Best pizza i started eating there in the early 80's moved away but dropped in during a visit

Always come here and have a great experience have been coming for years on end. Always get the unlimited pasta meal. But The last 2 times I've gone the service has been absolutely awful. This most recent time today this waitress I've never had before wouldn't give me more pasta because my young son was eating off of my plate and told me the "cameras are watching". My son doesn't eat an entire meal he picks off some pasta and will eat it. I've never before had a problem with this let alone being told I can't get more unlimited pasta? It's not like I got 10 plates I had 2. I wish I had gotten her name she had black curly hair working 1/22/26 during lunch. Very cold and had a snarky attitude. read more

I've been going there for 35 years, I had a to go order tonight that the said they never received , I asked to talk to a manager who would not give me his name and he told me to leave, the guy had a grey beard so they probably know who he is. I have probably spent more than 7,000 dollars over the years, unless someone calls me I will never visit their premises. read more

Chi Chi's is a staple in this town and I will happily carb overload here a few times a year. I never stray from my usuals; spicy cheese pizza, shells & meat sauce and an antipasto salad. It's always delicious, although tonight's spicy pizza was spicier than usual and borderline too hot. Their tiramisu is a must, so rich and creamy. This place gets busy, so make sure to call ahead on the weekend. We typically do take out from here and it took an hour for my takeout order to be ready on a Saturday night around 6:00pm. I hate giving bad reviews especially to a restaurant that I love to eat at. It is very rare that I order takeout from this place. I ordered a chicken dinner and an extra side salad. Like always the chicken was excellent however, they only put one little piece of potato. Usually they serve about 4 large pieces. This meal was over $43. Was looking forward to the classic pasta and meat sauce with a side of meatballs. The pasta was good as usual and the meat sauce well done, however the overall service and the ambience of this place leave something to be desired. Overall, the place was dirty. There were two hostesses sitting at a table next to the entryway with their own food and Tupperware tins, a bag of flaming, hot Cheetos and a bunch of dirty napkins in Plainview. This was disgusting. Our server was completely rude. She looked like she's worked there for about 30 years and could care less about her job at this point. If you can suffer through the disgusting, dirty tables and unsightly scenes from the staff, the pasta is not that bad. read more

As a white woman, this was great. Great service, delicious food, and a good atmosphere. Really good pasta. As an Italian though, this hurt me. My boyfriend ordered pineapple and black olive pizza in honor of the mighty Deadpool and I had fettuccine Alfredo. They left his gross pineapples uncut, but they cut my noodles. They. Cut. The. Pasta. But not his precious pineapples. This is an ITALIAN RESTAURANT! They cut. My noodles. But they spared his stupid pineapple slices. Been ordering from Chi Chi's on Soledad for years. It's always been our favorite pizza place. However, the past 4 times I have paid for extra sauce and only get a 1/2 a ladle spoonful. Extra sauce is not cheap and I don't mind paying for it but portion size is ridiculous. The quality has really gone down as well as portion size. The price however, keeps rising for a small portion. Time to consider other options. $55 for med pizza, large springs with supposed extra marinara. read more

Terrible Takeout service. I picked up my order and was missing an item. So I sat and waited for it to be ready. I was on the phone and did not hear my name called. I looked up and saw an order on the counter. I asked if that was my order and they responded "yes I called you a few times". Clearly I didn't hear cause I was on the phone. The Very Best Pizza in the Valley. I think it's the type of cheese that they use. The taste is just phenomenal..,. I've been coming here since this early 60s so that should speak very loudly. It's our go to Italian place for Italians. It's the only sauce that isn't our own that I love and the service is excellent. The food superb. The only reason I don't give it five stars is that it's time for an update, a remodel, a refresh because the atmosphere has grown a little sad. The booth seats are broken down. This is the 3rd time we have ordered take out and this is the third time we didn't receive all the items. We placed an order over the phone, the hostess said we would get butter for the rolls, ranch for the wings, and extra sauce would not be needed since there is plenty in the container. We got home, there is literally no sauce and the noodles are greasy and sticky. No butter for the rolls. No dipping sauce for the hot wings. No utensils. The first two times we chalked it up to being busy and was over looked, but this is the third time. It's very disappointing to get a $20 container of pasta, and there are barely any signs of sauce. Save your money and go to a place that cares about their customers and doesn't cut corners by shorting their customers. read more

