Highly recommend! Excellent service and at the best price. Demetrious changed the door knobs of our exterior doors (back and front doors). I reached out through yelp (along with a number of others) and he sent me the most convenient quote that same day (compared to 4 others) and came over the next to provide a perfect service. He changed my door knobs and for no extra charge made our keys work for both the new door knob and our additional lock. He also advised that we take a picture of our key in case we ever get locked out, because with the pattern, a locksmith can let us in without having to break the lock, which would be necessary for our door knob type. In sum, he went above and beyond and not only provided the service we asked for but enhanced our key experiences in ways we didn't know we needed (for no extra charge!). A real locksmith! Our antique front door lock broke after 100 years... Other companies told us it was impossible to fix (without even looking at the lock) and quoted us thousands to replace the lock, telling us they could not maintain the antique panel (which we wanted to keep). Demetrius was great. He came out quickly and assessed the lock and door. After he determined what the issue was, he put a lot of leg work in to try to repair the original lock. Unfortunately, the lock had to be retired, but Demetrius provided multiple solutions and alternatives that allowed us to maintain the original door plate and secure the house. This was all done at a FRACTION of the cost quoted to us by other companies. He is very knowledgeable and was a delight to work with. The man never told me from the beginning about not able to return the product due to the Covid 19 pandemic. He told me, " I give you the reciept if you do not like it." Called to get a price for opening car door. It was after hours so I hit the voice prompt for emergency service. Got a guy who said he wasn't on call but his " manager" was and that he would forward my number to him. After waiting a while, I called another locksmith. Turned out it was the SAME COMPANY! Again, talked to the same person! and was told I would receive a call any minute but it never came. What would it hurt to take less than a minute to call someone just to acknowledge, even if job is declined! Only reason I have 2 stars is cause the guy on the phone seemed genuinely apologetic. Can they make a key that works? Yes. Do they open on time after you call that very morning to verify what time their doors open? No. Are they open to ordering new products for a new consistent client? No. I own a dog walking service in Chicago and live a block away from these folks. The nature of my business means we deal with keys - and a lot of them on a regular basis. I went in to introduce myself in the hopes of building a long standing relationship. The owner's wife was VERY short with me. I showed her the key tags we use and when she abruptly said they don't carry that kind, I asked if maybe she had a product catalog from her supplier that I could look at to see if they could be ordered - wasn't even willing to consider the possibility of finding the product for me. I asked about emergency services - she told me I could call, but more than likely, wouldn't get a live person after business hours. I have since gone into a few other locksmiths and they have ALL bent over backwards to help me in the hopes of earning my trust and business. It's really too bad.....these folks are so convenient to where I live, but I guess they don't want or need new business all that badly. read more

I have to say this is the best locksmith I have ever encountered and I have had to use a locksmith a few times in my lifetime. This time I put my key in the lock turn and the key breaks in the lock. What a nightmare. I am new to the neighborhood and thanks to my phone ap "around me" I locate the nearest locksmith and it was Ace Locksmith. I needed a couple of keys made to my gate and front door. Sounds simple right? Apparently, that is wrong. I had keys made at Home Depot, they did not work at all. I then tried the Sears "key shack" on Lawrence, those keys worked sort-of (if you wiggled the key and got it to just the right spot - not an easy task for some reason). I read Kathy M's review of Ace Lock & Key and decided to give them a try. I had four keys made and every one of them works flawlessly! It is such a small thing but to have a key that works with out "jiggling" it makes coming home with a bunch of bags in tow a much less painful event! All I know is they can take an apparently difficult key to copy and make duplicates that work perfectly! read more
