This is a nice southern BBQ place. Has plenty of parking. Staff were nice. Place was clean. Had the Mac and cheese brisket balls. They were okay lacked flavor. The sweet tea alcoholic beverage was good and strong. The habanero barbecue wings or tasty in a highly recommend those the mac & cheese was very thick. The coleslaw was not a favorite of mine. It was sweet yet tangy with tons of vinegar and the baked beans were good. The chicken tenders were crispy and definitely use some seasoning and buttermilk, which made them nice. Stopped and grabbed a brisket sandwich and baked beans via the drive thru. It was absolutely amazing! I have tried many of the local places, and Jim n' Nick's by far is better than all of them. We got Togo brisket, ribs, and sides. The meat was insanely salty and dry/old. Inedible. We just had to throw it away. Spent around $50 for two people and couldn't eat over half the foot. I stopped by the drive thru several monaths ago and ordered onion rings and unsweetened tea. They are to D I E for!! The right amount of seasoning is incredible. Been going to this Jim n Nicks for 9yrs and today was the first time I can honestly I may not go back. Our service was good. But that was it. My order of Bar-B-Q Salad seemed old. The salad greens were old or had been pre-refrigerated, the tomatoes were soft and barely any croutons and they were smaller compared to the last 8 years, virtually no grated cheddar cheese, no bacon and a couple sliced almonds?! The complimentary cheddar rolls were not cooked enough and we got a 4 tiny ones in a big white bowl. The entire food presentation for each dish was not good at all. All food was just slapped on the plate very sloppily and sparsely. The pie we got in the photo looked like it was just plopped on there and was melted and prehandled. I questioned our server to make sure it was ok. So... not sure what's going with this location but I am thinking the food presentation quality and quantity has gone down a lot, cook training, and short cuts are being taken... perhaps new management? Right before writing this review, I realized this is a chain BBQ restaurant and that makes sense. We have been trying to find the best BBQ in the area so we decided to give this place a try. We started with the smoked wings which were huge and smoked just the way I like them. The gold mustard sauce lacked flavor but the dunk into ranch and blue cheese made up for it. I got the BBQ salad and my husband got a combo platter. The salad was a good size with plenty of pulled pork on top. I ate about half and took the rest home. My husband's brisket was a little dry, bland and smothered in a sauce that very closely resembled ketchup but I think it was supposed to be BBQ sauce? They do not have hushpuppies, instead they serve cheese biscuits. They also do not offer different BBQ sauces for your meats. Me and my family(4 people total) arrived to this Jim and Nicks location at 9:32 PM, and were seated at 9:34 PM. We ordered drinks and the waitress told us everything they didn't have before telling us what they did have. From the time we walked in we felt rushed. We received the classic Cheese Biscuits that everybody loves. However, we didn't love our biscuits because they were cold and obviously they were not as enjoyable as they generally would be. We were then told after the fact that the last biscuits that were made fresh were made at 8:30 PM and that the location closed in 15 minutes. We received our food about 10 minutes later and there was no issues with our main courses. For Jim and Nick's slogan to be "We Give You Our Best" we sadly did not receive Jim and Nicks Best. Wife is not as much of a fan as I am because she thinks their "smoke" is too heavy. I find it just fine. Took a cousin and his wife for dinner. Crowded, as usual, so had to wait. We got seated in the middle tables, surrounded by booths. Very cold, so were moved to a booth that cut the breezy cold coming in. The open tables are colder in the winter, not so bad in the summers. Nice menu for food with lots of variety of ways to consume BBQ. Can even get BBQ on a salad. I went for brisket, which you can get fatty, lean or a combo. I had the lean. Cousin did the ribs and was really happy. His very slender wife played with a salad and snacked off of our other plates. My wife did the chopped pork sandwich and did not complain. The bar offers about 2 dozen of bourbons, served as shots. You can get them with ice if you like. My cousin liked bourbon, so in he went, heads first, and you could not beat the smiles on his face. He was a happy cowboy for sure. If you are looking to a bourbon to make your favorite, come on down and march through a couple of shots and take notes. They have awesome food no