We just moved, so we had temporary driver's licenses. No problem in Tennessee, but this location in Illinois refused us a car because we had a temporary driver's license. Avis website states they accept a temporary driver's license, but apparently this is a franchise store with their own rules. We had to borrow a family member's car to get home to Tennessee. Called Avis which has the worst customer service. We were transferred three times before someone could assist us with a refund. Never, ever rent a car from AVIS!

The exterior had a large dented quarter panel. My wife had rented the vehicle and is the 4th name on our insurance policy. insurance cards only display 3 names....staff wouldn't look at the screen showing that she was insured, so we were also forced to pay for insurance that wasn't needed or desired. Hope their commissions were worth it. Perhaps the least helpful staff that appears to take their unhappiness out on customers. They had been the rudest most entitled employees that I've ever had the misfortune of having to deal with. No one should be subjected to them. Upon calling Hertz 800 number, I realized that customer service no longer exists. However, roadside assistance does....and they suggested switch it at a different facility....the closest was 25 minutes away. As a longtime customer of Hertz, I will be looking at other rental companies and options in the future. Hertz has lost a customer. The woman assured me someone from Orland Hills would pick me up at the car repair shop. A very nice young man picked me up and helped me choose a car. Two days later as I tried to pump gas, the release lever was inoperative. Great. So, I called the Orland Hills office to have a 15 minute ad for Enterprise and a disconnect. I call back. 15 minute ad and a disconnect. Now I'm mad and try one last time with the same results. No way to leave a message or get service. Chat gave me the number for Enterprise assistance because if it is on the website, it is not prominently placed. Again, it was the Matteson office who helped me somewhat on Sunday. The young lady got the door latch to the gas cap opened after many attempts. BUT, no point in changing out the car because maybe (?) they only had one other car available. I got gas and left the door slightly open, but some caring person shut it when I went into the store. In my conversation with the young man who picked me up, he told me why he chose Enterprise for a career move. Customer service and building more customers would be key to bonuses and promotions. So, Enterprise does their best to sabotage any chance for that. Provide a phone system designed to aggravate and be unhelpful. Lack of employees. Lack of cars. Poor attention to detail. Poor management from upper level. Never again.

The insurance company paid for a premium grade luxury vehicle, Hertz believes that's a Toyota Avalon. I had a luxury sports car and it was replaced by a family sedan of significantly less value for me to drive for 6 weeks while my vehicle was being repaired. The insurance company paid for Hertz to pick me up from my home and take me to their rental facility to pick up the Toyota. I had to take the day off work since I didn't have a car and while waiting I thought I would work on some projects around the house. After waiting a couple hours longer than I expected to be picked up I called Hertz and asked them to give me a more specific time range after I was told they would be here soon, I said "will you be here in about an hour?" The representative told me no it should be no longer than 15-20 minutes. So I waited around and it ended up being an hour. Once I got the car after waiting around for hours longer than I was supposed to and then spending about 30-40 minutes at the rental place I got in the Toyota and it reeked horribly of cigarette smoke. I'm not a smoker, never have been, cigarette smoke gives me headaches. I would never use Hertz again, one of the worst experiences from any company I have had.

They used to be on the corner of 159th and Harlem (7200 West)...but that corner lot - which used to be a gas station - was sold and Budget has moved to 7420 West 159th (right next to the Home Depot and Goodwill Industries stores)...roughly three blocks west of Harlem Avenue. Right now they are working out of a trailer (see picture #1) but will soon move into their new digs (see picture #2). While I can't say I had perfect experiences here, I am satisfied enough to give them another chance. I understand that sometimes the previous renter does not return the vehicle on time (I had trouble returning mine) and that puts the next renter behind the eight ball. The Budget staff are in a tough position...they want to let you be a day late when necessary but that might put someone else out of pocket. Tough position. All-in-all I think this rental place is A-Ok...give them a chance. Budget, by the way, is really an outlet for Ford products...so now you know what you'll be getting. 3 Stars.

Went to the Orland Park location and I was in and out in about 10 minutes. Super fast and easy. Only thing is you do need 300 bucks for a deposit, most people probably don't have like me so had to borrow from someone. You do get it back though. Other than that, I absolutely loved the 2025 Toyota Corolla. Super smooth, clean, and great speakers!! Actually miss it! Would definitely recommend! Guys there were great to work with.
