This spot is good, but make sure you go with an appetite. When you arrive you might think "prices are a little high", well that is because they give you FOOD at this place. Let me put it this way. My wife and I got their sampler platter and ordered a side of fries. We got the platter in tenders rather than bone-in. The tenders are more like boneless wings btw. Flavors were good! Good korean fried chicken. Kind of regret not getting a more savory flavor since the one I got which was the sweet sauteed garlic was too sweet in my opinion. In my quest for fried chicken excellence I've been reading about a food trend I'd not yet experienced...Korean Fried Chicken. Last Tuesday I decided it was time I rectified that situation. After scouring through a few reviews here and there I headed out to No 1 Plus Chicken in. Richardson. The location was very easy to locate even with traffic being quite overwhelming. Taking a look at the building, this restaurant has taken home in a former Mr Gatti's restaurant... and highly improved the location. The signage is clean and the space comfortable and sparse. I was seated a little further back than I would've preferred, however I found it to be very comfortable and an excellent view of the operation. When seated I was given a small cup for ice water that was placed upon the table for me in a simple bottle by the hostess, shown the QR code for the menu and instructed to press the button to call for my server. After reviewing the menu through my phone I decided upon the Yangyum Combo with fries (next time I'll get some of the kimchi) at a medium spice level ( of which they list 5 spice levels from regular to xxspicy) I made my order and within 10 minutes my dinner was ready. I first found this place during the early quarantine days when I was consciously trying to support local restaurants. On my first visit, they were even selling N95 masks and I bought a couple. I went back again and I enjoyed it both times. The chicken is crispy and the service is great. I call my orders in and when I get there, everything is hot and ready. Very crispy pieces of chicken tenders cut small, topped with an enormous amount of green onions, drizzled with a sauce that I brother taste like honey mustard. Must try. We've been to this location before and the food was great! This time around our issue was with service. We were sat and ordered fairly quickly only to see other tables seated, order, and get their food before us. After 45ish minutes the waiter comes back out asking if were ready to order... This is after We had ordered with the same waiter. He then just walk away after we say yes. Another 15min pass and we get the feeling the food isn't going to come. We call the waiter and he doesn't come to us, instead he walks to the kitchen and someone else comes out to inform us that his friend made a mistake and didn't put the order in because he had made a mistake in taking it down. Went in for their baked wings...however they were 27 dollars...which seemed like a bit too much so I decided to compromise and get green onion chicken. Delicious food! I came on a weekend night and it was pretty busy so it took a while (the only reason it isn't 5 stars!) I would just like to commend the staff for their grace and patience, there were some really rude customers that cursed out a waiter for an accident and both the waitstaff and the owner handled it well for how terrible the customers were being. For a group of 3 we ordered the Platter assortment of Korean fried (double batter=extra crispy) chicken wings, KimChi Waffle fries, and the Green Onion Topping boneless chicken. We thoroughly enjoyed the platter which gave us a chance to try out different flavors which were all delicious. I was thoroughly confused about the massive amount of spiralized green onions that came on top of the boneless chicken. To be honest, most of it went in our trash can. The chicken itself was great but I'm still not sure what to make of that pyramid of green onions other than moving it aside to actually eat the chicken. My friends and I went in yesterday (7/3) at around 10:40 pm. We ordered a chicken platter and sauteed spicy chicken/ cheese with two sodas. The floor didn't look busy (about four tables) but we expected to wait for a while considering its a saturday night before a holiday. An hour later at 11:40 pm, we started getting impatient because we weren't getting our drinks or any update from our server. When we asked her about our order, she in fact didn't even recall what we've ordered. She came back 10 minutes later and told us that the order was just put in. We tried to make sense of the situation. Were they busy? Maybe. Did she forget? Maybe. She never gave us the solid reason. Instead, she repeatedly said that the order was just put in. Her being not clear about the reason made us realize that she simply forgot to put in our order. Honestly, mistakes happen. If she would have clearly explained what happend and