Been getting to-go orders from this place, but it's our first time doing a dine in. I like their kare kare. The tortang talong was too salty. The servers were vey nice & attentive. We had to wait about 20-30mins to get seated. Nothing special for the ambiance inside the restaurant.
Really enjoyed this Filipino spot -- the portions are generous, the food is flavorful, and everything came out fresh and satisfying. We ordered a couple of silog dishes along with the sizzling chicken sisig. One silog plate came with beef tapa (with the option of grilled or pan-fried) and chicken tocino, while the other included longanisa and pork tocino. Everything paired perfectly with their garlic fried rice, which was honestly one of the highlights of the meal. The sizzling chicken sisig was packed with flavor, and the portions were definitely enough to share or take leftovers home. Service was friendly and welcoming, and the staff made us feel right at home. I also noticed two different families order the lechon kawali and kare-kare, and both said those are their favorite dishes here -- definitely taking that as a recommendation for next time. Looking forward to coming back and trying more from the menu!
I was really excited to try this spot and ended up going all in with 5 dishes for takeout. Overall, the flavors leaned a bit on the salty side, especially the pork sizzling sisig. The Lechon Kawali was the star for me: a great balance of fat and meat with perfectly crispy skin that hit all the right notes. The halo halo was also a win, with generous amounts of toppings, though I still have to say Jollibee spaghetti remains superior in my book. One thing that surprised me was that the sisig doesn't come with rice; you have to add it on for an extra $4-5, which felt a little steep and not super clear upfront.
Stopped by Chibog on a Saturday around 5:45 PM and the line was already out the door. We waited about 30 minutes to get in, but once we were seated, the service was incredibly efficient: I was eating within 10 minutes of sitting down. I ordered the Chicken Tocino, and the portions are definitely generous. The chicken had a great, distinct char to it that added a lot of flavor, and the garlic rice was spot on. One heads up for regulars: They've changed their silog policy and now only serve one egg instead of two. The menu posted outside still says two, so check the physical menu inside for the most up-to-date info. Also, it gets pretty warm inside since there's no AC, so definitely keep that in mind if you're visiting on a hot day!
Came here for a weekday lunch and had a delicious meal. We got the pork sisig and the diniguan with a side of rice. The service was friendly and food came out quick. The sisig got a great crust on the bottom and the diniguan had rich flavor. It also came with a pepper you could break for some spice. Their hours are kind of odd, so it's hard to grab dinner there on a weeknight unless you have an early dinner. So maybe stop by for lunch or in the afternoon.
We came to Chibog after hearing it had the best sisig in town. The sisig came out on a sizzling plate. The portion was generous for two people to share. It was great - savory, crispy. We paired it with a side of garlic fried rice, which was the perfect combo. No complaints here as it wasn't ground breaking and just good old comfort food. I would definitely come back to try more Filipino classics on the menu!
Great Filipino food! Came here on a Saturday afternoon with a fairly large group of people (7) but we were seated pretty fast since some in our party arrived earlier than others. The restaurant itself is no-frills, which is what I expected. We ordered a handful of dishes to share: lechon kawali, chopsuey vegetables, lumpia shanghai, sizzling sisig, longanisa, and bowl of garlic rice. It was more than enough food for all of us, and we even had a good size of leftovers to take home. My favorite was the longanisa - it was so flavorful! The lumpia shanghai was good but a little drier than I'm used to. I would recommend everything except the chopsuey vegetables. It was pretty bland and felt overpriced for what it was (basically just standard mixed stir fry veggies with a bit of chicken in it). Overall, I would recommend coming here if you love Filipino food or want to try Filipino food! Would love to come back and try more things on the menu.
Someone saw me eating adobo at my kids swim class and told me I needed come here. And I'm glad they did. Chibog is fantastic: the food is great and flavorful, the servers are very friendly, and the portions are generous. We started with the lumpia Shanghai: the wrapper was crispy and light. The pork filling was tasty. We also got the sizzling sisig: this was a really good dish: the pork was shredded and very crispy from the skillet. However, I should note that it's more made of like shredded pork shoulder. I've also had sisig which is more made of fattier parts (like ears and tripe), which I really like. We also got the string beans and squash in coconut sauce. This was a great dish. My son doesn't usually eat vegetables, but he liked this. It pairs really nicely with the garlic rice (which was also outstanding).
Love this place!! For those who are unable to make the long lines at Katsuland, Chibog is also delicious! My favorite is the barbecue chicken a la carte - so good and plentiful portion! Simple goodness that should be part of any order. When I returned with friends, we got the sisig as well as the lechon. The sisig was unfortunately a little dry, but overall still very good. More of a 3.9, but it doesn't change the fact that I like Chibog's :) The lechon was unfortunately even drier so we were kinda hovering on a 2.9. The garlic rice it came with (it's an option for all the entrees) was good though so getting the combo add-on is a good choice for those who prefer more variety than straight meat. (Next time, I wanna try the calamansi drink which is one of my favorite citrus drinks it's an elite lemon lime from Philippines.) I'll definitely come back after a heavy gym session or if the lines at Katsuland are too long :) Salamat Chibog's!
The Shanghai lumpia were nice and crispy. The pork adobo was kind of middle of the road and wasn't very memorable

