Given choices of what condiments I'd like in the bag (I'd prefer they put the condiments on the sandwich, not in the bag - why am I paying to make my own sandwich?). Surprised at pickles on the sandwich, hiding under the meat - but no lettuce or tomato unless you order it deluxe or something like that. For about $7.50 you can make your sandwich a meal with fries and a drink. The waffle fries are so-so, kinda dry. OMG - I LOVE Chick-fil-A..... I am SO freaking glad that they finally built one here! I am going to eat it like every single day. I grew up in Atlanta and ate at Chick-fil-a often as a kid. It really is not anything that special to me, just chicken and waffle fries. This location is SUPER BUSY because it is the first one that has opened in the Chicagoland area. Even though it is busy, the line moves quickly. If you want to dine in, dont plan on it. You'll be lucky to get a table. The only downfall is that when you are waiting for your food it does take a while due to the ample amount of people that were ahead of you waiting for their food as well. Hopefully it wont be crazy busy once the Orland Park location opens up soon. read more

Mayo, ketchup, chick-fil-a sauce, and hot sauce is what I smother the sandwich in. Fries are perfectly crispy and they give you free refills when you eat in! This location loses a star for customer service. My friend got her order right away and we proceeded to wait 5 or more minutes for mine. Finally had to approach the counter and ask. Gave me my order, went to sit and just to find out they gave me the wrong sandwich. Brought it back to the counter, they apologized once again, proceeded to throw out the old but perfectly good sandwich and gave me the right one. I hate wasting food!! Who Yelps about chain restaurants? Well I had too - because of what I saw - this was my first time dinning in as I usually just do a drive through. The young lady at counter was very courteous but beyond that what I witnessed was how they treated their own employee. One of the employee (Tatiana or some similar name) probably competed her shift it was starting, and ordered her breakfast. She ordered and took a seat and a gentleman server brought her food but before giving it to her he parked it on the side and came to her to ask if she would like any dressing? I went out to eat here with my coworkers tonight. So around 6:15 p.m Tuesday night, it was a good crowd! But I enjoyed it. The service is AWESOME. Everyone is super friendly, and go around asking if you want refills and throwing away your trash without intervening. We even got to meet the owner! Real friendly lady. She gave us Peppermint Shake samples--absolutely delicious! Children could not get away from the cute play place. Everyone seemed to be having a great time eating and socializing! The Chick-Fil-A Sauce (honey mustard) was popular to put on the sandwich. I enjoyed mine with Ranch and Buffalo Sauce! The Chicken Sandwich is what most of my co-workers got. My review is split into two categories Food and SERVICE. I've been wanting to try this chicken for a while now. It was kind of funny because when it came time to order I couldn't decide between the chicken, the chicken or the chicken. I mean it's either breaded chicken on bread (with or without spice and/or cheese), unbreaded chicken (or a grilled chicken filet), chicken strips, or chicken nuggets. It's a limited menu, but I was stumped since this place has been built up in my mind, I didn't want to make a wrong choice. I decided to get the strips meal (with waffle fries and drink), to taste the true chicken flavor. Here's the skinny - Chicken strips: the breading was definitely not on the crispy side. As a matter of fact, I had a hard time picking one up because the breading was kind of slimy and was sliding off when I tried to pick up a strip. So I finally took a bite. The breading was on the sweeter side. Not really my cup of tea, but not bad. But the chicken was so moist and had a nice flavor that I couldn't help but over look everything else. Having had many many other kinds of Chicken strips, the were ok. I wished the breading was more to my liking. Dipping Sauces: Talk about choices..too many to list...for heavens sake - thank you Chick fil A for giving us more than BBQ or Honey BBQ as a dipping sauce.... I look forward to trying them all! Waffle Fries: I expected typical greasy seasoned waffle fries...instead I got fresh cut, huge non-greasy lightly salted delicious waffle fries! Such a delight! I am craving some right now! SERVICE: This place is not just about the great food, it is about excellent service. I never got any attitude, I got smiles, menu suggestions, offers to take empty our tray when we were done, offer to refill our drinks - SUPER great service from a fast food restaurant. Mind you, they are suppose to open a Chick Fil A in Lincoln Park, I wonder if the service will be same???? I don't know, but I sure hope so, especially after the service we received at this location because it is one of the things that set this fast food chain apart from all others. Great experience! I saw that they also offered breakfast items, desert items and I wished I lived closer to try them all. If you have no idea where to start... Start with breakfast! Seriously! I love that CFA Fox Valley offers up a free sample here or there so you can try a chicken breakfast in case you're too timid! My absolute favorite is a Chicken Biscuit with a slice of Provolone! Don't let the competitors fool you... Nobody can do biscuits or chicken like CFA! Next, Chick-N Minis! Oh, to die for! The little rolls are just sweet enough to balance the chicken. You won't find anything like it anywhere else! The boy likes the Chicken Egg & Cheese on a Sunflower Multigrain Bagel and the Hash Browns (and, of course, the Minis!). We've obviously tried everything and thoroughly enjoyed them all! These are just our absolute favorites! Lunch / Dinner is nothing to pass up either! I go for the Deluxe -Pickle +Provolone. The boy opps for the Spicy - Pickle +Pepper Jack. We always get the Waffles Fries. Strange that I'm not a big fry person, but I really like these! Milkshakes... OMG, I love when they do the specialty ones! I never got a chance to review the Houston location, so consider this my atonement. We stopped here on a weekday for lunch. It's still crowded, and the drive-thru was about 10 cars long, so we decided to eat in one of the portable tents set up outside. My wife got the 8 piece chicken nuggets, while I got the standard chicken sandwich. Well, they gave her 6 real nuggets and 2 nuggets the size of a pea, so I took it back. To their credit, they told me to keep those nuggets, and gave me another box of 8 real nuggets. So, 16 nuggets later, here are my impressions: Their chicken sandwich is the real deal. You have one and realize it's what McDonald's has been trying to do with the southern fried chicken sandwich, but it's just not there yet. It's juicy, it's tender, and it was fantastic. I might like the spicy chicken sandwich a bit better based on what I remember from Houston, but it's a tossup. The nuggets were similarly great. Both chicken items are breaded the same way, but with the nuggets you get to try the wide variety of sauces. The honey roasted barbecue sauce is fantastic. I will have to return to post what I think of the fries; I can't remember them, but I seem to remember that they weren't too greasy and went well with the BBQ sauce. read more

