The last time we stopped by I noticed a new (very chatty) crew in the kitchen and the food was not as good as it usually is; the chicken was under seasoned and the jjapchae (glass noodle dish) was similarly less flavorful and the bulgogi pieces came out charred. If you remember the movie Gremlins, when they're tearing it up after midnight, that's how addictive and desirable this food is. Wings or drumsticks doesn't matter, as both are great. All of the employees have been super friendly and helpful. Something righteous is going on here, as each experience has exceeded expectations. Am a tough evaluator, and my only issue is they are a bit expensive. Then again so are their competitors, such as Bon Chon, and inflation/supply side issues are real. Confession: i am a newbie to Chi Mc and have only had KFC a handful of times at nowhere that almost only exclusively serves it on their menu. We got a 16 piece wing order with some soy garlic glaze and DAMN, I've never had a better tasting juicy yet crispy wing like this. They had some nice size to them and they tasted so fresh minus all those hormones you taste in store brought chicken. I plan on being a regular especially since my son lives about 5 minutes from this spot. The next time we will be trying the fried ribs as we work our way around the menu until we hit it all. Some may be "intimated" by the prices but trust me the food is worth it but if you are a cheapskate and want every single thing you buy to cost a "dollar" than maybe you should stick to those nasty unclean Chinese restaurants with the rib tips and chicken wings and pork fried rice........not for me. Couldn't get through after ten minutes of trying on the phone so used Yelp to place an online order for pick up. Was super easy to use. The food took about half an hour longer than Yelp stated and despite the fact Yelp said. Was complete and ready for pickup we waited inside for another 15 mins (it was pretty packed). We ordered the chicken wings combo large half and half and small order of tenders half and half. The radish sides seemed a little smaller than other locations and this was our first time ordering rice (more expensive than I was expecting--note to self make rice ahead of time or swing by Hmart to buy instant rice for a fraction of the cost).