Was originally going to hit up King Katsu as a friend was interested in trying the spot; but there was a bit of a wait so we ended up deciding on going to Chibog instead. It was my first time here and but my friends have said the food was really good and it didn't disappoint! Came in on a Saturday around noon and we were able to grab a table without waiting. The restaurant has a chill and homey vibe to it; a very typical Asian style restaurant. Service was pretty good and staff was super helpful and attentive in answering any questions that we had. Staff came by often to refill waters as well. We decided to share 3 dishes: 1) BBQ Chicken(A La Carte)(8/10) - A very good BBQ chicken dish! Cooked to perfection; super juicy and tender - savory and lightly sweet along with bits of char for that smokey flavor! Portions are generous with about 6+ pieces of chicken thighs! 2) Sizzling Sisig(Combo with Egg)(7.5/10) - Not my favorite sisig, but a very good one! The combo comes with pork and chicken, which works pretty together; usually I opt for pork since it is more crispier and has more umami from the pork's fattiness. This sisig's flavor was well balanced with it leaning more towards tangy/sour taste profile. I just wished that the meat was crispier. The egg was cooked perfectly(over easy) and adds a bit of creaminess to the sisig when mixed together with the runny egg yolk. 3) Lechon Kawali(Silog - with Garlic Rice and Eggs)(6.8/10) - I thought this dish was just okay...the pork was a bit tough and dry; wasn't very crispy either. Maybe it was a bad batch or the pork that we got was a bit too lean. The garlic rice that came with the silog plate was very good; garlicky without being overpowering. Chibog is an very unassuming spot with Filipino comfort food that just hits the spot! The portions are super generous and the prices are reasonable! If you're ever craving Filipino food, this is a solid option to go to!
Kuya Fredo and Ate Gigi were very friendly and provided fast and attentive service. Food is delicious (just like Mom's home cooking). The restaurant is clean and packed with hungry locals. Can't wait to go back and try more items on the menu!
If you're craving for some home cooked Filipino food with generous portions, look no further because this place delivers! My brothers and I came here on a Sunday morning before the rush for our Super Sunday Feast. We ordered a little bit of everything for the three of us to share, and everything was amazing and freshly made. My personal favorite is a toss-up between the Kare-Kare classic and the Lechon. Honestly, everything we had was a hit. All the dishes paired well with the big bowl of garlic rice that came with our meal. The prices are very reasonable for the quality and portion sizes you get. The staff was very welcoming to us and throughout the meal, and you can see how hype they are to serve their delicious food. Just be prepared that you may eat so much that you'll fall into a food coma like we did. There is plenty of seating inside (about 30-36 seats), but the place gets filled quickly because of its popularity. They also have a decent sized parking lot that is shared with another popular restaurant.
I was pretty disappointed with my last visit to this place. To sum it up, it's service without a smile, and that's to put it kindly. As for the food, it really is just middle of the pack. I've had quite better tasting Filipino food around the South Bay and Easy Bay. I visited Chibog because of its feature on KQED. I was really hoping that Chibog was one of those hole in the wall hidden gems I would enjoy exploring, but I'm quite disappointed. We had the Lechon Kewali, Dinuguan, BBQ Chicken (ala carte), and the Halo Halo w/ Ube Ice Cream. Lechon Kewali was okay, but the rest felt like they missed the mark. The Lechon Kewali was comparable to other places I've visited. The Dinuguan just wasn't "rich", nor was it "chunky" with the good meaty, fatty, rich parts. It felt lacking and with too much vinegar. The BBQ Chicken was completely disappointing because of the amount of burnt-ness on the chicken, making large portions of it uneatable. This was very disappointing. The Halo Halo felt fine. It wasn't special. Small location with a small private lot for parking shared with other establishments. Chibog gets good traffic, so it gets busy--good for them. But there are other places that serve better tasting Filipino food at more affordable prices, but you may have to come to the South Bay (Pinot BBQ ATBP) or East Bay (Toppings Too) for them. I know we didn't try the Sisig, but nothing about Chibog would make us want to return even if we were in the area again. read more

