These folks are amazing!! I was locked out of my condo and had a different locksmith come out who really messed up my door. I was locked in at one point and could not get out. My family owns a condo in Chicago that we've been renting out since I moved back to MI 10 years ago. Back in April our tenant let us know that the lock to the front door was acting up. Great experience today with Chicago Locksmiths! Super easy to set up and confirm my appointment. Everyone that I dealt with was kind, courteous, and professional. My locksmith, David, called to confirm that he was on his way and was just a real joy to have working in my home. He replaced a decades old lock with a new deadbolt and August smart lock. Unfortunately, my new doorknob wouldnt work with the old doorknob...contraption thingy but he explained why (super long...contraption thingy) that is a different mechanism than the doorknob that I bought. But he measured and let me know that the new contraption thingy I found on Amazon was what I needed. So, once I buy it I'll have them back out to replace it. Highly recommend. read more

I called Chicago Locksmiths and I was pleasantly surprised to be asked a series of questions to determine the urgency of my need. I scheduled my service and was given a 2 hour arrival window. On the day of my service, the Locksmith called at 8:30a to inform me of when he would arrive within the 2 hour window. I would give this company a BIG FAT ZERO if I could. After providing my address and waiting an hour for a technician to call me, the tech said he was on the way and that it would take 45 minutes. I wait another hour and then receive a call from the call center saying the technician had something come up and he wasn't going to be able to make it today. The caller provided no further information like "we'll be able to get someone out later today, tomorrow, or whenever". This seemed strange to me so I began to ask the caller various questions. In the end what I found out is that after making me wait and even saying they were on their they decided they didn't service my area or more accurately denied me service because of where my house was located. Aiden was great; he let me know what my options were, what he could and could not do due to the type of door I have. Everything was great. I had an intercom system installed by then. They did a great job. So when I needed a few other things done for my business, I called them back. I called them to get a deadbolt installed and a master key for all my locks and it was honestly terrible service. When they arrived, the guy told me he didn't have enough time to do the master key system because his shift ended in an hour...despite me booking the appointment for 1-3p...him arriving right at 3p. Then he told me if he installed the deadbolt today and had to come back to do the master lock system, it would be two service fees. I definitely expressed my frustration because that was the entire reason for the appointment. After he looked at the front doors, rooms inside and the back door, he told me he couldn't do a master key system because I had a quick set handle but then Schlage locks, etc. what in the HECK?! Isn't that the point of a locksmith?! The only reason I called them instead of the other locksmith I've used for rekeying (nonstop) was because I used them for the intercom. Extremely dissatisfied in the service and the call. Basically paid $243 for installation of a deadbolt and he did change the lock on one of my doors...but I'm still left with 6 different keys because he wasn't able to do the master key. Next time I need an actual locksmith, I'm definitely going with nonstop. I've never had a problem with them. read more

I had several locks added due to security concerns. They didn't work...the technician returned and he could get the lock to work with some jiggling- this is a brand new. Another technician came for an unrelated lock and he did some work. The locks only work with a particular key. I had a different company come to look at it and fixed pins that weren't correctly aligned across several locks. Go to a different company! I spent over $3000 dollars with this company. They're terrible and incompetent. I chose to respond $1000 dollars to repair things correctly. What a wast of time, money and energy! read more

I wish I'd engaged Chicago locksmiths a long time ago, but they handled all our lock/door needs across our old place and new the last couple months. They replaced 4 hard to use locking mechanisms and door HW at our new place and installed a smarty entry system. At old place, Tweaked some old style door knobs, installed a new storm, and did the hydraulic install for an existing storm door. real solid work - they can help with most anything and can save you a bit by you ordering most materials. read more
