I'm a recent California transplant (aka food snob) and love finding good foods that I miss from home, one being hummus. Get the Hummus Salad and you'll be glad you did. All these fresh veggies, great hummus and pita bread. One is enough for two. What more do you want? Their fish sandwich is very good, with a pile of fish that is well seasoned, nice and hot, and not overcooked. I'm always skeptical about chicken fingers, no matter where I purchase them. These were fresh, hot, big and juicy, and again, very nicely seasoned, not too spicy. Other places they are dry, stringy, not tasty, and hard to swallow! The service is always on point. Employees seem to enjoy working here. There is a lot of seating, stools and booths at this bright and airy location. Why not five stars, you say? Take a look at this lettuce that was on my prior purchase. It looks pretty bad and whoever placed it on the sandwich didn't care at all. It's as if they didn't think I would notice. A bit disappointed today. The Gyro Pitas were sub-par. Meat was cut into bite-sized pieces, which meant that they fell out of the pita, rather than staying put for those many bite of the sandwich. The assembly was not conducive to melding the various components together for eating. Meat on bottom, onions and red stuff then glop of Tzatziki sauce on top. Result: 20% of the sandwich falls immediately into the bottom of the serving bag. Your consumption is a bite of meat and bread, followed by a bite of Tzatziki and onions, followed by a bite of meat, etc. And it is messy. Flavor is not much. Did enjoy the onion rings side, with ranch, good ranch dressing. Liked the responsive servers who refilled beverages and brought more ranch. Will go elsewhere for Gyros. read more

Wow what can I say about this showmars location. I walked in today for lunch it was packed and I was in and out in under 5 minutes. Managers always on duty helping directing and making sure everything is going smoothly- to go orders packed perfectly- asking if we need silverware or condiments to go - food is always fresh. Never has messed up my order. I order (almost always) a BLT salad and a cup of cactus chili. Always consistent and good service regardless if I'm doing take out or dine in. I don't know what happened; this Showmar's location used to be excellent. Within the last 2 years every time I'm so disappointed with the food. This time takes the cake though. Got it takeout but it was clear nothing was hot even in the car ride home. The first clearly had been cooked hours ago and sat under a heat lamp. The popcorn shrimp were half the size of a dime. I don't even know where you find shrimp this small they were the size of a pinkie finger nail, like salad shrimp!!! To top it off this entree cost me over $11?! My entire order was cold and soggy too, it was awful! My kids ended up eating frozen nuggets we had at home. A total waste of $40 and will be last time eating at this Showmar's location. read more

I am not a cafeteria style fast food eater but I tend to check out place like this due to my family quarterly or semi-annual craving. My husband was introduced to this place by colleagues while working in Ballantyne corporate. I always pack lunch for him and his team would always admire his food but they would go out themselves daily with multiple days a week having them return with a fish sandwich that my husband said look amazing and he planned to try. We ended up here one day for his trial of that said fish sandwich and he enjoyed it very much. Needless to say we returned about 3 times for that fish sandwich for my husband and our littles Enjoy the Pita grill cheese ans the Mac and cheese. I had the Beyond Meat Gyro which I am not a fan of, the onion rings are very iffy as well. Of the 4 visits we only had true tasty and crisp ones once, other visits the onion rings were doughy and weird tasting with no crisp. It would be great if their Vegan option was actually tasty. Ooh well, I don't necessarily have to eat here. I just come when my husband is driving and decides to grab a fish sandwich. The staff is nice and very attentive which is a plus. Food was good, but it is just dirty inside. Built up dirt in bathroom, around bus station, and everything was sticky. If you look up fixtures are covered in dust. Been stopping in for years, quality has dropped and the place is due for a deep clean. Hope the kitchen is cleaner than dinning area, outside had trash and needs some tlo. read more

