While it's marketed as a quick, trendy facial bar, it ended up being very expensive for what you get, not relaxing, and overall pretty gimmicky. I added a "tech neck massage" and an oxygen facial, which drove up the cost. The massage was 3 minutes AND was part of my 30 minute service, it did not extend it despite it being an additional $15 for each add on. I had heard about their $35 first facial promo using the code "virgin," which in hindsight should've been my first red flag. Real original first time user promo code, I hate the try-hard edginess of it all. During the appointment, the upselling was constant. Products, memberships, add-ons, it never really stopped. And again, this is on me. I did cave and ended up purchasing both a membership and a product. Very loud music + overdone neon signs. I didn't find it enjoyable or worth the cost. I ended up spending around $200 after add-ons and products, some of which I didn't even receive and had to call about later to get refunded. Overall, felt more like a rushed retail transaction than a spa service. The open-concept layout offers no privacy, and the space itself felt worn and not particularly clean. Chicago winters are messy, but the salt and slush made the floors look dull and chalky, and the chaise lounges were visibly worn with exposed inner material. That said, I can see how this model might appeal to a different audience. For example, I think it could actually be a fun option for a tween birthday party. The quick service, energetic atmosphere, and shorter treatments might suit that demographic well. I don't mean that negatively. Overall, not a bad service, just very gimmicky for 30 year olds and not worth the price point.

Alyssa was super patient and spoke to me for a good twenty minutes before we settled on a treatment plan. I felt like it was a collaborative exercise, and a far cry from previous visits to dermatology clinics that had a very top-down approach to treatment. The assistants helping her were also absolutely fantastic and extremelt personable. Importantly, everyone was tremendously kind. The receptionists at the clinic are also lovely, and always made me feel welcome not just during the first visit but during subsequent visits. It has been roughly five months since my first visit, and my skin is so much better. The inflammation and breakouts are gone, and only hyperpigmentation remains. I highly recommend Pinski Dermatology if you have severe acne and are tired of trying everything under the sun. You will not regret it.

I struggled with severe perioral dermatitis for a long time and saw multiple providers before finding Dr. Pinski. He was the only dermatologist who was able to get it under control, and for that I will always be incredibly grateful. Unfortunately, my more recent experiences left me disappointed. After I moved, I received a text message from a debt collection agency regarding a small outstanding balance. I was never notified by the office that I had an unpaid bill before it was sent to collections. I was a patient there for many years and had built great relationships with several of the front desk staff. It was really upsetting that no one picked up the phone or sent me a notice about such a minor balance before sending it to collections. That felt like poor patient service and completely unnecessary. I also had laser treatments for rosacea there two times. The procedures were extremely painful, to the point that my face was swollen for days afterward. I was not offered any type of anesthetic--not even a topical numbing cream. As a nurse, I found that surprising and disappointing. I've had other facial procedures elsewhere that were far less invasive, and at a minimum I was offered topical anesthetic. Those laser treatments were honestly among the most painful experiences I've had, and I consider myself to have a very high pain tolerance. I'm genuinely thankful to Dr. Pinski for helping resolve my perioral dermatitis, but the way my account was handled and my experience with the laser treatments ultimately overshadowed what had otherwise been years of positive care.
