If I could give negative stars I would. My experience with Avis has been incredibly disappointing…read moreand unprofessional, especially considering this is a corporate fleet rental through Holman, our fleet administrator. There appears to be a major disconnect between Avis' corporate systems and the location branch resulting in them not recognizing that my rental is an ongoing rental even though there was an open PO and confirmed payments being made. I was unexpectantly contacted by an Avis recovery service agent who informed me that the vehicle was scheduled for repossession due to the rental showing as unextended. I explained that this had to be a misunderstanding and asked if the issue could be verified Monday morning, but because it was Sunday and the branch was closed, myself, and the Holman rep, that I connected to the recovery agent was told that he had to follow orders and repossess the vehicle immediately. While I understand protocol, this should have NEVER occurred on an active, direct-bill corporate account with ongoing payments. Holman created a new reservation for me at Enterprise for Monday but unfortunately they didn't have any cars available due to the weather and limited inventory so I had to return back to Avis, Tuesday morning. A new reservation was created through Avis, but when I went to pick up the new vehicle, I was told by the branch manager that I had been placed on the DO NOT RENT list due to the repossession which appears to be caused by Avis' internal errors. Holman confirmed this should not have happened due to an open PO. To make matters worse, the branch manager in Orland has been completely unhelpful throughout this entire situation. She is very by the book and offers no real assistance or customer service. She simply provided me with a number to call in which I called and learned that I wasn't even supposed to call; I was supposed to email a completely different department. This misinformation only added to my frustration. Additionally, I have a vehicle accommodation through my company, which is why I was given a Volkswagon Atlas. Instead of helping, the branch manager told me that once the DO NOT RENT issues was resolved, I would need to contact Holman because the vehicle type she sees in the system differs from what I previously had. I've been in the rental for months, so if the previous vehicle was an upgrade, it was provided to me by the Avis representative, not me. Regardless after everything I've experienced, you would think someone would try to offer even the smallest level of accommodation or flexibility, but that has not been the case. Honestly, every time I've ever picked up from this location, she always has an "As a matter of fact" attitude. I've also repeatedly shared how inconvenient it is for me to physically come into the location every month to renew the contract, especially since this was intended to be a long term rental until my permanent corporate vehicle is assigned. The branch manager suggested a short-term rental option which I informed Holman of and Holman attempted to support this request by keeping the PO open. Yet, despite that, I still ended up in this completely unnecessary situation that has caused high levels of stress, back and forth calls, emails, and a major disruption to work. At no point has anyone at this Avis location offered any real customer service, or empathy. For a corporate account, one that gives Avis significant business, I expect a higher level of professionalism, problem solving and appreciation. Instead what I've experienced is miscommunication, lack of support and a complete failure to help rectify this issue. This situation has been very time consuming, embarrassing, and quite stressful. I sent a lengthy email to the email address provided to get my name removed from the DO NOT RENT list (I'd also like to call out that the branch manager, told me you just talk to them and they'll remove it right away), and to add fuel to the fire, the emailed response that I received from the recovery department was very vague, stating that I had been placed on the DO NOT RENT list for 2 years due to an overdue agreement, as if I hadn't spelled out the details, including that one in my email to them. No mention of looking into it further or anything, just that I was placed on that list and couldn't rent again for 2 years. WOW!!! This is absolutely absurd and adds insult to injury. For a corporate account that gives Avis significant business this is shocking. I have never experienced anything like this with Enterprise, and if I had any other choice right now, I would not be pursuing get this issue resolved and would not continue doing business with Avis at all. I strongly hope Avis takes this situation seriously and address the issues related to them not having visibility to the information that is in the system at the corporate level because, no customer, especially a corporate client should ever have to deal with anything like this.

My first experience renting was not pleasant as they made me go back home to get my corporate badge. No one has ever done that when I travel for business and I saw the bias in that. The car they gave had suspension issues and they could not change and I had to change my car in a different Avis. However, from the second rental the process have been quicker and the vehicles were lot cleaner and better. I would say that they are making a good effort to test their customers right and give vehicles that are of good quality.

I was so frustrated and ready to give up. Then I called Blue Oval Rentals, my call was answered by a very professional and cordial employee. I have recommended Blue Oval Rentals to family and friends and I will continue to use them myself.