sincerly apologized, we would have found a solution to work with. But she never explained and she never wanted to apologize. She didn't care that our night was ruined and we wasted an hour without any service or food. She kept going back to the kitchen and talking and giggling with other servers. We were very upset and decided to just leave. When we confronted her on the way out, she admitted that she forgot to put in our order until we brought it up. And still no apologies with an attitude. Blesssss. My favorite Korean fried chicken joint opened up in Richardson. No more trekking all the way to K-town in the rough part of Dallas. The fried chicken takes a bit to cook because they make it fresh but it's worth the wait and the wait really wasn't all that bad. I stuck to the "Fried Original". The half portion is reasonably priced at $10.95. The half portion is still a lot of food! The spicy isn't all too spicy but the fried chicken is solid. No dryness whatsoever - just all around tender meat. Love the crispy skin. My friend loves the "Sweet Sautéed Garlic" flavor. Next time I'll be more adventurous and try more flavors but the "Fried Original" is my tried and true. They also offer a large variety of sides! Their "Green Onion Topping" over 100% white meat nuggets is a cool dish. The mountain of green onions is nice for aesthetics. I ordered a green onion chicken like two months ago via Uber Eats and they forgot to send me a sauce for the chicken. Green Onion chicken should ALWAYS comes with a savory mustard sauce!!! I was very disappointed and felt like I wasted my money and time. I tried to eat it without the sauce, but I could't eat just the green onion. I called the store immediately, but the lady who picked up was very rude and unpleasant saying that they cannot do anything about it nor refund money. I know these things can happen sometimes, but she could have at least apologized and gave me a better explanations. I visited the store recently with expectations of better service, but it seemed like the same lady that was on the phone was serving and she gave me the horrible dine-in experience. Wow! I haven't had Korean fried chicken in a while, so this was quite the treat for me. The restaurant is located in kind of a junky looking parking lot, but don't let that fool you. What's inside takes your mind off of that almost instantly. The restaurant is clean, and we got there a little before their posted opening time but still made it in just fine. We were greeted and seated, and I immediately noticed the box of gloves sitting at the end of the table. A+. There are a lot of great things on the menu. The corn cheese is a staple, and therefore a must-try. I love that they bring it out on a skillet and then torch it again at the table so its extra melty cheesy and corn gooeyness just makes you want to dive right in. I got the White onion topping over 100% boneless chicken nuggets and that did not disappoint. The waitress recommended a small size, and since I was soloing this, I listened to her just in case. Indeed, it seems like the portion is meant for 1-2 people, which puts the large as meant for 3-4. It was delicious, and I would not hesitate to order it again... If not for the fact that I want to try other things on the menu! I tried the waffle fries... And to my sadness they were a little too heavily spiced. I do like my spices, but these were so spiced that there was still powder on them, that you could just shake off. It was like someone rubbed dry rub all over them and then gave them to us... Not so great, and really affected not only the taste but the texture. I also wanted to get some soju because soju and KFC goes hand in hand, but this is the second place I've seen that charges $13 for a bottle of soju. Is this the usual price in TX? You can get them for way cheaper in CA, and I'm talking restaurants in CA, not grocery stores. (obviously they're super cheap in grocery stores.) Came here after our flight at around 9pm and it was great food after being hungry because of traveling!! Wasnt too busy on a thurs night since only another party was there. We ordered a ton of food and everything came out in a timely manner. The girl serving us was so sweet and patient as this was our first time here. All of the food had lots of flavor and drinks to go with were delicious and satisfying. I will totally eat here again next time I'm in DFW. Both were delicious, but since I prefer sauced chicken, I definitely like these sweet garlic more. For sides we ordered curly fries which were fine...and the cabbage Cole slaw which I really enjoyed! The dressing was creamy, yet tangy. The side of radish that comes complimentary with the meal was one of the best parts of the meal and I would definitely order more next time. One thing I really like (but didn't order this time) is the mixed side which comes with regular fries, curly fries,sweet potato fries, and onion rings. It's on my list of things to order next time!
