Swung by on a whim on a Friday for lunch so of course I'm going meatless. So I got some Pad Prik Pow with the seafood. It was prepared quickly and it wasn't bad. The sauce is nicely spicy but not by any means too much. The seafood wasn't cooked too much. A couple of scallops, 3 shrimp, some mussels (out of the shell), and some squid etc. thanks for lunch!

Tried the crab fried rice and papaya salad. The fried rice was tasty, had a decent amount of crab meat, and favorable portions. The papaya salad was delicious as well with the right kick of spice. Place had a cute decor and service was nice. Overall a good experience.

Phenomenal service. Nice open ambience. EXCELLENT selection of food. My first time at AmThai but will be My new Go To for authentic Thai cooking!

We tried their Pad see ew and fried rice. So good! I love the texture of the noodles and the flavor. It was seasoned just right it wasn't sweet or salty just balanced. Good portion size and decent amount of protein in our dishes. I'm coming back to try more things!

I was near by yesterday and my family wanted Thai food. I normally go to my other thai restaurant but we stopped here to try it out. The pad thai was had good flavor and the ambiance was very nice. I would definitely come back again

I stopped by for dinner on a Friday night and ordered the drunken noodles, fresh spring rolls, and Thai iced tea with boba. The drunken noodles were great! So yummy. Noodle texture was perfectly chewy. The spring rolls had way too much lettuce in my opinion and I didn't like that it was pre-cut. But the peanut sauce was really good. My biggest qualm with this place is that it took 35 minutes for the food to come out! I felt like I was waiting around forever and the restaurant wasn't that busy at the time. Overall I would probably come back since the food was good and the ambiance inside is nice (very aesthetic and cute) but hopefully the wait is shorter next time.

AmThai appears to be a family run restaurant where service is great and the food is good as well. Their Tom Yum soup was good and spicy. The Papaya Salad was refreshing. We always try the Pad Thai at every Thai restaurant and theirs was a little more saucy than typical but still tasted great. Ordered with shrimp that were decent sized. Ordered their seasonal curry pumpkin currywhich was good and tasted like panang curry. Also ordered their pineapple fried rice which also a bit more saucy than expected but still good. The portions seem to be fairly large. Worth visiting for the good food and great service.

Chicken with basil-great flavor! #19 on the menu!

Delicious Thai food in such a cute restaurant. Was in the area visiting my family and saw that a new Thai restaurant had opened up in the local shopping center and decided to grab to-go food for dinner and I'm glad we did! The woman who took my to-go order over the phone was extremely pleasant and I believe she was also the one who then processed my card and was very nice in person as well. The restaurant is beautiful inside and next time I'm in the area will have to dine it. Now onto the food... The food was top notch. We tried the following dishes, black pepper garlic chicken and it had wonderful flavor. Also had the chicken with basil I can never remember the name but it was number 19 on the menu and was absolutely delicious as well! Great flavor! Great restaurant!

My brother and I were craving Thai so we swung by after work. This place is located in a strip mall with other businesses so theres plenty of parking. We ordered 5 dishes: 1) Firecracker shrimp 2) Crispy tofu 3) Green curry 4) Drunken noodle 5) Mango sticky rice. The firecracker shrimp was crispy and delicious served with sweet chili sauce. They were fried well enough that even the tail is edible. The crispy tofu fell flat for us. The outer layer was mediocre and soft, it wasn't crispy at all. It was tasty and served with a sweet sour sauce topped with chopped peanuts. The green curry was on point with a hint of heat and umami they was served with steamed rice. The drunken noodles with beef were scrumptious and filled with flavor. The noodles were wiggly and the aroma from the wok was amazing. For dessert, we got the mango sticky rice. Upon asking about the sweet coconut sauce, our server stated it was already infused in the rice. Again, the mangoes were unpredictable so the dish was okay. If only there were a drizzle of the coconut sauce, it would have made the dish better but unfortunately the warm rice and tart mango was just okay. Our server was friendly and attentive. The restaurant itself was clean and has some interior decor.

    Crab Rangoon

Pleasantly surprised by this new Thai restaurant that opened up in the shopping center! I've eaten here a couple times and thoroughly enjoyed my meals. The pad Thai is good and the crab rangoons are delicious! They are large and filled side to side with cream cheese. If you've never tried a Thai curry puff this place has got it down. Flaky pastry wrapped around a sweet curry potato filling. My only gripe is the Thai tea is not very sweet and a very light flavor. Other than that everything is very good!

What I didn't like was there's a lot of up-charging, especially when other fast-casual salad bars include these things at no extra charge: I wanted to sub feta cheese crumbles for the blue cheese crumbles and I got charged more than a dollar extra. I got a side of focaccia bread - 2 small pieces- about the size of my fingers, and I have small hands. It's a good size salad and you get one small side of salad dressing. But wait. My go-to spot suddenly closed, leaving me in a bit of a lurch! Where do I go?! We all have our favorite Chinese restaurant, and when we can't go to that one there's a little bit of a conundrum. I take American Chinese food seriously - which really means I order the same thing 98% of the time because that's my GO TO meal. As an intellectual, that is of course General Tso's chicken. Beijing Tokyo blends north and south Asia into a rather cozy, strip mall location. One person was talking obliviously on her cell phone, while the sushi Chef took orders. Until Yelp asked me if this place was romantic, I hadn't actually thought about it that way. But it is a little romantic. The tables are close together, the light is low, even if this place was full it would be... Cozy. A Chinese restaurant that's cozy is a very short leap to romantic. You can have a conversation here. I ordered my usual and waited about 10 minutes. The GTC was excellent. It had spice and flavor, but not too spicy. The fried rice was delicious. Good portion size and a good price. Two egg rolls and the total came to $25.25. No surprises, nothing out of the ordinary. If you had told me this had come from my favorite- now sadly closed - Chinese restaurant, I would have never known the difference. And there in lies what I think makes a good Chinese restaurant: predictability. American Chinese food is a distinct cuisine with the same menus, the same waving Buddah and melamine plates. The difference is quality, and the taste of your favorite meal. I am sad that my favorite place closed, but Beijing Tokyo is my new Chinese food restaurant, and I think it's pretty darn good.

The from scratch broth, pleasant aroma from sour bamboo, crunchy string beans (wish there was an option to add!!) were phenomenal. Plus the tender yet collagenous beef shank cooked to perfection was phenomenal. Absolutely stick to your bones without the usual heaviness with big spicy noodle soups. No MSG headaches here, all the flavor is homegrown. The stinky tofu was also fried to perfection, with a side of Taiwanese kimchi. All the food was thoughtfully prepared and executed. We had our noodles fall apart and Yan corrected it immediately. She took the time to talk about her story of how she opened the restaurant originally to support her daughters college, her natural gift at cooking, and how her recipe was developed originally from a family one to what it is today. Just the warmest, most welcoming people. Even short staffed, we were impressed at how faultless and prepared from the heart the food was, warm and inviting the service, and leaving feeling like we just ate at our favorite auntie's house. Some of our food favorites were the moo ping with sticky rice as an appetizer. The pork marinade was really good! The crispy chicken with green curry was also delicious. The chicken had a great crisp, and it wasn't an overwhelming amount of green curry. The volcano tom yum dish using Mama instant noodles was a visually stunning dish. It was also tasty, served with a lot of seafood. The Mama cup was repurposed to hold veggies.
