the fabrication of a new rain pain and Chewy scheduled the job for 12 days out. On the scheduled day, Chewy and his team showed up on time and got right to work. He takes pride in his company and work and came himself to make sure the job got done right! Today he and one of his men, came for a couple of things - one to work on my electric fireplace and the other to blow out the dryer vents. He was very thorough and even found that the dryer vent installer had not followed code and had left a filter that was supposed to be removed upon installation that actually causes fire hazards!