From my call until we were driving away, it was 30 minutes. They brought the car to Bob's Advanced in 15 minutes and took car of my two daughters and I on one of the hotter days of the summer when our own car overheated. Our car repairs took a couple of days, so when we went back to our home in Chicago, Blue Oval was in regular contact with Bob's Advanced and had an update on our car as we were trying to plan for how long we needed the rental. When we were coming back from Chicago, there was a slight delay in our car repairs, and we needed to switch out rental vehicles for one more day (because our original vehicle was already reserved for another party), so Blue Oval seamlessly got us into another vehicle for the last day. Their level of customer service was top notch, and I wouldn't hesitate to rent from them again. They are the epitome of small town customer service and a great business with a variety of rental vehicles.

So I really think the reviews are a bit hit or miss...and I can see why...but I would give this place an A-Ok rating of 3 stars. This Budget rental place is in the process of moving. They used to be on the corner of 159th and Harlem (7200 West)...but that corner lot - which used to be a gas station - was sold and Budget has moved to 7420 West 159th (right next to the Home Depot and Goodwill Industries stores)...roughly three blocks west of Harlem Avenue. Right now they are working out of a trailer (see picture #1) but will soon move into their new digs (see picture #2). While I can't say I had perfect experiences here, I am satisfied enough to give them another chance. I understand that sometimes the previous renter does not return the vehicle on time (I had trouble returning mine) and that puts the next renter behind the eight ball. The Budget staff are in a tough position...they want to let you be a day late when necessary but that might put someone else out of pocket. Tough position. All-in-all I think this rental place is A-Ok...give them a chance. Budget, by the way, is really an outlet for Ford products...so now you know what you'll be getting. 3 Stars.

Just stated we only had electric cars left. We stated that we have never used an electric car before and that we would be traveling, and did not have time to have to keep finding charging stations. She stated all the cars are reserved, we stated we reserved car also and you gave us a faulty car. If they did not have a vehicle available then why did the Budget agents tell us to go to this place. I would never go with Budget again. A letter will be going to headquarters and booked thru Costco travel, they also will be notified. And they charged me for 19 hours $280.12!

The woman assured me someone from Orland Hills would pick me up at the car repair shop. A very nice young man picked me up and helped me choose a car. Two days later as I tried to pump gas, the release lever was inoperative. Great. So, I called the Orland Hills office to have a 15 minute ad for Enterprise and a disconnect. I call back. 15 minute ad and a disconnect. Now I'm mad and try one last time with the same results. No way to leave a message or get service. Chat gave me the number for Enterprise assistance because if it is on the website, it is not prominently placed. Again, it was the Matteson office who helped me somewhat on Sunday. The young lady got the door latch to the gas cap opened after many attempts. BUT, no point in changing out the car because maybe (?) they only had one other car available. I got gas and left the door slightly open, but some caring person shut it when I went into the store. In my conversation with the young man who picked me up, he told me why he chose Enterprise for a career move. Customer service and building more customers would be key to bonuses and promotions. So, Enterprise does their best to sabotage any chance for that. Provide a phone system designed to aggravate and be unhelpful. Lack of employees. Lack of cars. Poor attention to detail. Poor management from upper level. Never again.

Loss of future revenue for them I guess.

There are many reasons why I do this (and I've done this at least a dozen times). When I come to Chicago, I often do not need a car for the first several days of my trip, so I don't need to rent from the airport shortly after arrival. However, even if I did need to have a car from the the outset, I would probably opt to take Lyft or Uber from O'Hare to Naperville. Why? Because unlike the airport lots, which charge all sorts of taxes and concession recovery fees that add about 60% to the base rental rates, at this location the added fees come to less than 10%. Also, because this is a small location, service has always been very quick. And as soon as your paperwork is settled, they pull the car right up to the front, so all you have to do is step out the door and into your waiting car. There are some drawbacks, of course. If you walk into this location without a reservation, it is possible that there may be a very limited selection - or even no cars at all. Also, you will be limited in what you can rent. With some advance planning, however, you can avoid these pitfalls. I always come here with a reservation, and there has always been a car for me. Sometimes I even luck out by getting a upgrade to an SUV or minivan (yes, for me a minivan is an upgrade).

I popped the hood and come to find there is basically no oil in the brand new vehicle. They were unable to get a tow truck to me quickly stating it would be 2 hours from when they were first notified of this issue and given an address for the driver to meet me at. I then drove roughly 3-4 miles from where I was at to West Bend only to find that the Enterprise is no longer there, luckily the car salesman directed me to where the new spot was 1.5 miles down the road. Since this occurred, I have had no response from the branch on how to rectify this issue and ensure other customers are not put into a dangerous situation due to their gross negligence. This also caused me to miss several scheduled work meetings that I traveled to up from the Dallas area. Terrible service on the vehicles by them and even worse customer service after the incident occurred. I would not recommend this location to anyone.
