How to lose 5 Customers in minutes. DO NOT SIT DOWN BEFORE YOU ORDER. My family dropped me off (because of knee issues), I sat at a table while waiting for them to park. I believe another Customer complained about it, a Manger rather curtly asked me to vacate the table because I hadn't ordered first before sitting down. Didn't know that was their rule. We were recommended to this restaurant and were anxious to try the food here. We were very very disappointed and insulted by the management at Chicano Boy. We would recommend for folks to avoid this restaurant and save yourselves a rude and frustrating experience. We arrived at the restaurant and had to figure out how to get seated and order. The were no clear way to get seated and nobody that worked there seemed interested in seating any of the customers. In fact the manager seemed ok with customers wandering around trying to get any of the staff to answer questions or figure out how to get seated. When we or other customers were trying to get the staffs attention we were all ignored. The main problem with this restaurant is the complete disregard for their customers. This seem to be the way the manager wants to run things. The most offending event occurred when we were trying to order something to drink. We saw several other tables with beer but no beer was in the menu. We tried to flag down a staff person and ask but, again were ignored. So we bought a cider from the store next door and bought it to our table and ordered. The order was taking an unusual amount of time and we sat there waiting. The rude and incompetent manager came out to our table and with a nasty attitude told us that we were violating the restaurant policy by having our ciders. She clearly thought that we had some sort of ESP because there were no signs or clue that this rule existed. When we specifically flagged down a waitress and explained our displeasure to relay to the manager, the manager hid from us. We will never patronize this rotten restaurant management. Bad service, rude uncaring management spells a recipe for food disaster. read more

Came here specifically because of the owner's response to Jenny C.'s bad review. I fully support management that advocates for their hard-working employees. Look. We're on a road trip to DC heading north on 81. This place is not right off the interstate, but it was worth coming into town to eat here and support a local business that is doing things the right way. Now, the food- HØLY SH!T it was sooo good! I managed to feed three adults with refined palates and three picky kids and there wasn't a crumb left. We had Americana, beef, carnitas, and chicken tacos. No pics because we wolfed it all down. Service was Sha'Carri Richardson fast (in the middle of a rainstorm, mind you) and so flippin' friendly. My kids asked if we can come back to Chicano Boy on our way back home. So I was staying out this direction for a few days due to work and weather so I popped in to this spot and this is what my opinion of the food is being from California where real street / Mexican food is done right. Prices are a bit high for the caliber of food but taking into consideration that the food is not cooked by actual Mexicans it wasn't bad, it was enjoyable but lacked the authenticity. My bride and I had tacos de camarón (shrimp) & beef (I believe it was like a brisket) and I had a burrito de camarón , the burrito was better than the tacos but again it wasn't bad but can definitely do with improvement especially with a name like Chicano boy tacos because true Chicanos know how to cook. Now the salsas, the hot was mediocre, the flavor wasn't bad but again needs help but definitely not hot by any means and the green (my bride said because I didn't try it) was not good, she didn't continue to eat it after a couple of tries. The staff was great, very friendly!! So if your looking for a decent meal I would say it's worth the try and see how your taste buds do, every palate is different and mine come from authentic foods from Home and the streets. This place made me and my husband so, so happy! We had the 2 taco lunch special, so we got to try 4 tacos: shrimp, brisket, carnitas, and chicken. They were all delicious with super fresh toppings (slivered radish, corn cut off the cob, cotija,). You get to choose your salsa and either guacamole or queso. Such a deal! Staff was super friendly. Spot was bomb. Literally downloaded this app just for this review. Everything about the food was good even the guacamole and I hate guac. Food tasted like home and to top it off they had an awesome home made carrot/habanero sauce that paired perfectly with the flavors. Being from DC when I walk into a taco spot I expect to see my boys auntie flippin tortillas in the back so when I didn't see that I got a little nervous. I would have given Chicano Boy 3.5 stars if that was an option. They have very filling tacos and generous portions, which you don't always get with street tacos. But I feel like they aren't overly flavorful. They're okay, but not amazing. Maybe it's because we lived in Colorado for a few years and there's some GREAT taco joints there, so I may be judging too harshly. Overall, good food but not usually my top choice. read more
