The older man working here was super rude to me and wouldn't even let me quickly place an order to- go with my service dog. I wasn't even trying to eat in the cafe. He told me I had to leave and was super rude to me! Will never return. I'm updating this based on Robert's response. The fact that he denied service is not why I am claiming him to be rude. It was the fact as soon as I entered this establishment I was met with an immediate condescending attitude from the worker Rob questioning me about my service animal. This little shop is located in a residential apartment complex, no we are talking La Jolla, so it it nice. The parking is just past the shop in a structure. There are many guest spots but it is busy. The shop itself is set up for carry out and pick up more so than dine in. The only seating is on the nice patio in front. The menu is like that of a typical sandwich shop with the option for their select favorites, daily specials and a build your own option. I built my on pastrami on rye. No fountain drinks, but a full coffee espresso bar. Sandwich was made with fresh bread, meat and veggies. The proportion of ingredients including Italian dressing and mayo made this sandwich extremely tasty. The price does not out pace the quality and satisfaction of this lunch. I have to say this is one of the best sandwiches I've ever had. I was born and raised in San Diego and grew up on sandwiches and trying so many different places, but nowhere comes close to an authentic deli sandwich like crossroads deli does. I've been living here at La Jolla Crossroads with my girlfriend since August 2025 and we both love these sandwiches and love supporting the very nice people who work here day in and day out. Parking garage with their two reserved spots is a little bit beyond the deli and towards the right. I was very excited to try this local deli. I've lived in the UTC area for 7 years but only learned of this deli via Yelp last night. Lots of seating on the outside. There is a menu without prices on the outside of the building. As soon as you enter there is a large menu on the wall with pricing. Everything is clean inside and out. I chose the BYO double sandwich with roast beef, ham, and provolone on squaw. They were happy to take my request of no tomato and extra onions. I also added bacon for the additional $2. I think without the bacon the double meat sandwich would have been filling enough. The sandwich also came with a crispy pickle slice. I loved that they drizzled their Italian dressing on the lettuce. With the Italian dressing, mustard and mayo the sandwich was never dry. They provided so much meat that the dressing also helped break the monotony. For the cost of the double it is on the pricier side, but I understand why since they provide so much meat. Next time I'll go for just one meat and maybe add bacon, since my choice of the double plus bacon was incredibly filling for me. The lady that took my order was very kind. I look forward to returning again to try their specialty sandwiches and daily specials! read more

I used to buy from Crossroads Deli often, but today's sandwich was a disappointment. What I received was barely half the size of my usual order. Crossroads clearly thinks shrinking portions will pad their bottom line, but that short‐sighted move has cost them my business for good. Loyalty means nothing when you yank the rug out from under regulars with tiny separations. If you're looking for a deli that still values its customers, steer clear until Crossroads remembers what made them popular in the first place--quality, consistency, and respect for the people who keep their doors open. You KNOW a place is worth going to when there's some order confusion but the team can still provide A1 service while trying to get a bunch of orders out the door. Thursday Rush Hour 12:50 PM Placed an online order and an hour later, called in since I needed to place another order. Arriving at the small shop, I picked up my online order. Waited for a bit for my phone order and after a little bit, the gentleman at the register (surrounded by at minimum 15 orders ready for pickup, bunch of tickets waiting to be completed) asked if I was waiting on something else. I told him that I was still waiting on my phone-in order and told him my name. He looked a little confused and then after a minute or so, recalled what happened - the mix up between online order and phone order. He quickly rang me up, explained what had happened and kept me updated on my order status constantly. Soon after, I was on my way with my sandwiches. Customer service - Fantastic. Got the Reuben, toasted. Was so good. LOL Sorry fellow Yelpers, no photos today. The minute I sat down, that sandwich was ANNIHILATED. Flavor of the beef, melty Swiss, sauerkraut (not too sour, perfectly pickled) - Spectacular. Sandwich was too good I forgot to stop for a photo (oops) - but the way the team today handled the order mixup deserved a shoutout so here I am. Every apartment complex has a swimming pool and its own deli, right? That's right, this is a sandwich shop located within an apartment complex. These aren't exactly budget apartments but this is still quite an amenity. For parking, drive past the restaurant and make a right into the garage. There are a few spots specifically reserved for customers right inside the entrance. Lots of options here. There are a number of special sandwich creations or you can just make your own. The Al's Famous Club (turkey, bacon, avocado) is big and delicious. You got your choice of bread and yes, you should get the brown squaw bread. All of the ingredients were very fresh. Very friendly service and they crank these sandwiches out quickly. Prices are reasonable for the quantity and quality. Really good stuff. read more

Rachel and rueben is where its at! Rachel is the perfect contrast of swert and savory. The smoked pastrami combined with the sweet refreshing coleslaw makes me feel like ill never get sick of this sandwich. The rueben, made with corned beef offers the savory and sour, loaded with saurkruat. The sandwiches may not seem like a lot of food but im always feeling pretty full afterwards. Service is also top notch! Always have had a good experience here. No toddler specific menu items but the french fries here worked great read more

Stopped by Crossroads Deli for a quick lunch. First time here so we tried a few different sandwiches.  We ordered the Monday meatball special, Italian torpedo, Al's famous club, potato salad, pasta salad, and lots of fries. The deli was very clean and only allowed customers to come in to order, pay, and pickup. There were plenty of tables outside with heaters. It was a rainy Monday afternoon so it was nice that the patio was covered and warm. Not sure what his name is, but the guy at the counter was super friendly! Made good recommendations and an overall nice guy.  I am always looking for good delis to try and very happy that I found this one. read more

This place is San Diego's best kept secret. Coming from LA, I never really found a local sandwich place down in San Diego that was both tasty and well balanced. I got a turkey sandwich and the sauce was soooo good, the sandwich was not soggy, and the ingredients were really high quality. I live nearby and have passed the sandwich shop a few times, and it wasn't until today where I went into the deli at La Jolla Crossroads. It is a very cute and clean place. I really don't know why I slept on this place for so long! Crossroads Deli is located in an apt complex, as the name suggests, at La Jolla Crossroads. It might look unassuming from the outside next to a leasing office, but they have the best sandwiches around. They have a great selection of sandwiches, wraps, salads and beverages all displayed on a well-thought out, easy to read menu both outside and inside the store. The store inside is clean and well organized with some refrigerated foods and drinks to go. Their specialty sandwiches are very reasonably priced and HUGE. One can easily split one sandwich into two smaller meals. Ordered the Al's famous club and tuna salad sandwich today and they exceeded my expectations in every way. Fresh, crunchy vegetables along with generous amounts of protein, perfectly toasted bread and well-balanced seasonings/sauces. The tuna salad had an added depth of flavor compared to other ones I've had before, which I really enjoyed. Their daily specials will definitely keep you coming back for more! read more

The staff feels like a family and there's a very strong sense of welcoming throughout the ordering experience. Parking is free but a little weird to navigate, but just make sure to look in one of the structures. The food is basically top notch deli.
