I have an Extra Pur water system that only CWP really services. I've lived in my house for 3 years. The first year Mark missed his first appt-no call/no show but made the next one a couple hours late-no call. The second year no issue. He had to reschedule but made the second appt. Nov 2019. Set up an appt-no call/no show had an emergency I was told later. Next appt he set up, I explained I had a wake to go to but wasn't sure of the time but I would call him ASAP. We rescheduled he didn't show up again. Scheduled another appt directly with. Again no call no show. Called CWP prior to Christmas and asked for anyone but him and was told I'd hear back soon. Nothing Called today and was told he is the only one in the area to service my area. Was told a message would be left for him. I won't hold my breath for a call back. Horrible customer service. I had a tech come out to get a quote on a service. He said he would get back to me in a few days. After a few weeks I called them and they said they would have the tech reach out to me, he never did. Ive had my system for several years. Mark at Chicago Water Pro's is horrible! He doesn't return calls or texts for months. It took him 8 months of calls to get him to come out last time, and I had to buy bottled water for 8 months!!! Now the softner is saying needs service. Mark says he'll be out that friday, no show, I call & text and he says he'll call me tomorrow to reschedule, that never happened. Ive been texting & calling every day. No answer. My experience with Chicago Water Pros has been nothing short of awful. I hired Mark and his team from Chicago Water Pros to install a chlorination system in my home for the purpose of cleaning my water. His job was to install the system and return to test the water. I checked his references online and everything seemed to be in order so I hired them. What happened next was a poor installation that required 3 return trips due to their installer installing a flow switch backwards and my basement beginning to flood from shoddy workmanship. Additionally, there have been 3 appointments made by Mark that have resulted in no shows. When I confronted Mark about the wasted time from this installation, he offered me $500 for my trouble which he never paid. He also never showed up for the appointment to test my water quality as promised and quit taking my phone calls. Additionally, several of the devices he installed are still leaking. We installed a Pentek reverse osmosis water purification system about 7 years ago when we renovated our place. The one-man company (not Chicago Water Pros) that we had been using to service the unit just stopped returning our calls so we decided to look elsewhere. When we had an issue with our RO system, we selected Mark. We couldn't be more pleased with his excellent service. He returns calls promptly, he books appointments a few days out, he shows up on time and when he arrives, he offers professional service with a personal touch. As it happens, when the problem we were dealing with required Mark to come back out a second time (for something that wasn't Mark's issue), Mark didn't ask for payment for a 2nd visit and politely declined our offer to pay him. In addition, he's offering a RO system that's higher capacity than what we purchased 7 years ago and, as I recall, is better priced as well. We're very happy to discover Mark. I'm pleased to recommend him for both service of existing systems and sales and installation of new systems. read more

Initially, Chicago Water Pros was fantastic. Mark installed a drinking water filtration system and did a wonderful job. He was efficient, fair and great to work with. He even came out and changed the filters a year later. I couldn't have been happier. But after we had had the filtration system for two years, the pump would no longer fill with water. We were unable to get drinking water from it. The product was under warranty so I emailed Chicago Water Pros and got no response. I emailed twice more with no response. I then called the company and explained the problem and was told that I would get a return call. No one ever called me back. I continued to call- four times in total and each time I was told that Mark was away from his desk but that he would call me back. No call back ever happened. The last time I called, I calmly stated my problem and my frustration in not receiving a follow up call. I asked if they had a recommendation for another water filtration company that could help, as Chicago Water Pros must be very busy. The woman apologized profusely and said that she would mark my call as urgent. Yet I still did not get a call back. I ended up spending a lot of time calling around to various water filtration companies before I found someone that said they could come to look at the problem. Because they are not the company who installed the system, I cannot use the warranty and have to pay the full amount. This is not ideal but I would like to have clean drinking water in my house ASAP so have agreed to it. I'm sorry that Chicago Water Pros was too busy to even return a phone call. At this point, I wonder if they are a legitimate company; one who is able to fulfill product warranties and do their job. read more

