Loved the food the few times we've ordered takeout but just went to dine in at 5:30pm on a Sunday (hours online say they close at 6pm) and were told they were closed by the multiple employees sitting around doing nothing. I've been coming to Chibog for a while and the food quality has really gone downhill compared to last year. It used to taste fresh and authentic but lately it feels like they've stopped caring about consistency or quality. The meat quality is honestly garbage now... Their tapa is tough, fatty, and just poorly prepared. Filipino favorites that used to be flavorful now taste bland or overcooked. Ever since they've had those issues with being threatened to close down, it seems like they've completely stopped caring about maintaining the standards that made this place good in the first place. I wish they were open past 6pm! The food here is delicious and the portions are HUGE. The 4 of us ordered a lechon kiwali, kare kare, sisig, and a bowl of garlic rice and we barely made a dent in all of our food. The service was really quick and our food came out within 15 minutes of us ordering it. The lechon was crispy and I loved how the fatty bits were tender and not oily at all. The kare kare had a really strong nutty taste and that oxtail fell right off the bone. The bok choy on top gave it a really delicious crunch too! The sisig was literally sizzling when it came out! We always enjoy trying different Filipino restaurants to cater small gatherings at home, so we were excited to place our first order from Chibog. We ordered a party tray of Palabok for around $90 (half-tray size), expecting a more authentic or elevated flavor experience compared to the usual franchise-style Filipino chains. Unfortunately, the dish was very disappointing. Our guests immediately noted that the Palabok tasted "off". It lacked any of the traditional shrimp flavor and had no seasoning or flavor at all. No detectable flavors of shrimp or pork. Worse, after sitting out for only a couple of hours, it started to smell spoiled. We ended up having to throw out more than half of the tray. It was the only Filipino noodle dish we served at the gathering, so this was a huge letdown. Thankfully, we had rice to make up for it. Solid place for Filipino food. Surprisingly, my favorite dish was their Bangus Sisig which is a shredded milkfish tossed in a special sauce, onions, jalapenos, & mayonnaise. When you order takeout, but the smell is so good that you have to start eating your dinner in the car, that's usually my proof that the food is bussin'. And Chibog has yet to disappoint me! Running errands in Daly City, so my Pinoy hubby and I decided to take advantage of being close to Chibog and order our dinner to go. The plan was to grab the food, drive home, and enjoy dinner at the table. But that incredible lechon kawali smell had other plans. We didn't even make it out of the parking lot before we cracked open the to go box and started spearing chunks of the crispy, piping hot deep fried pork belly. It's the seasoning! It's the perfect combo of crunchy skin and juicy/fatty meat! And it's the generous portions! In addition to the lechon Kawali, we ordered a few other dishes that we actually managed to hold off on eating until we got home. We got the bistek (thinly sliced beef round marinated in soy, garlic, & calamansi and then sautéed with onions). It was tender, deeply flavored, and we ate atop steamed rice, spooning the leftover sauce over extra rice as well. We also got the inihaw na liempo (grilled pork belly). This was a big portion of sliced pork belly that was seasoned and grilled over flame, leaving a rich char on every piece of meat. Amazing! Chibog provided soy or vinegar for dipping sauces, but we made some quick sawsawan dipping sauce at home with soy, vinegar, chilies, onion, Calamansi juice, black pepper, sugar, and diced tomato. Daly City isn't close to home, but we are always happy to make the trip over to Chibog. Great service, reasonable prices for the portion size, and delicious eats. It doesn't look that juicy, it actually might look a bit dry in some pics, but it really is really tender, not dry at all. The tocino had slight char bits which had a great flavor. The sisig was a tad on the salty side, but was perfect once the rice arrived. The garlic rice is really good too, not dry. The service was good too. You write your name on a pad of paper and they call you. There were 4 parties ahead of us, and it took about 15 minutes for us to get seated. CANCELLED OUR ORDER! WORST EXPERIENCE TODAY with the MANAGER. His name is FREDO. We came in today for a to-go order. While we were waiting for our food to be done, we sat at the table by the door because IT WAS RAINING and we had nowhere else to go. It was me, my fiancé, and my sister-in-law. We were waiting by the small table next to the door that only had two chairs, so my fiancé grabbed another chair from the table behind us, a table that had no customers at that time. Then, a group of FOUR customers came in. Instead of handling it professionally, FREDO, the manager, told my fiancé in a rude and condescending tone in Tagalog to leave the chair and by shoving him away because there were customers who needed to sit at the 6-chair table behind us. He didn't politely ask or explain. He spoke in a way that was dismissive and disrespectful, as if we were an inconvenience for simply trying to stay dry while waiting for our food. It wasn't like we were hogging a whole table. We just needed one extra chair while we waited, and the table was still empty when we borrowed it. There was absolutely no need to speak to us like that. We were paying customers AS WELL, waiting for our food, and we weren't causing any disturbance. He could have simply asked politely or offered a solution. Even worse, he never offered any assistance or alternative. No offer to help us find a spot, no understanding that it was raining, no courtesy at all. Just attitude. The whole interaction made us feel unwelcome, disrespected, and humiliated in front of other customers. Even the customers who had just come in noticed how rude he was and told us that "it is okay, you guys can have it." They looked uncomfortable too, and even told us we could take the chair because they weren't going to use it. Despite that, the manager still insisted, saying He said, "No, no, no. They need to use it" and even claimed that we were blocking other customers even though there was plenty of space and we were not in anyone's way. The customers also repeated multiple times that they didn't mind and didn't need the extra chair. It wasn't just us who felt that his tone and approach were completely unnecessary. Everyone could tell it was handled poorly. Instead of de-escalating or offering help, he doubled down on being rude for no good reason. We were paying customers. We placed an order. We were just waiting, not loitering. There was absolutely no reason for that kind of behavior, especially from a manager. This place needs to seriously train their staff on basic customer service and how to talk to people with respect. read more