The food is a little different, the karekare should be a little creamier ., maybe more peanuts in the sauce. The bagoong was extra .,The Crispy Beef Tadyang was delicious crispy outside and tender inside. The Garlic Rice was tasty. The portions are generous. The place is older now so its a little dated. Chibog is my go-to whenever I'm craving lechon kawali. I've ordered both takeout and dined in, and I definitely recommend eating there -- the lechon kawali comes out hot and crispy, way better fresh. The staff is quick and efficient, and the food usually comes out pretty fast. I've also tried their calamari (only available on weekends), lumpiang Shanghai, Filipino-style spaghetti, pork spare rib sinigang, and relyenong talong. Everything's been tasty and hits that comfort food spot. It does get pretty busy on weekends, and parking can be a bit of a headache since it's in a small plaza, so just keep that in mind. Overall, if you're in the area and craving Filipino food, Chibog is a solid choice. Nothing super fancy, but it gets the job done when that craving hits. read more
Came here on a Wednesday evening for an early dinner; had to be early since they close at 6pm. Place is clean and spacious, nothing fancy. Service is quick and decent. Portions are large. I don't know if it was authentic or not but everything was quite yummy. The fried pork belly was crisp, juicy and meaty. The garlic rice was flaky and had just the perfect amount of garlic and seasoning. It was so good and one could eat it with nothing else and still be happy. The green beans with kalabasa had a creamy coconut sauce that was delicious. The sizzling sisig was fried perfectly. We enjoyed everything. We will be back and do recommend. read more

Wow oh wow. The best Filipino food we've ever had all at one place. We're from San Diego and sure, we've tasted good Filipino food but never all of our favorite dishes from one place. -Pancit palabok -Oxtail Kare kare -Sinigang - bangus belly -Sizzling sisig -Garlic Rice I am usually not a fan of kare kare. It's either too peanuty or too thick/runny. It's just perfect consistency and taste great here. The sisig is also crispy and not too salty. The sinigang had so much fish. Service was ok. The place wasn't as clean as I would have liked, but the food was generally good. A few things stood out. The lumpiang Shanghai were quite good. One of the best i have had locally, with a crunch on the outside and very moist on the inside. The sinigang was very tasty. The lechon kawali was good. The skin was crispy and the meat was moist. The only real let down was the sisig. Sisig should be the whole pig's head chopped up fine and fried crispy, served with a squeeze of lemon and an egg cracked right on the whole with a sizzling plate. In this case I could only see what looked like the lechon kawali just chopped up finely, which isn't the sisig that i understand is the original and typical. It was good, but wasn't the expectation i had. read more

