Terrible experience. The employees seemed like they didn't even want to be there, and the overall customer service reflected that. When I got my sandwich, it had barely any toppings on it--literally only a few pieces of cucumber and very little else. For the price, I expected a lot better. To make matters worse, the hot sauce station was disgusting. Nearly all of the bottles were empty, crusted over with old sauce, and looked like they hadn't been cleaned in a long time. This Firehouse Subs location is a sad story for me. I really like Firehouse in general and would go there almost once every month. It's arguably my favorite sub sandwich joint. But this lone location within driving distance of my home is now banned for shafting me. The Good: The food itself is consistently good at this Willowbrook location. I haven't had anything bad there in the 2+ years I've been going there. They have one of those fancy touchscreen Coke machines where you can add flavors to your soda. The restaurant is generally clean and I haven't seen any filthy conditions. The Bad: They are slow as hell. Practically every time I've placed an online order it wasn't ready for 10 minutes or more after the pickup time shown on the Firehouse app. And when I've walked in and ordered the old fashioned way at the cash register, it was still super slow. I shouldn't have to wait 15 minutes for 2-3 subs to be made when the place is mostly empty, that's unacceptable. But their slowness isn't why I've banned them. I refuse to go back because of an order mishap that the restaurant refused to fully compensate me for. I placed an online order in mid-December 2024 for two French dip subs. I discovered upon getting home that both were missing the onions that are supposed to come on them, so I called the restaurant to report the error. The employee who answered the phone apologized, took down my name, and said they'd replace both sandwiches free of charge on my next visit. Fine by me, they were forgiven! Well, I returned a few weeks later to claim the replacement subs only to be told that they would only make me ONE free of charge. The employee who said that he was the manager on duty insisted that their book with my name logged in it indicated (mistakenly) that I was only owed one replacement French dip sandwich. Even though I showed the guy the online order on my phone that had been for TWO identical French dips (both of which were missing the onions), he smugly declared that he was going by their handwritten book and didn't care what the Firehouse app's order history indicated. So, I retorted that he could give me the one sub, I would cancel the other sandwiches I was going to order and pay for, and they would never see me again. He was totally OK with losing my business forever over a $10 sandwich. Unbelievable! I took the one French dip sandwich, didn't say another word, and walked out for the last time. This Firehouse location is now banned and I won't return. No matter how much I love the food, I refuse to be treated like a jerk. read more

I like this location ,but the last 2 times my online order was wrong. I always say NO mustard and there is always deli mustard on my sandwich . The small subs are super tiny(see pic) most sub places have a small sub that's more than 3-4 bites. I have noticed that they have started putting less meat on the subs. I ordered the mdeium firehouse steak and cheese sandwhich and a medium drink. Total came to $15 and change. The sandwhich was so tiny and honestly not that good compared to other places. Firehouse subs is definitely not a good bang for you buck. Jersey Mikes has similar prices but the sandwhiches are much bigger and they give you more meat and toppings. I've looked at Firehouse Subs menu several times over the years and I didn't get it? The sandwiches didn't seem to have much meat, cheese and fixings. They just Seemed over priced for what you received and the locations were further away than other sub shops. Tmobile made me finally give them a try and I hate to say I was correct with my initial impressions. The flagship Hook and Ladder sandwich was specially priced and I was totally unimpressed. No way this sandwich was worth $10, service was on the slower side. I always liked the idea/concept but it totally lacks follow through compared to Jimmy John's or Jersey Mike's. Been craving a huge gooey sandwich for months, Firehouse didn't disappoint. I got their veggie with lettuce, tomato, easy mayo, 3 cheese (melted), onion, sauteed peppers & mushrooms with a side of hot giardinara. Messy, gooey, deliciousness!! I tried the tomato soup too which was decent. My boyfriend got the bbq brisket and wasnt impressed. He said my veggie sandwich was definitely better. He got a side of mac n cheese that was reminiscent of Kraft but with white cheese - it was a tad better than Kraft. Great service, clean restaurant. read more

Utter bunch of knuckleheads. Tonight I ordered online and picked up at the restaurant. Got home, opened the bags and found - 1. I ordered pastrami. As you can see from the photo, they gave me roast beef. 2. A tiny patch of beef in a sloppily made sandwich where the fillings were falling out. 3. I ordered chili with onions. No onions. (It did come with oyster crackers and I added the cheese that you see at home.) 4. No napkins. Even Mickey D's provides napkins. The best sub sandwich in the suburbs hands down! Born and raised in Chicago and moved out here 30 years ago. Couldn't find a good sub sandwich anywhere...some came close (it's kinda like the pizza you remember growing up that was delivered in a bag on carboard). Our family had an unexpected death, and we needed a platter of sandwiches to bring over to the house. Usually to get a box of sandwiches, you have to request it 24/48 hours in advance. The manager George was so accommodating to our situation and we were able to pick up our order in under an hour. We will absolutely be coming back in the future. read more

A sub place shouldn't have he timing of a sit down restaurant. Since I have been waiting for my food, I have seen three groups walk out because there was no one to take their order. A woman that was here before me is still waiting while three other orders have been handed out. One woman walked up to the counter looking for her food and the worker simply said "oh I forgot to bring it out." I've waited a total of 27 minutes for my order then was handed a bag with sauce lettuce and oil all over it. I feel for the workers but a heads up on timing would have been nice. read more

I just wanted to mention first and foremost that the customer service is outstanding at Firehouse Subs!! Walked in today to place a last minute order for a sub platter that I needed within 3 hrs. Felt bad that I couldn't have given more time, but had last minute company coming and needed something fast and delicious! Spoke to George, the manager, for all the different combos I needed and he kept reassuring me that they would make everything work according to my needs and they definitely did! They also, do an outstanding way of displaying the subs in a very sturdy Firehouse box. George went over everything with me, names of each kind of sub, I requested, on each row in box, including all condiments tucked in on the side, pickles that were individual wrapped and sturdy paper plates and napkins. Volunteered to help me to my car. My company was very impressed and happy with the quality and taste of the subs. I went in yesterday and told the young man everything I did and didn't want on my order and somehow he still got it wrong. I don't know if he just wasn't paying attention or what, but he repeated my order back correctly. When I called to let them know within about 20 minutes after my visit, they were very apologetic and asked if I had time to stop back in so they could remake my order and upgrade it to a combo for free. Unfortunately, I work for a car dealership and time is very precious in the position that I am in and I said I used my whole break and didn't have time. He took a note with my name on it and the order I originally had and said they would replace it free of charge. When I went in today on my lunch yet again, that wasn't the story. At the end of me placing my order the man told me I owed $6 and come change. I corrected him and said I don't owe anything, I was told it was free of charge for the combo upgrade (due to their mistake). He said Okay with a bit of an attitude, so I said you know what forget it and walked out. He was yelling my name to come back and I said no thank you and that I would write a review about my experience.
