Was in the store last week and was looking forward to buying a crystal or Quan Yin! I was asking the clerk behind the counter questions about some stones and she had no idea how to answer any of my questions so it was a trip wasted! Drove to the Stone Room in Albany instead! Quick stop before closing. The shop lady was super helpful and found our items for us. Not just a crystal shop, but also have everything you could possibly need for incense! I came to this shop on recommendation. I had heard great things about this place so I wanted to come check it out. This shop is a little hard to find. I think they need better signage. The address is what helped me locate the place. It can easily be missed because it's so small compared to the other neighboring shops. I came in and the shop employee was massaging someone. I was under the impression that they do massages here now? I was utterly confused. I thought the guy who was getting the massage worked there but he didn't. I asked him for help when the store started to get busy but he said he didn't work here. I'm still not sure if they do massages?! A few more people started to roll in and it got busy. One lady was a regular customer so knew what she wanted and was anxious to get in and out. The employee got a little flustered because I was there along with a few other folks. Finally, when it came to ringing her up, the lady decided she didn't want to purchase anything at this time because the energy was "off". To some degree, I could agree with her. I just wasn't willing to make the drive out all the way to Oakland again. I wanted to get everything that I needed and get out as well. Either the employee had a bad day or is dealing with something that we can't understand? Or she just doesn't handle too many customers at one time. I get it... There's one of her and many of us all at the same time, all with a lot of questions. Most of the rocks were OK priced. Between $2-7. There are some rocks that you have to pay by the gram. It can add up quickly! There were some items that I thought were ridiculously overpriced so I skipped out on them. Perhaps I can find the same items in Chinatown, China, or some other spot? I've been a loyal customer of this crystal shop for ten years, when it was located in Chinatown, then now moving to Lakeshore. The shop owner, Shirleen is very nice and polite lady, she knows everything about crystals and gemstones. BUT now I'm very disappointed for my recent visits of this shop...... Last year, I just found out their new address, then I was so exited to visit the shop at the new place. But I had a bad experience of visiting the shop that time, and I was nice enough to not writing any bad review yet, until today!!! Since the shop owner is very busy now, so she hires an employee working there who is an old white lady. She was rude and not helpful, she has no knowledge of crystals and gemstones. She just told me to read the description cards when I ask her questions. She is moody, has bad attitude and bad customer service skills!!! Today, I walked into the shop (I was the only customer there) and looked around for about 2 mins, then she suddenly asked me to go out of the shop for about 5-10 mins and come back, because she needed to clean up some mess in front of the shop. (Is that wired??? Can she wait and clean up later???) I was not happy about that and thinking to just leave the shop. Then 3 more people stepped into the shop while I was walking out, but she didn't stop them or request them to go outside. One of the customers walked in with two dogs, she didn't stop her neither. (She has bias on certain customers!!!) She even yelled at me when I asked her if there is any discount on the crystal bracelet. She got mad and yelled "Don't ask me for discount, you go and come back to ask about discount when Shirleen is here......bla bla bla......" (She can just simply say No in a nice way, no need to yell!!!) There's nothing wrong for a customer to ask for discount, you can choose either sell it or not, but no need to get mad and yell. Seriously, the shop owner needs to hire someone who is polite, has knowledge of gemstones, and has good customer service skills. Otherwise she will lose customers. read more

The beautiful young woman working was so incredibly educated, helpful and loving! Wow, I would truly go back just for some of her energy. So normally when I go in the store the staff is really friendly and very helpful but since COVID the store hours have changed they say they're open but they're not when you call you get no answer and it's a little frustrating because it was one of my favorite stores also recently I went in and the girl was on her phone I spoke to her two times and she didn't hear me then she finally was like oh hey and then proceeded to go back in her phone and the whole time I was in the store she was on her phone other customers walking in and she barely noticed them. It's cute and still trying to establish a presence. The disply in the window is put together, but it is a REALLLLLLY difficult shop to notice from the street. They have so many cute objects- cabuchons, wood carvings, jewelry, figures, rocks-- many of them of exquisite detail for reasonable prices. I was tempted to steal a candy off the altar in back until I read the "don't touch the altar" sign. That altar needs to be moved up 3 feet, and accessible only by a ladder! read more

Stumbled upon this treasure and I was immediately drawn in by the wonderful energy this place has. I didn't go in with any particular crystals in mind, or honestly, any intent to purchase (I was "just looking") but I found all the crystals that I needed. I purchased the crystals to which I was intuitively drawn and was extremely satisfied with the quality, the information cards, and the prices of the crystals and jewelry in the shop. The attendant was helpful and patient and even reminded me to cleanse my crystals and asked me if I knew how. I do, but I welcomed the reminder to cleanse crystals before doing work with them. This crystal store has a fairly good selection, they have some stones that the other stores in the area don't have (or have sometimes even heard of!). The staff is also pretty knowledgeable. Two things are not so great,though, a couple staff members make it almost impossible to shop in peace, as they give the run-down on each piece you touch or even glance at, with I guess the assumption that the customers have minimal crystal experience. The other thing is the pricing--I find most of their stones extremely high priced, and I probably wouldn't shop here unless I needed a certain stone pretty quickly for healing modalities. read more

The lady who works there gave me a small lecture on how I should hold the rocks and how I will feel when I have found a stone that has importance to me. The second time I came she gave me a discount on a stone. It was so thoughtful. There is a wide selection of rocks to choose from and there are descriptions for each of the rocks. Last night my friend dragged me into this shop, yet another on her long and laborious search for some inexpensive gifts. What a pleasant surprise! A shop with really beautiful natural objects, priced from $1.00 to many thousands. No plastic junk, no stupid gag gifts, just gorgeous things made by mother nature. We spent almost two hours going over every display and asked the clerk a lot of questions. I was worried we were bothering her as we told her we could only spend about $20.00 but she was super patient. I think she was the daughter of the owner. She knew a lot about the stones and when she didn't know she was honest about that instead of making up some bs. In the end my friend bought about $60 worth of small stones that she wanted to attach to strings, and without asking the clerk did all that work, stringing little stones and beads, no charge! Took her about 45 minutes. She also stayed open late for us, and when we left gave us beautiful gold gift boxes. I bought a tiger's eye pig, small but beautifully carved, only $12! It shimmers in the light and seems to glow a bit in the dark. Thanks for providing us with real gifts that have meaning. My only complaint is that some of the prices are so small it was hard to read them. read more

The store is hard to find, unless you're on foot AND LOOKING for it, because it's such a tiny storefront.