The food was tasty but had way too many onions that I recooked because they were not fully cooked and the amount of of meat (sisig) was minimal. I was very disappointed! I have never received such a small amount of food for $24. Dear Chinog reduces the amount of onions you add to the sisig and add 1/4 th more meat. Thanks read more
This place is always filled with people no matter what time of day I go. Most recently, I ordered to-go on a Sunday evening. After 40 minutes, I was able to pick up in my order in the packed restaurant with seating for around 30. The setting of the restaurant allows for the focus to be on family and friends; there are no major decorations or fancy seating. I ordered the Fried Lumpia and Pork BBQ Silog this time. Trying the Fried Lumpia for the first time, I enjoyed the crispiness and texture of the lumpia. The silogs are always so flavorful, and I am unable to finish one in one sitting (possibly due to its grease, but delicious nonetheless). It's hard to find good Filipino food in San Francisco. When I have the craving, I have to make my way to Chibog in Daly City to satisfy it, and it truly satifies my craving every time. read more

Ordered the bistek silog and pork bbq a la carte this past Friday around dinner time. Was quoted a 20 minute wait for takeout, but it was ready in just 10 minutes. These dishes had decent portion sizes, good for 2-3 meals. Lots of flavor too, the bistek a tad salty and could have used a little more onions, but it was still quite tasty, and the pork bbq somewhat sweet and smoky, with tender meat, which I enjoyed. The restaurant interior was simple, nothing particularly inviting about it, but offering a good amount of tables and seating for a casual dine-in experience. Hidden gem in Daly City for some authentic Filipino food It is tucked away behind the Benz dealership, so keep an eye out on the turn into the plaza! We ordered the following to share family style: -combo (pork and chicken) sizzling sisig - got a whole mound of meat and it sure came out sizzling -kare kare with extra veggies and bagoong on the side - note the bagoong is an extra charge, along with extra veggies. The oxtail was very tender and the peanut sauce wasn't overly peanut-y -bam-I- combination of vermicelli and canton noodles -garlic rice bowl - the garlic was very subtle, so it's good if you don't like strong garlic flavors -Laing - taro leaves cooked in coconut milk; I was told this was on of the few restaurants that served this so I had to try it. The taste wasn't what I was expecting, and it had a very earthy taste. I'm glad I tried it, but it wasn't my cup of tea. It is a small restaurant with plenty of seating. My friends and I went on a Wednesday during lunch and we were the first to be seated. There is plenty of parking in the plaza, so don't need to worry about that read more

Food was fine. Pricey, but fine. Was shocked that one of the dishes fit in a medium to go container and was $24 though. The sizzling sisig needs to have a piece of foil underneath it so this doesn't happen to someone else. We dug in less than half an hour after pick up so imagine commuting and having this happen (refer to pic). It was also in a produce bag, but who wants to eat out of a bag after the box has a hole burnt through? read more
Chibog is a no thrills Ambiance which meant they were all about the food. Filipino restaurant Mecca in my opinion lol I had Longanisa Silog Plate with garlic rice. The sauge was just the right balance of sweet and savory and the garlic rice was a hole in one paired with it . The Lumpia Shangha which was Like a taquito filled with pork Goodness crispy and flavorful. The Sizzling Sisig which Was chopped tender pork with onions, bell peppers and jalapenos and various spices. It was delicious dish they didn't miss. The service was fast and responsive & the portions were massive and the prices were on point. I would definitely want to visit there again read more

