Not the worst meatball sandwich I have eaten. I have had many different meatball sandwiches in the past and it's no different. The sandwich was a little messy (which I can't take some points off because it was delivered.)with a small tingle to my tastebuds which I did not really enjoy. But I dismissed it. I give them credit for having an oreo shake and some original ideas for their restaurant. It was okay overall but I would only order 1 time in the future. I could recommend if you like burgers! Well this little spot is certainly trying to make a name for itself by resembling a certain other chain known for its hotdogs and hamburgers. Eat here once and I'll guarantee you'll know who I'm talking about. But please don't take this as a bad thing. Quite the contrary I feel their quality is on par with and at times surpasses the original. This joint offers hotdogs, hamburgers, beef sandwiches, shakes, fries, salads and a host of other things. Do not think they have a limited selection. Prices are also pretty reasonable. I love their combo (Italian sausage and beef on a roll) and their Chi fries (covered in butter and garlic). Be sure to get the Chi fries. Oh and the green river shake. Yeah, don't ignore that one! My only real gripes is the place is kinda small and it seems to be minimally staffed. I'm not sure how busy this place is...usually it isn't. But if it ever is I can see the current setup being problematic. Given its location and size it seems to be sort of forgotten. The hamburger here is delicious! My family ordered the Italian beef for Christmas and everybody loves it. I feel it is spicy but I am in the minority and I am very sensitive to spicy foods. It's actually hard to get decent doughnuts, but this is the place to go on the weekend. They have both traditional and signature (fun) varieties, you can order online and pick up at the drive through window - or you can go inside and be tempted by all the varieties :-) CLEAN store, friendly staff, great food. I was so excited to try this place with my Sister-in-law. We got the Greek Salad- which I liked, wasn't fantastic but it wasn't bad at all. The Crispy Chicken Bites- they were good, nothing to write home about...however, we almost didn't get them because they weren't included in our order and even though we were still at the window and had not left...he reacted as though I wasn't telling the truth about them not being in the bag. Fries- the only thing that was genuinely really great out of what we ordered. Overall it was ok, nothing amazing. I may give it another chance at some point, but probably not anytime soon. read more

Wasn't feeling up for cooking a burger for myself on a Saturday night. I drive by this place all the time. It was a former Kentucky Fried Chicken. I ordered from GrubHub for delivery and was not disappointed. It arrived within 45 minutes, hot. The burger was like one I would have made and was very good. Fries were not over salted, either. I won't do this too often because this meal is a cheat for me. When family comes, we are ordering from here rather than slaving over the stove! Also, heard the donuts are great, too. We were starving but did not want to eat at the ever so played out Portillos, chipotle, BWWs, etc. we looked up foods near our location and CHISHACK popped up so we decided to give it a try. All I have to say is BOMB! We both got the chicken tender sandwich, garlic butter fries, onion rings, and an Oreo shake. Only suggestion is to ask for extra sauce on the chicken sandwich, otherwise it can be a bit dry. How can parm butter fries be forgettable idk ask Chi Shack they did an excellent job at making basic forgettable fries. Lastly we tried the Chicago polish. I absolutely love the ones from Portillo's so I thought I'd give it a try. Bad decision. It was lukewarm and the worst part is we tried it immediately when we got into the car lol. I really like this cute little shack I was doing an event in the same strip mall at Ashton place when hunger struck. My assistant and I wanted something quick and close and Chi shack seemed to have that heavenly glow and ahhhhhhhh... The menu is pretty straightforward with chicken sandwiches burgers hot dogs and subs but this isn't your typical greasy spoon a grilled chicken breast was delicious fresh and huge and the subs were made to order fresh and also huge. The food is not that great. The burgers are more like a 4/5. The salads are 1/5. Grilled chicken was 4/5. Fries are 3/5, they're frozen. Place is totally over priced considering is low quality food. Wow, one of my new favorite fast food restaurants! I got the Chi Burger. I got the single, but I was afraid that it wouldn't be enough. It was much bigger than I thought. And it had a great taste! Thinking the burger wouldn't be enough, I got a large order of cheese fries. Big mistake! It was too much! LOL. They were served hot and really tasty. I topped it off with a strawberry shake. Honestly this place is not good at all.. maybe they were having a bad day, maybe not reading other reviews. But my opinion it was bad. I work close by and was excited when they finally opened. What I got was like a buffalo chicken burger and the chifries. The worst burger and fries I ever ate. From the very first bite til the last one was one disappointment after the next. When looking at the burger you'd expect like flavor, but all I taste was blandness like they just put red food coloring into the chicken tender the used. Now then I ate the fries which was like garlic fries call the chifries honestly it was plain fries in a bunch of oil with some parm garlic and still just oily n flavorless. Like other people's review aren't lying about this place. Overall the buffalo burger and chifries are flavorless and horrible. But I will go back in maybe 2 weeks and give it another try. Hopefully they step up there game, but we'll just have to see read more

ChiShack opened last week, curiously locating themselves amidst the established triangle composed of Teddy's, Buona Beef, and Portillo's, while offering very similar fare. The hot dogs were as good as anywhere else in the area. My family did not like the regular fries as they were soggy and flimsy. An avid lover of the combo (Italian beef and sausage), I was anxious to try this place. After all, they located their business between Portillo's and Buona. Their beef and sausage are good, and would be popular in a lot of places. Unfortunately, it's not good enough for where they are located and lacks the uniqueness or quality to make me want to return for their combo, but I will give them another shot as they just opened last week. Digressing: The sandwich immediately reminded me of a sandwich shop on Vincennes in the industrial area of South Holland. Yelpers gave that restaurant 4.5 stars, but there's no way it would get 4.5 stars in this location. I swear they use the same bun and beef supplier. The inside has a Chicago theme that looked pretty good. The service was understandably slower than you would expect. The cashier was pleasant, albeit visibly cold from the drive thru window. They should let her wear a hoodie or jacket or something. Overall, this is my type of place; yet there are other similar establishments nearby. It will be interesting to see how long they can stay open. Do they have a signature item? The hot dogs were pretty good. They had a blue line and a red line sub that sounded pretty good. I wouldn't recommend eating it while driving, I made that mistake n it was a massive mess in my lap n all over my face. If you date choose to, ask them to cut it in half for you. It might save you your shirt for your work meeting. Their chicken tenders are really good as well as their Chi Fries which is a mixture of garlic & Parmesan cheese. Cant forget their shakes. This place is understandably close to Buona and Portillos. ***But give it a rest with the comparisons to this fine family run establishment.
