This is a casual, big eats, halal spot. The menu has a lot of variety ranging from gyro platters to burgers! We came around 9pm on a Friday and it was very busy! We had to wait for someone to leave to get a table. Additionally the lights are cool but BRIGHT and overbearing. For food we got the seafood platter and the chicken platter. These were both delicious and large servings for a very reasonable price. The shrimp was a bit dry but it was the end of day. The chicken was excellent and juicy. We also tried the mango juice - definitely get this! Yummy. Overall, fun spot. Big variety. And good eats.

I came here the other day to have a quick iftar with a friend and was not disappointed. Right off the bat the insane red, black and white NYC themed artwork draws you in like a moth to a flame. On the menu you will find a handful of NYC classics like the chopped cheese sandwich, an homage to a philly cheesesteak as well as halal chicken over rice platters. I ordered the OG burger and asked for grilled jalapeños on it. The cashier was friendly but took forever to place the order in, I'm not are why but he seemed super confused and out of it. It must be because we came right before iftar but they missed my order note and did not in fact add jalapeños which was disappointing. The burger was A-okay, it's a typical smash burger but I found it a little on the dry side and I also thought it was incredibly greasy. The chicken fajiro my friend ordered was, on the other hand, quite nice. This is some sort of pita bread quesadilla concoction with shredded meat, cheese and ranch in the filling. I took a bite and it tasted quite good and I will have to come back here to grab myself one on a day my caloric budget allows for it. Speaking of calories - I really think they should include some healthier options in their menu that isn't doused in endless amount of mayo based sauces or is fried. Not a single speck of beans, avocados, or any vegetable was in sight in this establishment and that concerned me a lot as someone who likes to watch their diet and make healthier choices.

Solid place! I enjoyed their platter, steak fajiro, and lemon pepper wings. The wings were wet, not dry rub so the sauce was packed. The platter was very filling and flavorful. Food came out quick and they have indoor and outdoor seating!

The food was excellent... The service was top notch.... place was very clean and the staff super friendly... At first I thought man its kind of expensive but theres so much they give its well worth every dollar... kids loved it! AC was waaaay to high and super cold inside so we sat outside! we went in on a Friday night a little after 8. There weren't a lot of people, but it still took a while to get the food. We got 2 platter, 1 chicken and 1 lamb, mac and cheese balls, loaded fries. I think we spent less than $50. They give you a lot of food (a lot of rice) The main portion of the platter could be shared by 2 people if they weren't really hungry. Their white sauce isn't very flavorful. They gave us 4 other sauce each with a different level of spice. There was nothing special about anything we got. I like trying new places, and I'm glad I tried this one just to have the experience. Big Guys chicken and rice in Deep Ellum is better, but if you don't want to leave Richardson then I guess you can go here.

I'm very happy to have a new New York style Halal cart location in the Dallas area! OG Chicken and Gyro is a welcome addition to the area, and the food delivers on flavor in a big way. The rice and chicken are incredibly flavorful, and the lamb is tender and genuinely delicious. Every bowl feels fresh thanks to the vibrant vegetables, and even the fries stand out with their well-seasoned crispiness. If there's one thing I found myself wishing for, it's a spicy sauce option. While the flavors are strong enough to carry the dishes on their own, a little heat would elevate the experience even more. The only drawback was the wait time--about 30-40 minutes for two bowls and an appetizer. It's understandable given that this is a new location, and I'm confident they'll streamline operations as they settle in and customer volume grows. Overall, I'm very impressed with the flavors and see a lot of potential here. I'll definitely be back to see how they continue to improve. I will go as far as to say this is the best tasting New York Halal cart in Dallas but it needs a spicy sauce or element to really elevate them to the top tier.

The inside was nice and clean, cool lights and a honeycomb ceiling. Out doors, there's a turf patio & it's the day after Christmas. It's so warm, we sat outside. Food came out within 15 mins. I had a lamb gyro with rice platter, smash burger, and chicken faijerios (I'm sure that's spelled wrong). Prices were very reasonable and portions were great. The strawberry lemonade is soo good. Definitely recommend. The cashier who took our order was nice. Would definitely come back.

