A classic whenever we're in the area for their $11 burger, fry, and beer or non alcoholic drink special! They seemed to have up their game recently - last night the fries were well seasoned and the burger was even more flavorful. The food comes out promptly. The non alcoholic beverages are self serve in the fridge. Great spot for dine in or take out.

Always come here when I'm in the area. Such a great spot for a good burger and some beer. Nothing can beat the price!! 11$ combo and +2 for beer is amazing. George(owner) is great to talk to as well!

Everything there is amazing! George really loves what he does and he loves. Sharing his creation. Get the breakfast in America! Fries are good also!

One of my all time favorite local spots to have a burger at! There is always a crowd here, which makes it feel very lively. The prices are affordable with their generous meals that come with both a drink and fries! There is a large drink selection to choose from ranging between teas, sodas, and even energy drinks. The owner is also extremely friendly and makes the restaurant feel like a second home. The food always comes out quick and tastes amazing. Big Shoulder - Juicy, seasoned perfectly. The fries are seasoned generously and have a fresh taste to them.

This is the best burger shop I've ever been to!! George is the owner and I love seeing him every time I walk into this shop. He really brings the life and energy and connects with each of his customers in a way that draws them to come back. On top of that, the deals here are amazing. A burger, beer and fries, ALL FOR $11?? This is by far one of the best restaurants I've experienced in San Diego and I will keep coming back and recommending it to everyone :')

First time here even though I've walked by Chicago fire grill multiple times. Seems like the owner is usually there and is aware his prices are affordable. I got a grilled chicken sando with fries for $10 and that's hard to find these days. Without a doubt this place loves Chicago. It's a unique find in San Diego and I would say that it feels like he gotta be ready for the gruff of the service and hopefully you are there for the hotdog dogs, the burgers and the fries. My chicken sandwich was seasoned well and you could actually see that they use fresh ingredients and they get away with it at a good price so I can see why so many helpers like this place

Chicken gyro and fries

I was in the area and decided to try this place! So glad I did! Not only was the chicken gyro AMAZING (chicken so tender and juicy) but the drinks and service are top tier! The owner is the sweetest man and the environment is very family oriented! Highly highly recommended and excited to come back to try different items on the menu!

Highly recommend this place! It definitely hit the notes for Chicago food and the owner, George, is the nicest guy. Truly showed me Midwest hospitality before knowing I was from Chicago or Greek. I got Da Beef and they actually dunk it! It was a real Chicago Italian beef and I couldn't get enough of it. Paired with the giardiniera equals *chefs kiss.* I upgraded to Garlic Fries and they had plenty of fresh garlic and were freshly cut potatoes. Even as leftovers, everything was delicious! The Pita and homemade Tzatziki was also very good! You honestly can't go wrong with anything.

This place is awesome. Super cheap burger fries and beer combo. The burger itself was pretty damn good - great char and juicy. The fries were crispy and well seasoned. The owner was also extremely nice.

Easily one of the best burgers I've had. Genuinely, this is a burger that I would make myself at home which means it has everything I want. Well seasoned, thick, juicy, and medium well with PERFECT caramelized onions (not burnt) and generously seasoned fries. For me though, making a burger of this caliber is so tedious that I only ever do it for special occasions (for others). However, for a simple price of $11, you get ALL of that PLUS a beer. Legitimately, you cannot beat this. The owner is extremely friendly and shows his passion. He loves checking up on his customers to see if they like his food and even gave out water bottles if needed. I sat outside on a cloudy day, and it felt like the sun came out with this burger. Idk what else to say I love this place and will be back.

Plain cheeseburger (my choice), fries and a local craft beer for $11!

Best deal in town! This place is across from UTC mall, in the CVS shopping center and they have the best deal in town. For $11 you get a gourmet burger. French Froes and a local craft beer. Today I had a Kona big wave. You can even upgrade to garlic fries or truffle fries for a small fee. I challenge anyone to find a better deal in the Holden Triangle area!

Da Beef & Da Sausage

Chicago Fire Grill is a refreshing, homey break from the upscale options in University City/La Jolla. This is a small walk-up to order restaurant with ample seating inside (better suited for parties with a few people; although there are some seating options outside). Menu items include various hotdogs, sandwiches and burgers focusing on beef & sausage with different toppings as well as gyros, soup/salad and fries. I tried Da Beef & Da Sausage with au jus and peppers as well as Da Sausage with marinara sauce and peppers and truffle garlic fries. These sandwiches are tasty and simple. The meat is definitely seasoned well and little spicy with some kick. The fries tasted good as well but I thought that they could be more crispy. Overall, great place and I will be coming back!

Dirt, cheap, Chicago eats - but it's good too. $11 burger, fries and local beer special - can't be beat. Tried the chicken sandwich and it was freshly grilled and flavorful. Came with fries and a free water bottle too. There's a small indoor dining area and a TV. But you come here for the cheap food and not the ambience. I would highly recommend this place when you want. Comfort sandwiches or a burger and beer. I hear their gyros are pretty good too.

Thick juicy and delicious!

Ask the Community - Chicago Fire Grill

Is the food halal?

The owner says that the food is halal. I can put vouch for the ground beef and am not sure whether the food is strict halal (e.g. different grill if any non-halal food is in fact cooked there)

Is the burger halal?

Yes, it is.

Is the meat halal?

Yes, it is.

Does it offer halal menu?

The chicken, lamb and steak are halal but not the beef!

Is this the same place from back in the day called "Chicago on a Bun?

