Took my little sister to CHEZ ANN SALON for a highlight and cut. She needed a root touch up and some foils in the back. Probably only needed a partial highlight but instead was charged a full highlight, which I wouldn't have cared if it was done properly! Her stylist was Blair, level 1 stylist. It took her almost 4 hours in total to do a highlight and wash/blow dry. Didn't have time to cut it because it took her so long. She made her hair extremely streaky. You can even tell the size of her brush that she used for bleach. When I spoke to the manager Paige she said "something went wrong and Blair is a good stylist" our experience says differently. Have given this place many chances and there is always issues. Done wasting almost 400 on shitty supercut results. Did get a full refund because of how bad it was. Please be cautious when going to CHEZ ANN SALON!! They don't care about their clients, just money! That's why they have a revolving door of new inexperienced stylists. read more

I went to school with John Paul and saw that he recently returned to Buffalo and is working at Chez Ann. So I decided to make an appointment. Staff was all very friendly. I haven't been there in awhile and before my last appointment I always had good results from them. There seems to be a lot of new stylists and maybe they aren't as experienced. I asked for balayage and a money piece in front. The balayage was fine but she fried the front of my hair so bad that it broke and now I have to live with these frizzy broken pieces in the front until they grow back. For the money I paid ($300), it should be perfect. Not sure if it's the product or the stylist, but I'm probably not going back. read more