Chi Chi's has such a great tasting pizza that I believe has no local competitor with the same quality. Try a pepperoni & sausage pizza and add fresh basil! The service at Chi Chi's is always friendly and fast. The restaurant's interior has remained the same for as long as I can remember, but I enjoy it. Besides the pizza, I highly recommend the antipasto salad. I sometimes pick up a salad to go because it's so amazing. As an Italian civilian who likes to enjoy Italian food at Italian restaurants I'm usually disappointed with the food I receive BUT when I tell you the second I stepped into "chi chi's pizza" I already knew what I was in for. I absolutely freaking loved this place! I got the Cheese Ravioli with meatless sauce and oh my lord I ate this up in less than ten minutes, definitely recommend. Also I got a pineapple pizza it was pretty good they put actual pineapple rings on the pizza which was nice although the cheese was definitely pretty melty and sliding off the pizza a bit would recommend to wait to eat it for a bit. I can't believe I've never written a review for Chi Chi's. This place has been around since I was a kid. Granted, I never really came here back then, that I can recall anyway. But I have discovered this place in the last few years and my family and I absolutely love it! The food is delicious. My favorite is the spaghetti. I usually think, "Hey it's spaghetti. It's pretty much all the same." Wrong. The flavor of the pasta and meat sauce is far and away better than any other Italian restaurant I've been too. I also love the pizza. It's so good. When I come with the family, we usually get a family dish of spaghetti and a pizza to share and there is nothing left on the table when all is said and done. I have been told the chicken parmesan is amazing as well by a close friend. I look forward to trying many things on this menu. Every staff member we've come into contact with has been very pleasant and helpful. But to top it all off, the prices are great! You can't get food this good for prices this affordable. Chi Chi's has always been a favorite for us for 40 years, the food is excellent and the long term waiters are great. Best Pizza in SCV and the linguine and clams with red sauce are too die for. We order many different dishes when we go and go at least 4 times a month. Went with the little kids the other night and we were so disappointed. The gal that sat us or actually the kid was so timid, did know what to do or say or do, acted like the management would fire her if she called the wrong shot. The Waitress apologized that they were busy and that we couldn't get any glasses cause they were in the dishwasher. Brought us a Caraff of red wine with no glasses after our salad came. Brought one booster seat for the little ones and never another, excuses, excuses. We ordered a large loaded pizza and salads with cheese which is extra. She never brought us the rolls / bread. Asked her for some rolls after we were halfway through the salads and she then proceeded to tell us if we didn't order dinners, we could not get bread. I have been getting bread here for 40 years, this is upsurd. I'm the kind of Customer that would never go there again, just because of that and tell everybody I know about it. Dumb, dumb, dumb, Chi Chi's. I am happy to pay a couple extra bucks for a few rolls, the point was the way things are being done at Chi Chi's. First of all, this is the first time I've tried Chi-chi's. I was convinced to buy from there because it's an authentic Italian place. I got the Immigrant Pizza and Clam Pasta in Cream Sauce. I feel that my expectations were too high and I got disappointed with the food. The Clam Pasta was so dry. It was not al dente, and was very sticky. I added some olive oil and parmesan cheese and somehow it tasted better. And for the pizza, it was very soggy. Too much unneeded cheese. My husband and his family have been enjoying the delicious food at Chi-Chis since he was a toddler. Shortly after we started dating, he brought me to this lovely Italian bistro and I have been hooked ever since! The hubby and I will celebrate our 17th wedding anniversary with dinner at Chi-Chis this year. I absolutely love the food, ambiance, and in particular a waiter named Bobo. He is always so friendly, has great energy, and always goes above and beyond to make you feel welcome and part of the Chi-Chis family. His laugh is infectious! Just came back from Chi Chi's and what a disappointment. Lunch was 32.74 for two servings of ravioli. There were 8 ravioli per plate and hardly any sauce on them, the sauce is the best part. The ravioli tasted like it was old and could have been cooked a little longer.