Sadly no. I miss that place!

We picked PERUVIAN STEAK SANDWICH, a seared steak tossed in Spicy aji amarillo sauce, then their CHIMICHURRI STEAK BACON; it's a seared steak and applewood-smoked bacon, and also got their SMOKEY BBQ BRIOCHE SANDWICH , this one is a smoke Pork burnt ends with BBQ sauce. Every sandwich we had tasted good, but i like the most the Chimichurri Steak & Bacon, it's more to my palate, not too sweet or not too spicy. I think I was sitting in the store for at least 30 minutes while a family member waited in our car and watched several people park, get their orders and leave. Two people who ordered after us received their food before we did. I finally stood up and only then did an associate crabbily pack up our order and give it to us. When we first arrived, no one even showed up at the counter for at least five minutes. There was another customer waiting behind us as well. My sandwich (Happy Hippie) was not very good...insubstantial and put together in a blah manner. A family member who had the "not so fried chicken sandwich" said it was too salty. I paid $62 for this order (with a tip, which I had added before the long wait...) It obviously wasn't a good value, This is a beautiful and clean store but a general lack of enthusiasm from the associates, inconsistent customer service, high prices, and mediocre quality food will dissuade me from making any future visits to this location.

My sandwich was made perfectly and was ready at the time I set for pickup after ordering ahead on the app. I got the Terrell Davis which comes with turkey, avocado, bacon and Swiss. Asked for light dirty sauce. All the flavors worked really well together and it didn't eat too salty. Loved that they had a good amount of avocado in it too. It's located right at the entrance of the strip mall as you're driving in. Decent amount of parking but it was very busy when I came on a Tues during lunch. They have both indoor and outdoor seating, more indoor though.

The bread stands out immediately, fresh and soft inside with a satisfying, slightly firm crust that holds everything together perfectly. While the shop itself is small and seating is limited, the quality of the food makes the extra effort to grab a spot absolutely worthwhile. Prices are on the higher side, so be prepared to spend a bit more than your average sandwich stop. That said, the restaurant is clean, well-organized, and easy to navigate -- a nice bonus when you're juggling all those tempting menu choices. BOARD AND BREW @ UTC LA JOLLA…read more Parking is free for the first hour since this location is inside the UTC La Jolla Mall. Just keep that in mind if you're planning to spend more time at the mall or eat at one of the restaurants here. I've been to Board & Brew many times, and I usually go to the Pacific Beach location because it's right by the beach and the perfect place to grab a sandwich. This time, I was craving one and decided to stop by the UTC location. One thing I absolutely love about Board & Brew is their signature sauce. There's just something about it, it's tangy, flavorful, and honestly one of my favorite sandwich sauces. I came here with a friend who had been wanting to try Board & Brew since it's a San Diego-based chain, and she really enjoyed it too. The ordering process is simple. You walk in, look over the menu, and choose between their hot or cold sandwiches. My go-to is always the Turkey Club. The bread is so soft, and I love the classic combination of turkey and bacon. The sandwiches are usually around $12-13, which I think is a fair price considering how big they are. One sandwich is definitely enough to fill one person up. I always ask for extra sauce, and this location was super generous with it, which I really appreciated since some other locations charge for extras. This restaurant is a bit smaller than some of the other Board & Brew locations I've visited, but it still had a great atmosphere. The staff were friendly, the service was fast, the restroom was clean, and because it's inside the mall, the environment feels lively and energetic. Overall, I had a really great experience and would definitely come back.

Didn't think I'd get back into sandwiches again but I've gotten partial to the Italian Sub, toasted for extra crunch I'll admit UTC's six taps pale vice Scripps Ranch's 13, but they're well-curated with fine SD craft, always a cold WCIPA and a hazy. The service is quick and courteous even when they're slammed, and sunny days people-watching out front's a gas!

Cheese Shop and Sandwiches in La Jolla Shores is super popular with locals and tourists mainly for…read moretheir sandwiches and oatmeal cookies. This shop on Avenida De La Playa, which is the Main Street closed off from cars, so people can walk freely, but parking is a challenge. The cheese shop can't be missed, with the green ivy covered store front. It's standing round only, no seating inside but limited outside seating. You order from the counter and they bring your order to you if you decide to sit outside. I selected the popular sandwich: Turkey, Jack Cheese and Avocado on sourdough bread with every veggie: lettuce, tomato, red onion was all it had. Just baked from the oven were the famous oatmeal cookies in caramel and chocolate, looked so yummy I didn't order any but the guy behind the counter complementary gifted a pair to me, so nice, friendly and cool!! Inside the shop didn't appear clean, I would describe the ambiance as divey. Sat outside and shortly my order was presented nicely wrapped sandwich and warm cookies. Took pics and took a bite and my consensus is that I was not a fan of this sandwich because I really prefer smoked turkey and not plain turkey. The sandwich looked subpar, the layering of ingredients weren't assembled as aesthetically layered as it can be and tasted just ok. My pup usually doesn't like smoked turkey or unfresh meats but she liked this plain roast turkey, which means it's more likely fresh and pass her approval. She also ate the contents of the sandwich sans the bread and onions of course. The oatmeal cookies were a real treat and lived up to the hype, kind of gooey, yummy and good for you...hence oats is fiber! As a cheese aficionado, this shop is not really a cheese shop with no abundant cheese selections. The shop should just be named sandwich shop, since sandwiches and candies seem to be their cash cows. If you're looking for a cheese shop, this isn't the place, but it might the place for a sandwich. Recommend