I recently started going to Chez Ann for my nails. I love the Dazzle Dry polish and learned through a Google search that they do this service. If you don't know about Dazzle Dry, you should Google it because it's a great alternative to gel! For the past two months I've been seeing Miranda. Miranda is an extremely talented nail technician who is also very sweet and kind. I just adore getting services done by her. She is going out on maternity leave, so I'll be seeing someone else, but I'm confident I'll have a great experience based on all of the previous experiences I've had at Chez An. I had scheduled a pedicure and when I arrived I was taken back by an assistant and she said she is going set up to help the nail technician that was finishing up with another client...ok not a problem, things happen or services take longer than expected. I sat there for over 30 minutes and not one person said anything or came by to check on me to let me know what was happening. I just sat there in the chair soaking in lukewarm water and no one to be found. Once the nail tech arrived, I felt rushed so she could get to her next client. Ann, the owner said the staff is always right and without any input from me told me to find another salon. In addition, I was blocked by my tech on FB. I can only comment on manicures and pedicures here because that's all i've come in for.. but they're great and I've been back many times! From the time you walk in and they offer you a drink (usually...) to when you leave feeling great about your new mani.. it's a great experience overall. I love this place, so clean and classy. They redid the nail area recently so it's bigger and can accommodate more people. I much prefer it now to before when you were sort of stuck behind the hairstylists while getting your nails done. Now theres a big long table in the front for manicures and a nice little area for pedicures. Still only 4 at a time for pedicures, but it doesn't matter to me because it's usually just my mom and I :) The staff are all wonderful and so friendly. It's so sweet they'll even remember the conversation you had months before. I'll come in and they'll say, "So how was that trip you went on?!" or something like that where it makes you feel like you're more than just a customer. They'll help pick a color or style for your nails. They're very professional, you can tell they pay close attention to every detail- but still somehow get you in and out pretty quickly! It's impressive. My mom and I agree, our gel manicures last longer here than almost any other place we've been to (and i can't even count how many places i've gotten manicures!). They only complaint I would have is that the prices are a little high. They sometimes have specials, the express pedicure is reasonable. The gel nails are a little more than a lot of smaller nail salons, but I think you're definitely paying for quality and cleanliness. And they're great about fixing any problems right away at no charge. One suggestion.. I would definitely make an appointment ahead of time. Especially if you're with more than one person, or if it's a busy time of year (holidays, spring break, etc.). I've never had a problem getting in at least close to the time I was hoping for. She was so so nice and welcoming. She took her time to explain everything from A-Z. I have thick, coarse and curly hair, which are hard to manage. But I left the salon with an amazing haircut and nice blow-out. I was under the impression that they use generous amount of products on your hair and the quality is top-notch ! The smell of those products are just divine. You can purchase most of the products inside. I purchased something by Lynzy's recommendation and can't wait to use it. I've gone for hair and massages and haven't been disappointed in either service! The first time I went, Meredith did my hair. She did a great job, so when I was ready to go back, I called and requested her. She wasn't available, though, so I asked for an appointment with someone else who was good with color. I was booked with James. I actually preferred having James do my hair, but he works in the City location now, so I go there for hair now. I booked a Swedish massage with Michelle about two months ago. She told me she could feel the tightness in my shoulders and neck and recommended I book a deep tissue massage if I wanted to come back. I didn't feel at all pushed or forced into booking a second appointment. I took it as a helpful recommendation, merely as I'm sure it was intended. About two weeks later, I booked a deep tissue massage with Michelle and I have to say it was the best massage I've ever had. I had a shoulder/neck injury several years ago and have had many people try to work out the pain. I've even been to a couple of chiropractors for help. Nobody has really been able to get anywhere with it. Well, until Michelle that is. It's almost as if Michelle can feel exactly what I'm feeling. She knows exactly how much pressure to use and exactly what my body can tolerate. We talk about what I've been feeling before the massage begins and she is open to my feedback during the massage. After my second massage, Michelle gave me a 10% off coupon for the price of the massage. She told me she realized it was a little bit more than the Swedish massage and wanted to help me cover that cost. Since those first two massages, I've been back at least once a week (sometimes twice a week). Each time, I walk away feeling like a million bucks! I actually fell asleep during my most recent deep tissue massage. The spa/salon offers online booking. They call to remind you of your appointments. The staff is friendly and outgoing, not at all uppity or "big city" attitude. I always feel very comfortable during my appointments, and I appreciate their Text Messaging service, which alerts me to specials and savings at the spa. This is incredibly hard to write but I feel I need to let the people know my experience. I will start off by saying, I have been coming to this salon for over 15 years now, for various services like pedicures, manicures, hair cuts and coloring and have always had a pleasant 5 star experience. Today I made an appointment to get a trim, it had been 6 months since I last got my haircut, so it was time! I was so thrilled to get an appointment right away. when I arrived I was greeted, checked in, temperature taken and asked to wait. My appointment was for 11am, I was taken back around 11:20a, no biggie. My appointment was with Emma. I shared pictures and videos of how I had my hair last to illustrate what I wanted her to cut my hair like, which was basically a dramatic angled bob. We chatted a bit and She was excited to get started. We went back to the sinks, did the ol wash and condition, then headed back to the chair. Emma started with trimming up my undercut :) Next she worked on the angled bob, this is where I think things went wrong instead of creating a nice diagonal line with my cut, it was turning in just a regular bob, curled under my chin. I was so embarrassed to say that i did not like it but I couldn't leave the salon looking like that. I mentioned to her as politely as possible that I didn't like the cut. I showed the pics and videos again and She worked on it some more, taking more length off... it was too far gone by this point to get the cut I had come in for As she was frantically working, Emma reprimanded me basically for being her booking. She said that I should have specifically asked for someone with skills in short hair to do my cut. At this point I felt terrible, I was literally shaking and wanted to cry. I felt so bad for not knowing that and apologized profusely. I had explained to her this was only my second time getting a short hair cut (it had always been super long down to my butt) and was never told that was the protocol in salons. I left there extremely sad, embarrassed and confused as to what just happened. And to top it off I hate my haircut so much, so so much.... Ann, the owner, did attempt to make the cut better, but it is just awful and not what I wanted. I am so upset with the way it looks. And yes, I was still asked to pay $54 for the cut. The silver lining in this: Thank you Emma for teaching me to ask for specialists going forward. Definitely will not be coming back here any time soon, if at all. Ladies (and gentlemen, too) go to salons to feel better about themselves, not worse, and I feel terrible. Worst salon experience I've ever had. read more