Mark was great, professional, answered all of our questions! We installed an air injection oxidizing system and a reverse osmosis faucet. We are on well water and he helped us get great clean, filtered water through the house. answering all questions about the differences of products and what was needed for our particular needs. HIRE AT YOUR OWN RISK. Here's what you need to know about Chicago Water Pros: This "family owned business" is only one person: Mark. If you call for sales, the message goes to Mark. If you call for service, the message goes to Mark. Mark is a personable guy. His prices are competitive. I think he builds the water softeners in his basement. There isn't a name plate anywhere on the unit. He's still in business, so he must be selling enough water treatment systems to stay afloat, but you can expect ZERO customer service response after the sale. Once you make a purchase, Mark will disappear. Mark has an answering service to take incoming calls. Mark is always "away from his phone right now," though the woman answering the phone will always put you on hold for a second to "check." But you will never be able to do anything more than leave a message. Don't waste your breath complaining. The answering service can't help you. But you can be certain that Mark will not respond to your message. Mark *might* return your call if you're looking for a new install--I mean I did get through to him the one time when I purchased my softener. But even if you're wanting to buy, Mark is likely to miss your appointment and need to reschedule. A lot of things "come up" for Mark. If he keeps the appointment, he will most assuredly be late. If you buy from Mark, that will be the last time you ever hear from him. He does not respond to service calls. He does not return calls. If you buy from Mark, *you* are the "mark." Buy at your own risk. Read other reviews. Almost everyone says the same thing about Mark's responsiveness. Decide whether that's worth it for you. But what about all the positive reviews? I think most positive ratings are posted right after the sale, when people are still feeling good about their purchase. We found Chicago Water Pros through friends of ours that used them for their well water which was really nasty before they put in their system. We don't have a private well, but we have small children and I was concerned about the chemicals and whatever else in our city water. Decided to go with the Osprey whole house purifier and a reverse osmosis for our sink. We did a lot of research even though it was a referral and Chicago Water Pros really had a superior product to what we saw out there. In terms of price they were very competitive - about middle of the quotes we got. I will say that the service and installation was above expectations - very courteous, timely, professional - very nice people to deal with. If I could give a ZERO, I would. We had previously dealt with Aqua-Pur and this company took its clients over. We had our whole house filtration unit and 2 ROs serviced by Mark in July 2018. Shortly after I noticed one of ROs leaking all over basement. I called Mark to have him come take a look, and he set up an appointment for a few days after. He never showed-- no call, nothing, just did not come. I phoned back and set another appointment which he chose date and time. At 30 minutes past appointment time, I phoned and he said he was running behind yet would leave soon. Hours later-- AGAIN, a NO SHOW!! I tried phoning following and no answer now. Ultimately, I had to have a different company come out and take care of the issue. When other company arrived and looked at the leaking system-- it was discovered the filters for the leaking RO unit were: 1st one missing and 2nd not installed properly. New technician feels the unit was damaged (head cracked) when servicing. My July 2018 service call with Mark ($229), now ended up with an ad on price tag of $900+ for a new system + install (about $1,300 total), plus I have basement wall water damage as well. I hired Chicago WaterPros to install a whole house water filtration system in my home. While installing a reverse osmosis connection under the kitchen sink, they damaged the connection to the dishwasher. When I hired a plumber to repair the dishwasher he advised me the supposed whole house water filtration system was not connected to the whole house. The system was not connected to the cold water in the kitchen and the guest bathroom (both rooms on the first floor). I had a second plumber verify that this was the case. Both plumbers were able to discern this upon first sight of the system connection, in less than 5 minutes. Both advised it is not possible to mistakenly miss the cold water connections and that the installer absolutely would have known they did not connect the cold water to the filtration system. In addition to the improper connection, the installer caused damage to the sink cabinetry, the dishwasher and drilled into the foundation piles of my home. read more

This company took over AquaPur and their service is a huge disappointment compared to their predecessor. Mark, their field technician was scheduled to come to look at the unit in a weekday which was scheduled 2 weeks in advance. It was 10 minutes past the scheduled time and he apologized when I CALLED the company saying that he was backed up. First of all, it is terrible customer service to not let your customer know you are going to be late let alone not show up. He wanted to reschedule for a weekend. After some further correspondence to determine next steps he got interrupted with another phone call and said he will call back. That was days ago. Do not recommend working with this unprofessional company. Very sad to see Aquapur go because they were phenomenal. As for this company, they do even make any effort to make a good first impression. Missing appointments and not keeping their word just spells disaster all over it. Even if you may be undermanned and may have things outside of your control, what you can control is what you say you will and will not do. When you cant even follow through on that how do you expect to keep customers? read more