We decided to go to Showmar's for fish tonight. We ordered the flounder platter and Alaskan fish platter, and a hummus salad . We asked the difference between the fish platters and was told The Alaskan fish was a thicker fish but also mild. Service was quick and friendly. The place was clean and neat. My flounder was delicious in a light non greasy coating. The Alaskan fish seemed to have a different coating for the batter, was a bit chewier than the flounder. We enjoyed the flounder better. I did not want fries so a salad was easily substituted . Hush puppies and coleslaw came with the fish dinners and both were good. Coleslaw nice and creamy and hush puppies very tasty. Our Mediterranean salad with hummus was okay. I have had better hummus elsewhere. Very lemony in taste with a slightly gritty mouth feel. The pita bread with it, soft and fresh. Food was served attractively with good portions, prices reasonable. Staff attentive and checked our booth several times if we needed anything . Showmar's has a kids menu and offers a variety of food such as burgers, salads, soups, chili, chicken tenders , gyros, daily specials ,desserts as well as vegetarian choices. Don't frequent this location as much as some of the others, however like all the rest, the food was excellent as was a service. There's one thing that makes Showmars such a great choice - it's consistency. All seem to be well managed, friendly and clean. In a way, it's in niche all its own, it is truly is "good food fast". I was up in Indian Land for work and there is a Showmars so I dropped in and got a Chicken Santorini Pita with Cactus Chili, a Mandarin drink and baklava for dessert. It was fairly good , the portions were on point for the price. It's just lunch has gotten so expensive lately as I spent about $14. The restaurant is always clean and the staff is always perky. We decided to eat Showmars after church due to it being close. Showmars is a great restaurant, if you want great food fast. It has traditional burgers, fries, hotdogs, but it also has salmon and gyro platters as well. However despite the wide range of food, everything is good and affordable. The restaurant appeared new due to the cleanliness of the restaurant. The restaurant was spotless, which was great due to the amount of people in the place. After ordering at the desk, we were given a number and told that we could sit anywhere. We sat at a booth, but it appeared that the booth was extremely far from the table and the table was nailed to the wall. That is one of the downsides. The waitress brought our food shortly after. The staff either refills your drinks or you can refill them on your own, which is a plus. I ordered the children's hot dog with onion rings. The children's portion was just as a big as the adult's but way less in value. I added coleslaw and ketchup and there was not an extra charge. The onion rings had the perfect amount of crunch which made this meal delicious. I'll definitely be returning soon. read more

Usually pretty good and decent service. The online ordering can be a pain. I choose Cherry Soda every order and half the time it rings in as Cherry Pepsi. Last time I picked up the girl at the window told me I must be doing something wrong as it only happens to me. Not sure what's happened to Showmars. I feel its a corporate shift away from quality. Service and call in orders seems to be fine and working well. The food? Showmars has raised it's prices, dramatically. Fish and Shrimp dinner is now $12.40! It was like $7.95. We didn't get any more food than usual and frankly, it didn't taste good. Nothing in the container was crispy and the shrimp is now so salty I couldn't eat it. 2 dinners of fish and shrimp platters, with nothing extra not even a drink wad $28.00 including tax. WTH Showmars? I wouldn't mind if it was a delicious meal, but the food, at least the fish and shrimp has taken a downturn. I won't be back..... read more

I come here for lunch because they are really quick with their service and bringing your food out. All the servers are very nice. I usually go with the pita burgers or the salad. But there's great variety and always a daily lunch special. Highly recommended. Also they have updated their decor which is a pleasant touch. read more

You know what? For what it is, this Showmars is top notch. A five star review doesn't = a five star restaurant experience of course, but if you want casual fast food in a clean environment, at a reasonable price and with polite staff, Showmars is the place to get it. The menu is interesting, a combination of casual Greek food, burgers and seafood. I've tried several of the Greek menu items, as well as the fish sandwich and the Calabash shrimp plate. Everything I've had has been top notch, but if I have to ding them for anything - and it's not enough to take off a star - they don't carry malt vinegar in the restaurant which seems a shame because that's all it would take for them to have a killer fish and chips meal! My favorites are the crinkle cut fries, the hush puppies, their cole slaw, tzatziki and Greek salad. Every order I get fills at least one or two of those cravings. Table runners are spot-on to refill drinks or get you anything you need. The only thing is I feel guilty about not leaving a cash tip, since there's no room to tip on a card at the register, and I go cashless almost 100% of the time. One of these days I'll pack a wad of singles into the console of my car so I can leave the table runners a buck or so for their fast and friendly service. As it is, I often sit close enough to the drink machine to grab my own refills and I self-buss my own mess. It's the former waitress in me coming out. Good for singles, couples, families, lunch or dinner. Not a romantic joint, but doesn't try to pretend it is. You can even phone in an order and pick it up at their drive-thru window.