I requested "natural" extensions done but was charged 250$. Their site says I should have been charged a lesser charge. I was livid and filled out a form to appeal the price but I received a call back a few days later from the manager trying to justify the extra costs. The other one star posts speaks for themselves. Clearly they are scammers and I would never recommend anyone to go to this salon unless you want to be overcharged for services. I have never ever been treated this way. I am in my hometown for a wedding and booked and express 30min. pedicure I left the salon after 45mins. With no polish on my nails. When I checked out and told the front desk that I was unhappy with the service I didn't actually receive they said "no problem, we will just charge you for a polish change. This review is for an express pedicure ONLY... I change my tune from my original review... On Friday, my Mom decided to treat my sister and I to an express pedicure at Chez Ann! I had a pedicure here about 10 years ago and enjoyed it. Friday was semi-enjoyable as well, though the salon has gotten older and doesn't seem like it's as well kept up as it once was. I've always liked this salon though. I've had the best highlights of my life from here after all. Anywho, Ashley did an okay job on my feet. It kind of grossed me out that her long dark hairs were all over the tub and eventually all over my feet. I would think this would be a quick, easy clean up and it would have made me feel more comfortable and clean. And I would hope she would want to clean her station as well. Long hairs all over the place totally grosses me out. Definitely one of the reasons I keep my hair SHORT. Since I had this pedi on Friday late afternoon, my polish has chipped already! 3 days of polish?? That doesn't seem right. I felt some sharp edge on my big toe nail and it got caught on a blanket and ripped off. I thought it was my nail at first and then I realized that it was the polish! Super disappointing! Plus now that I removed my polish, I see a few little scabbed nicks around my cuticles. WTF?! No wonder they hurt! Krista worked on my sister's feet and she hasn't had any complaints. Her polish is still on. For $28, I'm disappointed that my polish has already chipped. I've had better pedicures elsewhere and the polish has lasted for weeks! The entire process took about 30 minutes, so that was a plus. But the "chair" was hard to step up into and as a larger woman it was kind of embarrassing to have to crawl up into the seat. Overall a mediocre visit and disappointing results just a few days later. I wouldn't get a pedi here again but I would possibly get my hair done if I came back. Seems like maybe the owners are putting too many of their eggs in the downtown salon basket and might be neglecting the suburban salon. read more

This review is for pedicure services only, I've never gotten my hair done or any other salon services, although on my last visit it looks like they are expanding the spa area into next door, which will be nice! I have gotten pedicures here for at least 5 years, although I do not go regularly (usually just before special occasions or vacation) but I've been pleased every single time. They have several pedicure options but I usually go for the regular pedicure vs. the express. At $46 its a little pricier than some places, but every nail technician I've ever had has done a fabulous job. My husband goes occasionally with me for a pedicure and they do a great job with men as well. The pedicure area is very comfortable, private, and relaxing, and they take their time to do everything right. My pedicures usually last several weeks. I came here for a pedicure and I was super excited because it's my first time at a nice luxury spa! Everything was clean and sanitized, but the service was subpar. My technician was a bit rough and she seemed to be in a hurry. She barely spent any time filing my nails. When it came to painting, she also seemed to be in a hurry. My toes came out very streaky. I would not go here if you have an expensive haircut. The staff is undertrained. They stuck me with someone who had clearly no idea how to cut short hair. I now have a crooked part on my head whereas, I was able to part my hair on both sides up until now. The right side is about an inch shorter than my left. My whole head is 2+ inches shorter than I asked for. When I told her I was unhappy with it, she took thinning shears to the back of my head and now I have a bald spot in the back. They then wanted to charge me $186. I'm left with something I am completely disgusted with and can do nothing about it until it grows back. DO NOT GO HERE. read more

Oh my gosh! Where do I even begin? This salon is simply the best! Ok, so I have had a whole lot of bad cuts and colors throughout my life so it is not easy to get me to be comfortable with a stylist. Chez Ann not only gave me the only haircut I have ever liked (loved), but they have also done a beautiful job of correcting the mistakes of other salons. Most recently, I went in to fix a cut and color that someone else did. The stylist I had knew exactly what my vision for my hair was and executed it perfectly. I'm not sure why I went to a different salon in the first place but I never will again! Side bar- while I was at CA some of the stylists were taking sort of a "continuing education" class right in the salon out of the way of customers and stylists. The gel I had on took a bit to get off, and as a result the job was very rushed, and I left with a dented, bumpy, dull manicure that looked like it was at least a week old when I left the salon.