doubt. I've never had an issue while dining in. Its always been a pleasant experience. However their delivery takeout has issues. I've been going to this place since it opened. I've ordered delivery several times over the years. The past couple of years they have been frequent missing items. First it was just a side here or there. Then a couple of times my Smoked Sausage add-on was missing. I just ate the cost and didn't complain. Last night my order was missing an entire half chicken. Sides arrived fine. I finally complain and their answer is the call Door Dash. I contact door dash and the order in not listed on my account since I ordered from the site. So lesson learned. Did not like where I was seated- asked to be changed- the seater never even heard me. Waiter was clueless. 1) Said chili would not be ready until 15 or 20 minutes later. Said that would be fine. Never got it. 2) Never refilled biscuit basket or water. 3) Asked for brisket- 1/2 marbled and 1/2 lean- got only the marbled. 4) He was going to check to see if he could get me brisket that was charred- never did. 5) Was supposed to be 8 oz of meat- lucky if it was 4 oz. We enjoy Jim n Nics monthly via the drive through and inside. Food is always great and consistent. The Southern Salad is my favorite with chicken. Healthy and a great value. Of course their BBQ meats and deserts are wonderful as well. During Covid they did cut back on the wines available and we miss those. Stopped in with my wife while we were in the area. The place looks pretty standard for a chain BBQ place; manufactured corporate charm. We walked in and were seated right away in a booth by the server. The place was about half full, most were seated in the outdoor seating area as the weather was perfect for outdoor dining. We ordered a couple of beers from their limited draft menu. I had a NoDa Hop Drop & Roll, and my wife had a Sierra Nevada Hazy Little Thing. The beers were not as cold as I would have expected, served in standard shaker pint glasses, and did not taste terribly fresh. Once I finished my first beer I sat for much of our time there with an empty glass as our server passed us by several times before I finally broke down and flagged her down to ask for another beer. The food was decent at best, I had the quarter chicken (leg & thigh), fries, and brisket chili. I tried to get onion rings, but they had run out... How do you run out of onion rings at 3:00 on a Saturday! This leads me to believe they used frozen onion rings or they could have made another order fresh. The chicken was actually quite good, very smoky, tender, juicy, and flavorful. The fries were just ok, and the brisket chili was very good. My wife got the pulled chicken sandwich and mac-n-cheese. The chicken was good, but the mac-n-cheese was lackluster and uninspired. The service was hit or miss. Our server was very friendly, but distracted and inattentive. Overall, the visit was disappointing. Not terrible, but not great. If you want some good BBQ I would skip Jim'N Nick's. read more

Best food ever, the pulled chicken is off the chain. I ordered the 2 meat plate pulled chicken, pork ribs and for the sides I got the collard greens and beans. They say the brisket is good too but I never tried them and I'm sure they are good. I also had the 6 wings try the white bbq sauce it's very good. My mother ordered the pulled pork platter, but somehow, the waiter heard pork for everyone and I don't eat pork. When the food came out I noticed it looked a lot like my mother's plate, but thought it may have been mostly meat from a thigh or leg, but after the 2nd bite, I asked the waiter if it was chicken and he informed me it was pork (internal scream). I then asked him to please take it back and bring out the chicken. The chicken had more of a hickory smoked flavor, but I didn't care for the sandwich. It reminded me of ham and not chicken. I prefer Midwood Smokehouse on Central. They use more breast meat and it still has the smoked flavor without tasting like ham. Clearly, I don't like meat from legs or thighs, lol. The mac and cheese was pretty good for a bbq joint, but not better than McKoy's. Smokehouse and Saloon. If I return, I'd stick with the chicken tenders, although those were super small. My dining mate and I had lunch here with 2 friends. When asked what I wanted to drink, no hot tea or decaf coffee. Ok, I could deal with that. But when I wanted to order bbq chicken, we were told no chicken available today, only fried chicken tenders. So I ordered smoked turkey breast as did my dining mate. The turkey was dry and salty and we both didn't eat much of it. The sides of coleslaw, and green beans average. What a disappointment. My friend ordered salad with chicken tenders and he liked it.