I came here for breakfast when they opened around 11am. The service was very quick and kind. We probably ordered and got our food in less than 15 minutes. They have a pretty standard filipino menu, all the popular things, including breakfast. The space is kind of small but the tables are big. I sat at a table for 2 people and it felt like a big table. I had the calamansi juice and it was perfect. For breakfas, I ordered the Longanisa Silog. I was able to chose from white or garlic rice, I think with no up charge for the garlic rice. It was a very generous serving. I had left over garlic rice to take home. My order came with 3 longanisa sausages which was enough for me personally. I was able to ask for my eggs over easy. My partner ordered the Lechon Kawali Silog and he was able to get his eggs over hard. They gave us some of soy/vinegar sauce and liver sauce and it was perfect for the lechon. (for example, we got the pancit first, and lumpia being one of the last items we got even though it's an appetizer) the food really hits the spot for me. one of my to-go orders is the combo. the combo gives so many options to try other meats for a solid price. my favorite taste wise is their lumpia. their filling taste the best and the texture is bomb.com. garlic rice is second for me, it slaps so HARD, i gotta get extra garlic rice next time. their lechon kawali's skin isn't that crispy/ is on the leaner side and can get dry so make sure to dip the sauce/ eat with the egg and rice. the tocino's cut of meat is more lean, but not as burnt as fil-i-am, but still pretty good. my companion really liked bangus sisig because it's so heavily flavored with sauces, textures, etc. their pancit to me, tastes good but my companion says it's not authentic but i like it. it's saucy but not as strong in flavor, so really good when eating alone or paired with other food. i like em. solid place for filipino food. will definitely go when craving filipino food in the future :)))) read more

No frills type of restaurants. You put your name down on a piece of paper and wait to be called. It was a busy saturday around 1 pm but while we waited it gave us time to look at the menu. Ordered the oxtail kare-kare which had the perfect peanut butter ratio and the meat was tender along with the agamang they give you on the side which was delicious. The bangus sisis and garlic rice hit the spot as well. Couldn't finish it and they give you a good container for the kare-kare. Chibog is truly the best Filipino I've ever had!! First, the portions are huge, and all the food is so yummy and high quality. Everything was well made and packed with love. The lechon was perfectly crispy and fatty. I don't normally love eating fat, but Chibog's lechon changed my mind! The meat MELTED in my mouth, but remained tender and juicy with extra crunchiness from the skin. The combo sisig was truly sizzling (and the flame left me proudly smelling like it after leaving the restaurant!) Delicious, authentic Filipino food, albeit everything was overly salted for our taste. We got some takeout and ordered the lumpia, lechon, pork sisig, and pancit. They do not skimp on the portions here - we easily had enough to feed our family of 4 for dinner that evening and still have leftovers for several days afterward. Our kids loved the lumpia - they give you a bunch of mini ones that fill up an entire box and our kids just feasted on that for their meal. The lechon was nicely fried but the meat itself was still fatty and juicy and they provided a sweet, brown dipping sauce on the side that paired nicely with the pork. The sisig and pancit were the dishes that were a bit too salted for our taste, although the food was still delicious. Finally got to visit Chibog again. I haven't been here since pre-pandemic and omg I missed their food so much! They're doing well it seems with the amount of takeout orders they receive. I dined here today around 4:45pm and they had so many takeout orders and four groups of guests eating inside. It sucks they close at 6pm now but it's their choice, so gotta respect it. I can safely say that after all this time, the quality of the food has stayed consistent. The sisig is still delicious! I love how finely chopped the pork was and how it wasn't excessively oily or fatty. The vinegar was the right amount and I have enough for leftovers! I also ordered the eggplant omelette also known as the tortang talong. I never had it before, but my hubs have and he declared it was great. It's best paired with banana ketchup which was served to us as well. My hubs' family usually cooks the eggplant cut so he thought it was unique the entire eggplant was cooked here with the egg. The bowl of garlic rice was good. They use minced garlic and the taste is pretty strong. It's definitely garlicky so don't expect anything less. The rice was not mushy and it wasn't dry! I'm pretty sure it's jasmine rice. All three items added up to around $45 before tip. It's worth it to support this local business y'all! Service was fine! They offered a wide range of traditional Filipino dishes at good prices. The restaurant is pretty small, I think the max inside is 50 so was pretty busy on a Sunday afternoon. We came at 12:30 as a party of 2 and had to wait 30-40 minutes to be seated. Food was served fast and service overall was good. We ordered silog combos, which comes with two meats, garlic rice and eggs. The meats we got were tapa, lechon kawali, tocino and liempo (not pictured). The tocino was my favorite, but all were good! The combos were $17 and generous servings. I took it home and had enough for breakfast the next day. We also ordered the mango juice and ube milkshake. The mango juice was just ordinary boxed mango juice, and the ube milkshake was extra creamy. The shake was a bit on the pricier side but good to try once.