Worst lamb gyro I've ever had. The lamb is odd little chunks rather than slices and has the taste and texture of being cooked several days ago. The bread also tastes pretty stale and it's impossible to pick it up to eat as it just falls apart in your hand. Loud music and extremely cramped booths are a perfect complement to the abrasive general decor. If I hadn't been starving when I went in it would be a one star review but the 11 dollars worth of trash did serve as an adequate gut plug. Nothing else. Hard pass on this place.

This new halal chicken and gyro spot has been all over my social media so decided to give it a try. We got the chicken over rice platter, falafels, fajiro, and the OG burger. The chicken over rice platter was good and the portions were very filling. We also got then OG burger which was perfectly cooked and moist. It could use some more sauce but I just added some to my liking. The fries were not my favorite but did have some seasoning on them. Also got the chicken fajiro and it was very similar to a quesadilla but had a masala seasoning on the chicken. Lastly the falafels were okay but I've had better. Good place to stop by if your in the area

Ordered the lamb gyro platter with white sauce for lunch today. Delicious and a decent value! The meat was flavorful, the fries were seasoned and crispy, and they gave plenty of rice. This ended up being two meals for me. They will even let you add two different sauces at no cost. I wish the salad had some sort of dressing or that they also hit it with some sauce. The inside was very clean and the cashier was kind. The wait was a little long for the food but it was during the lunch rush. There is both indoor and outdoor seating and they will bring your plate to you. Dine in and takeout are both served in to go containers. Parking lot is a bit small but there are additional spots around the side. I would also recommend they remove the animation from their menu screens because it makes it a little hard to read. For a place that just opened I was very impressed! Will be back to try more :)

No long review needed. It's good. Like, really, really good y'all! I was a bit skeptical because my food came out in about 5 minutes, but my fries were hot and crispy, the chicken was juicy and flavorful, and the little side salad was cool and crisp. Read reviews went to try, first thing I noticed before I walked in was all the smudge marks on the door. Cleanliness is usually a precursor to how the food will be and I should've trusted my gut. You order from a counter where all the food is sitting out. Fries under a heat lamp with paper plates on top of the fries to keep the flies away. No lie, there had to be about 12 flies flying around, made it impossible to dine-in. Guy who plated our food was eating while doing so. Booths are impossible to sit in as they just slide across the floor. Watched 3 different parties try to sit there and just moved elsewhere. If I do come back, it will definitely be to go. Food was ok. Fajiro was good, wife had the gyro plate and was underwhelmed. The burger was good but not "the best in Dallas". All in all, this seems like just another one of those "internet spots" that pay for reels to make them look good but isn't actually anything special. read more

Is this the only NYC platter spot in town? Absolutely not. Is it the best or cheapest around? Still no. Is it worth visiting? Absolutely especially if you're a foodie. Service here is fast and as you sit and enjoy the NYC vibe they'll even call you up soon after to have you customize your bowl with sauces and toppings, and don't be afraid to ask for more/less since they're there to learn! As for the classic combo bowl, it's actually not my favorite thing here. For plates their Seafood Platter is the shock hit while their Burger series is actually a great pick especially if you're tired of thin Smashburgers. They've got a lot of options and I'm still working through them myself. Considering they haven't closed already, I'd say they're doing something right. If it were me, I'd definitely plan to check them out if I'm around town! read more

The food was pretty delicious, though it took a long time to get to me. I also went with someone and our orders came out at drastically different times. The interior was decent, but the outdoor seating area was absolutely filthy and it wasn't due to the wind. Great food but could use a lot of work to raise the standards for a dining experience. read more

I went for the 1st time back in November of '25. The inside was fire engine red and black with a few tables. It was later in the evening so I'll guess they had a rush and didn't really clean the tables. I ordered a chicken platter plate. The meal itself was good. The meat was tender and flavorful. Food was mediocre, not much flavor, but I see potential. I asked for salt and pepper, and the kid gave me a large potion of pepper with some salt all mixed in a to go cup. We ordered two smash burgers, the loaded fries and lamb/ gyro plate. There was only 3 people sitting waiting for their orders, and it took us almost 30 minutes for the food. THE WORST PART WAS THE RAP MUSIC WITH LYRICS TALKING ABOUT SLAPPING & BENDING HOE'S OVER. Another song was "all of a sudden" by lil baby & moneybag There were other families there and they were noticeably uncomfortable. We drove 30 min to try this place We won't be back read more

