My whole family loves their pizzas. We have vegan/ vegetarian's and love that they have vegan cheese and mock meats and various vegan pizzas. We also have a meat eater that enjoys their pepperoni pizza. They are usually ready to pick up at the time stated. There was one time that we ordered pizzas and when we got there to pick it up, there was a sign saying that they were closed. I understand that it's family owned and things come up, but it would be better if they would shut down their online ordering in those cases so the customer is aware before they drive there. My family ordered two pizzas for dinner this evening. My wife called in the order and I picked it up. One was a vegetarian and the other was supposed to be ground beef. Upon getting home with the pizzas we realized that the one that was supposed to be ground beef was not ground beef but some other kind of meat. I'm vegetarian and while my wife eats meat she doesn't eat anything from a pig and the meat appeared to be bacon. She tried calling them to find out what kind of meat was on the pizza. They were out of one topping I wanted and I had to change one of the pizzas. I was disappointed at the small amount of toppings, but more so at the flavors. Overall, the takeout experience was very good. The food was well made. The salad was a very nice size for 2 large bowls. It likely feeds 2-4 people. The paneer pakora was a tasty experience. It also had nice spices/flavors. The Chicago's favorite is alright. It's not very oily like most combination style pizzas (likely because it has chicken). There's a second "twisted pizza" location in Roseville, CA, as Chicago's Pizza With A Twist has a franshise in Granite Bay, on the east side of town, that serves delicious Chicago style pizza, with an Indian "twist," in the true style of Bollywood. You will LOVE this "twist..." As you enter the restaurant, you'll be greeted at the counter by the friendly host. You can order your pizza from the counter, or order online or by phone, and pick up your completed order at the restaurant. The menu is listed above the order counter on a video board, and you place your order from the video board. When you order "dine in," Chicago's uses what I call the "taqueria format," as you make your selection from the menu, posted above the counter, pay for your order, and when your order is ready, it will be brought to your table, with a smile by one of the friendly staff members. As you pay for your order, there is a very "convenient" way to add a tip to reward the staff for their friendly service. Sight unseen, when I paid for my order, I added a 20% tip, to reward the friendly, hard-working staff. The restaurant seems to cater mostly to takeout-go orders, and the dining room is very compact, with two tables, a bench table facing the counter, and a bar stool type table facing the wall. There are several video monitors, that highlight listings from the menu. The dining room is clean, spartan and very functional. I'm "old school" and I prefer to dine-in, and I found the dining room very comfortable and attractive. From the "Naan Pizza" section of the menu, I went with the "Shahi Paneer Naan Pizza Twist," along with a "Lamb Twisty Pocket," from the "Sides" section of the menu, complete with jalapeno pepper slices. When I horribly mispronounced the words "Shahi Paneer," the chef simply laughed, and assured me that everything was alright. The menu describes the "Twisted Pizza," as, "Tropical butter sauce, cheese, onions, garlic, ginger, paneer, fresh cilantro and green chilies upon request." Yes, please, as I requested green chilies, which turned out to be jalapeno pepper slices. Today was my lucky day! The online menu -"Pockets" aren't listed on the printed menu available inside the dining room - describes the "Lamb Twisty Pocket," as, "Our Lamb Twisty Pocket has our signature tandoori sauce, crisp red onions, sliced lamb, fresh cut ginger, garlic, green chilies and spicy jalapenos." Simply delicious! This pizza isn't your typical thick, loaded-with-cheese "American style" pizza, as it's based on a slab on naan bread, baked to a crispy golden brown, and covered with butter sauce. The naan bread slice served as a perfect foundation for the pizza, as it was light, slightly crispy, very flavorful and held together well. The naan bread was topped with the "tropical butter sauce," along with cheese, diced red onion, diced cilantro, and chunks of garlic. All of this goodness topped the naan bread, and was baked perfectly, to create an amazing pizza, with a Bollywood "twist." When you place your order, you get to choose your "spice level" from not-at-all to super-spicy. I went with the "medium" spice level, which worked perfectly for me. If you have any questions about the spiciness, just ask the friendly staff as you place your order, and they'll be happy to guide you into the direction of your choosing. With each bite, I could taste a mixture of ginger, along with a slight curry taste, which mixed together well, and created a perfect, complex taste, which is very typical of fine Indian cuisine. This isn't your average "Joe" pizza, as this pizza definitely is flavored with an Indian "twist!" Since the pizza was vegetarian, I needed some meat with my lunch, and my "Lamb Twisty Pocket" filled the mission of meat, to complete my amazing lunch. The pocket was basically like a giant samosa, as it was baked in the pizza oven, in the half-moon shape of a samosa. It was stuffed with thin strips of marinated lamb meat, diced red onion, garlic, and lots of creamy, melted white cheese. Besides the obvious taste of garlic - I love it! - I could taste ginger, along with a faint trace of curry, which all blended together to make this an amazing addition to the pizza. The "Lamb Twisty Pocket" was simply amazing, and it could be a "stand alone" dish as the centerpiece to your lunch, as it was delicious. Chicago's Pizza With A Twist, located in Granite Bay, serves a lunch that's certainly unique, and blends Italian and Indian cuisines together, with a unique "twist." As my host mentioned, pizza isn't native to India, but Indians have adapted pizza to their taste, and have created a "fusion" dish that combines the best of both cuisines. I went on Google, searched for pizza with a twist and the website asked me to select a location so I picked the one closest to me which was the Sierra college Boulevard location. It switched the menu to that location and I saw a deal for 2 large 1 topping pizzas and it came with a 2 L soda for $23.99. I thought that was a good deal so I decided to buy it and I also had a discount from DoorDash for having an account so it lowered the final price. when we arrived, the girl working, I didn't get her name, gave us our two pizzas and when I asked where we get the drink from, she said we didn't purchase a drink. I said "yes I did, your website said the kids party deal comes with a drink," she said "no the kids party deal is $29.99 and you only paid $23.99 so you only get what you paid for." I pull up the website I ordered from and showed her that it says 2399 and that you get a 2 L drink and showed her that there was no option for me to select a drink so I assumed that I would select one at the store. She proceeds to tell me that it's not their website and that they have a different website so she pulls up a different website on her phone and it says $29.99. but when she clicked on it to show me it still didn't have an option to pick the drink on the website. I told her it's not my fault that the other website (which still sent my order to their restaurant) had the wrong price, I told her that I paid for what I read which was that it comes with two large one topping pizzas and a 2 L soda. she kept telling me that I didn't pay for it so I don't get it, so I just purchased the soda by itself ($4). The pizza was fine, but not amazing, although it could be I simply wasn't accustomed to that type of crust (which tries to emulate a Chicago style deep dish without being deep).