Came here on Sunday at 12:30pm and there was a 20- ish mins wait for my party of 4. Parking was pretty full but people came and go so it wasn't bad. Chibog is a small family run cafe and it's not the place if you're looking for nice ambiance.. ventilation was lacking but food was wonderful ! We Love the pork sizzling sisig-- it's a MUST if you dine here. We ordered both garlic rice and white rice to eat with it. It's super flavorful, savory and tangy. I could eat so much of it with rice BBQ chicken a la Carte: just like what it is-- bbq chicken! It's not a healthy option per se as the chicken breast was pretty charred. It's little too sweet to my liking. Pinakbet--- another dish I highly recommend. It's a dish made with shrimp paste and veggies like bitter melon, squash and beans. You do need some veggies after all with all these meats option on the menu right ? I'll definitely come back to try their other dishes. The server was knowledgeable and owner friendly. My go to place for chicken tocino silog as most places have this version in pork. There is a wait to sit down but well worth it. The downside is that you walk out smelling like Filipino food. But that's okay. read more

On our way to the airport from SF, craving Filipino food. CHIBOG came up on the search. Highly recommended. Food is so good. Quality traditional Filipino cooking. Chibog is a staple and it's hard to choose where to eat Filipino food in Daly City. You have hella good options everywhere. I haven't been here since I was a kid and it was welcomed. I don't usually crave Filipino food, but most of us decided to come here after filming. We were greeted pretty quick and were given waters right away. It's a no frills restaurant, Just tables and service. There was no wait time and we ordered right away. The food was good, I have no complaints. Prices are higher, but it's normal because of inflation. It was a good experience and I would come here again with a big group. It was good! read more

I absolutely loved their pork-chicken combo sizzling sisig, lumpia shanghai, and halo-halo topped with ube ice cream! My friend recommended this spot when I mentioned I was craving Filipino food (there's no Filipino restaurant in my area). The crew are also very accommodating and the place is very clean too. I love the music that they play, reminds me so much of my time in the Philippines. I'm so glad I stopped by before my flight back to Oklahoma. read more

I'm Filipino and have never tried the food here in Daly City yet so I couldn't wait to come and dine. Now, I know cooks are different and some cook different than others, etc etc, I get it. BUT, my first time dining here was just an ok experience. I will say, there were lots of people dining in and during my research, Chibog was one of the main staples and popular spots in the Daly City area. I finally came with my wife last weekend and we ordered a variety of things: Fried rice, Pork sinigang, and pork sisig. Their sinigang and sisig were both super salty. The sisig was basically shredded pork like carnitas and not like the original diced cubed pork. The sinigang had a balance of soup, veggies and pork which was great. The sisig had lots of pork but I wish there was mayo and that nice sizzling crispy pork instead of the shredded type. The food was tasty and did have lots of flavor but it was just over bearing with the salt. Honestly, I would definitely come back again because yes, the food was actually good. The prices were good and the portions were perfect. I just hope they monitor the sodium levels. read more