I ordered the OG platter. For the 2 meats I got gyro and beef. Also came with rice, fries, cucumber salad. Covered in white sauce. Very very good. Everything was well seasoned. Good portion for the money. 14 bucks and some change. Service was great and the ambiance was sure interesting, but I'll be back for the food either way. read more

The food is overhyped, but the food is solid. Definitely needs more seasoning towards the beef and chicken to add to the flavor. Ok guys, these restaurants will have to up their game now because we have a new restaurant in town and IT IS A BANGER. And its name is OG Chicken and Gyro. It is located in the same strip as Gilgamesh. Its just their 2nd day, so bear with them, think of it like its a new job and they are still getting acclimated in to it. There will be mistakes but they look like they really want to learn to their mistakes, if any, and wants us to be honest about it. They are really friendly bunch of people so thats always a plus. Now about the food and drink: I got Chicken over rice, Chicken Fajiro, Caramel Cheesecake and Oreo Fudge Milkshake. Chicken over Rice: Overall Amazing. Thats it. It has Chicken, Rice and Fries in it. The only thing that was an issue was that the white sauce too much and I personally cant handle creamy sauces too much, it makes me nauseous. Suggestion to be better for Chicken over gyro: Before you put any sauce, specially white sauce, ask the customer how much they want. And PLEASE, and this is just my Pakistani taste buds speaking (lol), for god sakes make your hot sauce actually hot, if it aint making my tongue tingle, it aint a hot sauce. And If someone complains about a HOT sauce being hot, they're just a little bunch of cry babies. Chicken Fajiro: They are like Quesadillas, but werent actually it. Pardon my French here, but whatever that shit was, it was AMAZING. There were four pieces of it. They told me that the bread itself was seasoned and the chicken was seasoned too. And it looked like it. It was SO flavorful. And whatever that brown colored sauce is in the picture, it made Fajiro taste even better. Suggestions for Chicken Fajiro: Dont really have any suggestions because it was my first time trying it and it all the right spots on the first try. Caramel Cheesecake: It was ok, nothing too special, I have had much better at other places. Oreo Fudge Milkshake: There is a reason there is no photo of it attached. The second it touched my hand, I inhaled it, it was that good. And I am that guy who doesnt like anything chocolate flavored. One of the best shakes I have tried. Then again different people have different taste buds so not everyone will like it, but I LOVED IT. My friend got it too and he loved it too. Prices: When I first walked in and saw the prices, it felt to me a little steep. It was probably the desi in me thinking that though but in all honesty, when I saw the portion size and how tasty it was, I was like ok, yeah the price is justified and worth it. But I still feel like the shake was a little expensive, I am still double minded about it. It was a quite a big size and it was delicious so maybe the price is justified and worth it. I dont know, yall can be the judge of it. They also have Fruity Pebbles and Cinnamon Toast Crunch flavored shake too. Chicken over rice and Fajiro was 12.99 each and the shake and cheesecake was 6.99 each. Overall Experience: Food wise it was amazing overall. Service wise, needs a little improvement. Suggestion to be better: Train your employees, specially the employees taking the order, so that are easily able to explain what XYZ item is. Train them on what the items are on the menu. Like for example, there was this nice lady at the register and I asked her what Fajiro is, she couldnt explain it to me at all. Not counting it against her or the restaurant but I think things like this matter. People may pass on an amazing item in the menu just because the server isnt able to explain it a better/clear way or at all. I have done this myself many times at other restaurants. I almost did that on Fajiro, but thankfully there was another worker there who somewhat explained it to me. See the thing is that even the server being knowledgeable about the items on the menu is part of an advertisement and contribute majorly in the decision-making part of the ordering process. Wait Time: I dont think I had to wait that long, typical 10-20 minutes. My Chicken over Rice was ready pretty much right away, but since Fajiro were made fresh, that took a little longer. Overall rating: 8/10. That cheesecake needs to be better and service needs a little improvement.
