I have been a patient of Dr. Chiara for several years. I have always distrusted dentists until Dr. Chiara. He and his staff have always been very considerate and informative of my care. I had broken my two front teeth several years ago and had gone to another dentist to have them repaired. I always thought the repair was a bit shoddy - you could see where the repair had been made. I didn't know any better and thought that was how it was going to be. A couple of years later, one of the repair sites broke off. That's when I went to Dr. Chiara. He repaired both teeth and now you can't tell where the repair was done. I have continued going to him since then. He and his staff are always friendly, courteous, and informative. There is almost no wait time when you go in. If I had any questions about their procedures, the staff have always answered my questions without making me feel like my questions were stupid. I have never felt that the doctor has rushed through his portion of my examinations, probably because his support staff are very knowledgeable and communicate very efficiently with him. I really appreciate the fact that he is not quick to want to do unnecessary work on my teeth. He seems to like to take a wait and observe attitude about dental work. If it doesn't seem necessary at the time, he won't work on the potentially problem tooth. If he does see a need, he will let you know what is going on. The staff is always helpful at checkout, explaining what was done and what needs to still be done, if anything, and what the costs will be. Dr. C has talked quite a bit when he has worked on my teeth, but I have never observed that he was distracted from his work. Plus, I have always found his talking to be a distraction for me while he drills away, He has always explained that if I have any type of discomfort, to come back in and he will take care of it right away. I have never had any problems. I like the care Dr. C and his staff have provided me, I recommended him to my husband and my parents. My parents are elderly and don't always understand what is going on or why. Dr. C and his staff are so patient with them, even when they have to explain things multiple time. I have never been to a better dentist than Dr. Chiara. I feel my teeth, and the teeth of my family, are in good hands with Dr. Chiara and his staff. read more

I had an appointment scheduled 6 months in advance with this office. I had a confirmation email dated the 24th which I responded to, to confirm my appointment for the following Friday Dec. 3rd Monday morning I get a call saying that I would have to reschedule my appointment. I asked why and the person I talked to said that it was a staffing issue. I asked to talk to the DR. but was told the doctor didn't deal with these matters. They wanted to reschedule it for another day. I said no, I already had one scheduled and that if they couldn't honor it, I would be looking for another dentist. ( I DID NOT CANCEL THIS APPOINTMENT) This is the third time they have done the same thing. Calling me and changing appointments I have made 6 months in advance. (VERY UNPROFESSIONAL). I said that if the Dr. wouldn't talk to me on the phone I would come to the office. So I drove to the office and asked to see the Dr. I was polite and composed. The office manager said that the Dr. would not talk to me, that it was a federal offense to harass a health care worker and that if I didn't leave she would call the police. So I see the Dr. walk by and I call out his name. He told me to leave and that he wasn't discussing the situation with me, and that if I didn't leave he was going to call the police. I said all I wanted to know is why my appointment was canceled but he had one right after mine that they didn't cancel. ( according to the office manager). The Dr. picked up the phone and started to call the police. A mature person would have taken me into his office and hear my complaint or at least talk to me on the phone. I am very disappointed in Dr. Chiara. All I wanted to know is why they picked my appointment to cancel over everyone else. Since my appointment was early, (7A.M) a person would think that they would cancel the latest appointment for the day and not the first. They treated me like I was a criminal. I wouldn't recommend this office to anyone. Shame Shame Shame on the unprofessionalism of this office. What has happened to this office and the people that work there ???? My last 3 dentists have been nightmares! They have all acted as if my dental problems are a deliberate attempt to ruin their reputation.. My last dentist was openly hostile about my need for a new crown. I saw an add for Chiara Dental in the Sahuarita Neighbor (a community publication) I called and was able to get in the very next day (I am a stay-at-home-mom so my schedule is very flexible) Dr Chiara has a wonderful office. It is bright and open and tastefully decorated (no cartoon characters on the walls) They have a wide variety of recent magazines but I didn't get to read any because they took me back right away. The hygienist was so nice and not at all condescending (the first time I have ever encountered a hygienist that did not talk down to me like I'm a 5 year old who needs to floss more) After my cleaning and x-rays I went to a different room to see the dentist. I guess an established patient just stays in the same chair and the dentist comes in and does what he needs to do. But as a new patient, I went to a different room so I could meet Dr Chiara face to face (not reclined and looking up at a stranger in a mask) All my x-rays were on a big flat screen in front of me so he could show me what he was talking about and I didn't have to twist in my chair and squint at a little tiny x-ray on a light board and pretend that I could see what he was pointing out. After my appointment I sat down with the front desk staff and went over the treatment plan, the cost, and what the insurance will pay. Everyone was so genuine and kind. It is definitely worth the drive from Sahuarita to go to a dentist that I like and trust. read more