Alright alright... Chibog has been named my favorite Filipino restaurant. Today I waited about 15 minutes around 1:15pm, but might be worth mentioning that it's the Veterans Day observance holiday. The staff is friendly like your typical titas and titos. There's a lot of natural light that comes through the windows and the space is pretty open. I like (a lot) that they don't over crowd the place with tables. They're a small operation and it's part of their charm. After having the pancit (and loving it) during my first visit, I ordered a tray for my daughter's graduation party. It was a hit. So many people said they liked it and was asking where I got it from. I came with my brother to celebrate his favorite veteran (me lol), and we ordered a damn feast. Yes we over ordered, but I know the leftovers will be good and I'm looking forward to eating them! There was no room to complain about ANYTHING. Everything was so delicious!!!!! Kare kare- lots of meat and veggies. The sauce was thick and saucy. Sinigang (beef ribs)- the meat was so tender, again lots of meat and vegetables, sour and good tamarind flavor, the broth was piping hot. Sisig- the best. My favorite dish...and it was hella hard to choose a favorite. Tocino and lechon kawali were good as well. The portions are hefty and worth every penny. Next time I'll try the laing and halo halo if I don't get too full again lol. read more
A delicious unassuming Filipino spot in Daly City. We ordered the Sizzling Sisig, Chicken Adobo, Pancit Bihon, and Pork Tocino Plate. Most memorable dish for me would have to be the Sizzling Sisig. It comes out on a hot sizzling plate with a beautiful fried egg on top. The pork had the perfectly balanced savory and tart oomph in flavor, so delicious! Chicken adobo had amazing sauce and the pancit bihon had great savory flavors too. The pork tocino plate might have been slightly too fatty, but perhaps it was just the one cut of meat that I got that day, flavors were still good though! Service was relatively quick; the restaurant was busy preparing takeout orders as well as it seems to be a popular takeout spot. I wish this place stayed open longer instead of closing at 6/7pm! I mean..... daly city + filipino food = this place Located at a strip mall above the mercedes dealership, off gellert Plenty spaces in their parking lot Restaurant itself is on the smaller side, one way in and one way out. Dining area can seem spacious but not really.... about 8 mix and match tables. When u walk in, its dining space of tables and towards the back is a long counter with a register ....looks like a takeout kitchen. ....to be honest, this is NOT an inviting type of restaurant. If its packed, you gotta write your name and party number down on their notepad at the front table by the door. Note: When we got here before 1p on a tuesday it was 'busy' so we waited like 25 min for a seat. (Its because when peepss come to eat out, they like to take their time to eat and chill ...and if its a big party, they got no sence of urgency at all) When we sat we were ready to order ...went with their PORK SISIG, KARE KARE and TOFU SISIG, and WHITE RICE. we wanted to put the egg on the tofu and not on the pork and guess what..we was told that they can NOT do egg on the tofu, only the pork? Ummmm.....ok *****here is the kicckurrr tho...... they brought this meal out super fast. Hooked up a big bowl of rice for us to share. That tofu sisig came out awesomely noisy in its sizzling pan. The kare kare was beautifully displayed in a pot of peanut sauce....and when the pirk sisig came out, same song and dance with that nice smell of grease and flavors lol. The food taste was impressive. Very tasty, not too rich...not salty. Just really tasty and we enjoyed all of it. And they hooked up the alamang paste, too! Overall, i was primed to leave this joint a 3 star on the initial walk in and wait, but then the food came out and my thoughts changed. I will probably neer post a 5 star for any filipino restaurant because alot of things have to work right for that to happen ...but on food alone, this place is an honest 4 STAR spot. It's unfortunate that I live all the way in the North Bay because if this place was closer I'd eat here all the time. The first time we visited it was just me and my husband and we enjoyed everything we ordered and the portions were huge so we had lots of leftover to enjoy eating at home. Then last month we came here with our daughter and we all loved our dishes. The portions and taste are always consistent. And our dishes came out quick. The place is fairly small and it's always so busy which is a great sign and a good thing. But, both times we didn't have to wait to be seated. If ever you are in Daly City, I highly recommend trying this awesome and authentic Filipino restaurant. If we are in the area we will definitely come back. read more

Authentic Filipino food that my Filipino bf says tastes like his family's cooking! We tried the dinuguan and pork Sisig, which were good but not amazing. Sisig definitely would have been less dry, and the egg yolk was not enough to coat the dish. Both dishes were salty, but did flavors were one dimensional. I'm giving it 3 stars because the costs are steeper than we expected, at around $20 a dish. read more

Chibog has been a family favorite for years! For being a smaller restaurant they always do an amazing job at squeezing our group of 10 comfortably inside. We tend to order a large variety from the menu and honestly we haven't found a single dish we dislike yet. The staff is also really good about cooking quickly and getting the food out to us so everything is piping hot for the entire table! My only downside to this place is the parking situation. Definitely carpool if you're a larger group, this parking lot is shared with a few other businesses in the same plaza so it can be a struggle to find parking. read more

Is the restaurant wheelchair friendly?
Yes indeed it is. There's plentiful room for a disabled person to maneuver and have space to eat; However, I haven't visited the bathroom yet to complete your question.
Do they have arroz caldo?
I didn't it see on the menu when we went there a few months ago. If you are really thinking about eating there it's best to call ahead of time and ask if they serve arroz caldo.
Are the prices posted on the party trays for half or full? Are these prices up to date? Thank you!
