This is the worst pizza I have ever had! I've tried multiple times, in store and delivery. The sauce tastes like canned tomato sauce, they are clearly trying to save money by giving half the toppings most pizzerias do, and they did not care at all when I was displeased. Hi, I have been living in Vail part-time since 2004. I am still living in Vail part-time however my husband and two children have been living in Vail full-time since 2010. They have been going to Chicago pizza forever and they always talk about the excellent/good the pizza is they get there. I'm a bit of a "health nut" and I rarely eat pizza but tonight I decided to try some. Because the rest of the family is gone and I have a girlfriend coming up and she loves pizza. Let me begin by saying, Vicky, the owner of this establishment is awesome! She will make your day brighter just by going in and speaking to her. She is upbeat, feisty, and a joy to be around. During the weekend Vail had their GoPro events, Vicky was nice enough to allow our company to fill up her entire restaurant with our employees for a couple of hours. She made sure the tables were set up before we got there, had salads ready, and even drink tickets available. She was on the ball! After a weekend of Camping and a late start home to avoid all the traffic on I-70 we realized its 8 o'clock and still haven't fed the kids a "REAL" supper. Apparently Popcorn, Marshmallows and Capri sun doesn't count as dinner, per my wife. With that in mind, we stopped at Chicago pizza along the highway cuz my GPS told me to. By the time we rolled into the parking lot at Chicago Pizza they had been closed at least a half hour. Que cera cera, While bouncing ideas off my travel mates, the hostess came out to offer their services to go. I thought that was very generous, We would have rolled to the more expensive Lions head area of Vail, but this young lady offered to make us dinner. We jumped at the chance mostly because we were tired and hungry, but also because trying a local pizza joint gets my blood pumping. I had to keep it simple, small pepperoni to go and the lady gave me the paper plates and napkins we needed. I think it was 13 dollars even which I felt was reasonable, A small in Denver is around 8 bucks. Add in the mark up because its Vail and the price is decent. The pizza was nothing like Chicago style, but that doesn't matter; It was a thin crust pie, the toppings were abundant and evenly distributed and the sauce was good. The pizza was pretty damn tasty overall. I would definantly stop at this place again. The hours are a bit interesting, 11 to 2 for lunch then reopen at 5 to 9 for the dinner crowd. Word. read more

Wow, I've lived in Vail since 1997, and have had their pizza before, years ago, and it was never this expensive but really is the competition that much that you need to charge this much??? Not sure why everyone is hating on this place but I was able to order pizza all the way from California as a surprise dinner for my sister who was staying at the Four Seasons Hotel in Vail, CO and they were so nice on the phone! I was able to order and pay for everything over the phone and they delivered right to her suite. My sister took a bite (while I was on FaceTime with her) and she was deeply satisfied (this totally sounds inappropriate but it's true!). She asked me to leave a good review on Yelp and so here I am. She says they even packed a little cup with parmesan cheese for the pizza - I mean how awesome is that? The red wine was ice cold and not great, but that is probably to be expected for this type of place. Service was decent if you dine in, although you have to order at the counter. That is because the couple who own this delightful pizza place use only daily fresh, hand selected ingredients. When I first saw my pizza, I thought I had hand selected the basil, tomatoes, olives, meat, etc. The atmosphere is warm, inviting, and comfortable. When you see locals dining here, you know it is good. I can honestly say it was one of the best pizzas I have ever eaten; and I am 75 years old and consider myself a gourmet cook! Do not leave Vail without stopping here for lunch or dinner. They are open 7 days a week and Vicky and/or Mark will go above and beyond to ensure your order is more than you expected or anticipated. This was my first time visit. I will return. Wine and beer are on the menu as well as salads, appetizers, dinner entrees, sandwiches, and desserts. I previously lived in Chicago and this pizza was nothing like Chicago-style pizza....the worst part was the extremely large unflavorful crust, which was not even thoroughly cooked all the way through. Literally there was raw dough in the middle. Putting the Chicago-style thing aside, the pizza as a whole was very bland and honestly some of the worst tasting pizza I've ever had. Probably some of the worst and most expensive pizza I've ever had! We spent $80 to get two pizzas and two Caesar salads and all were barely edible. This little pizza spot has the distinct advantage of not having been laid out by the corporate planners of Vail. Their salad was fresh, well presented, plentiful, and not overly dressed. Their pizza is an ordinary thin crust (don't let the name fool you, this isn't Chicago thick crust). The table wine is decent; if you aren't an oenophile, you'll like it. If you know which side of the Napa Valley you like your wine from, please don't even come to this place. Now let me tell you why you want to visit: the wait staff is wonderful. By phone they were friendly but honest that a reservation wasn't required in the off season. The person who waited on us had a beautiful smile, a friendly and upbeat personality, and took the time to chat with us.