My daughter was very nervous when her orthodontist said she needed to have a tooth pulled, and she was in tears when I brought her in for her first ever appointment at Chiara Dental, but Dr. Chiara and his staff put her right at ease. She asked them if I could go back with her and they said, "Sure, we'll get Mom a chair." My daughter was feeling very anxious, but the assistant was very nice and reassuring. Dr. Chiara was very friendly and explained everything to my daughter before doing anything. He gave us some different options and we chose to have the tooth pulled right then. He didn't even charge us for the extraction or the visit! We left the office without a single charge! After the quick, easy (and tear-free) extraction, Dr. Chiara stayed in the exam room and talked to us for a good while. He told us about the other services his office has to offer, about his continuing education, and his passion for dentistry. I can't say enough good things about Dr. Chiara and his friendly staff! My family of 5 will be switching to Dr. Chiara for all our dentistry needs going forward. Their office is clean and conveniently located at Houghton and Valencia. My husband and I sought out a qualified, competent dentist and we more than hit the mark with Dr. Chiara and his staff. The entire experience has been a pleasant and relaxing situation. We both have had our exams and consultations, and both have had fillings and/or crowns and a root canal. It all went quickly and smoothly, with the supportive and additive staff making things seamless to Dr. Chiara providing expert dental care. I worked in the field as a dental assistant many years ago, so we knew what to look for and the commitment to the quality of care is definitely a must-go at Chiara Dental. I was absolutely amazed by the professional, personal, and maticulos nature of the entire staff. The office is absolutely immaculate, state of the art, and welcoming. I was in a tremendous amount of pain due to an abcess and not in a good mood at all as you can imagine. I was a new patient that called for an appointment prior to the office even opening. Thinking I would get an answering service and a promise of a return call later in the day. To my amazement the phone was answered by the actual office. My appointment was scheduled for two hours later. As a new patient, I was treated as a well established patient. Not once did I feel rushed or as a burden to the dentist or staff. I cannot begin to tell you how amazing the entire staff is. Kind, courteous, professional, and friendly. My procedure was flawless. Dr.Chiara was very kind and caring. Yesterday had to get a painful loose tooth that was all the way in the back at the jaw. Normally I would've been scared as hell but because I went to Chiara before - I was relaxed. He is totally good with the needle. He put a "pre" numbing tiny needle first that you don't even feel before the regular sized needle that hardly feel at all - unlike others who rush the process while the numbing is still kicking in - this simple tooth removal was completely painless. Wow. I didn't even think I need Rx afterwards. Almost refused the Rx. But at 10PM when yawning, I was glad that I had the Rx and slept without pain throughout the night. Chiara is the best I have ever been to in entire life and I'm 55. He also has is own insurance plan that damn better than anything on the market. read more

Dr. Chiara has been my dentist for almost 2 years. I wish I would have found him when I moved to Tucson 6 years ago. He is thorough and kind. He explains everything he will be doing and then gives me options. He is very intelligent. I learn something new when I go to my appointments. There has been multiple times on weekends where he has met me at his office for a dental emergency and has never made me feel bad for taking him away from his weekend activities. The Office Manager, Angie is the first person you see when you walk in. She always has a smile and a soft kind voice. The Staff or "Team" are awesome. They work well together. Dr.Chiara and his outstanding staff have provided excellent care for al my dental needs since 2006. I have complete confidence in their expertise and professionalism. Dr. Chiara explains available options for all procedures and directly addresses my questions and concerns. In addition to routine cleanings and x-rays, I have had fillings, root canals, crowns and implants. I have never had any problems with the procedures done by Dr. Chiara and his staff. The Chiara Dental Facility is 14 miles from my home in near the University of Arizona but I never regret the 28 mile round trip. "Great experience every time I go to the office". My son has always gone to a pediatric dentist and when I decided to have Dr. Chiara see him (9) to fill a cavity, I was amazed at how well he did. Dr. Chiara was patient, he answered all of my son's questions, let my son touch the instruments, he was just amazing!!! So my experience so far has been the best experience with any dentist by far. I was getting a crown done , but the tooth was to forward and Dr Chiara sent it back to get fixed assured me that this happens and it will be fixed and it was the next week and now it looks like a real tooth and feels like one to.