Fast food generally makes me want to vom, but I love me some Chick-Fi-A. I've loved everything I tried there (chick sandwich, nuggets, fingers, waffle fries, lemonade, choc shakes). I really don't think there's any way you can lose. On top of awesome food, I love the little touches of the restaurant, like the cute and seemingly salmonella-free play area for kids. I love the little ketchup containers that you can use to dip in OR squeeze out. I love the mini kids meal straws and the educational toys they give with the kids meals. I love the ice cubes...you know, the kind of slushy cylinder shaped ones like you get at gas stations. Did I mention the Polynesian sauce? Try it with your fries. So good, and they don't charge you extra for the sauce. The only issue is that I always want to go to this place on Sunday and it's closed on Sundays! What is this...Hobby Lobby? Le sigh. read more

I really wanted to love this place - not because of political views, but because i love their chicken sandwiches ... at least from when I use to live in the south. It may have been like 10 years since I last wolfed down one of their infamous chicken sandwiches with the pickle on top, but perhaps like all great expectations, which build and build over time, there is often some semblance of a let down in the realization process. Enough with the bard talk, onto the food. Where do I begin.... ah yes, the order. Got the regular Chick Fil A sandwiches with side orders of the waffles fries to go. The wait ended up taking 10 minutes, which allowed for me to wipe my mouth from the instant salivation that was triggered at the sight of the menu. So the taste. The sandwiches were freshly prepared (I order a bunch of them for my family, who also hadn't had them in years) and while the chicken breast itself is enormous (compared to similar fares offered by the competition), the taste was lacking something. I'm not sure if the seasoning has changed -- or they switched food suppliers. Or if i was remembering there should have been a slight schmear of mayo to help smooth out the flavor but there was none. In any regards, the first two bites didn't leave me wanting more, although for the sake of not wasting food, I continued on. Sometimes things aren't as grand as we memories. So as far as price-to-value. For a combo, it would have been $6.50 or so, that's especially steep where quick serve restaurants are concerned. For roughly the same price point, you can order freshly made food from a take-away place (i.e. Indian, Turkish, Chinese, Thai, etc.....) that offer more healthier, freshly prepared alternatives and does without the preservatives commonly found in fast-food places. Service - for a QSR - it was great. Nice, polite high school kids that are eager to have a first job, that have a pleasant smile on their face, and who move about efficiently and get the folks in-and-out of the drive-thru rather quickly. I'll stop by again when I'm in the area, and perhaps this time, I'll try something else and finally try their sweet tea. read more

But for a fast food place it isn't really fast because this place is always obnoxiously packed and there is always a line although they're pretty speedy in packaging your food. Hubby and I stop in here every so often for their original chicken sandwich. It's a big tender piece of salty, fried chicken, has pickles and a nice soft bun. It's the kind of meal that's delicious but afterwards you feel like taking 10,000 bonus steps from. Also, the employees are way over the top sweet and friendly - they GOTTA be trained that way and I really do appreciate businesses that hire teens and yet train them not to be surly and inattentive. It's remarkably noticeable. The place is spotlessly clean, including the bathrooms. There's a fun looking play space that somehow does not transmit any noise or disturbance, just fun vibes from the kids inside. There are lots of days where they will give you a free sandwich for dressing like a cow or other wacky promotions. What is not to love? I can't help it, I love Chick-fil-A. read more

My cousin first introduced me to this place when I was in Dallas. We were there for breakfast and I ordered the fried chicken biscuit. I thought it tasted great, although it was greasy. I think eating Chick-fil-a is ok in moderation. The problem is that one is not enough! These chicken biscuits taste great but they are packed with calories. Walked in, greeted by one of the most friendliest upbeat cashiers I've ever met... His name is Kiva! I chilled out and let the dust settle on this place before giving it a try. People will line up for a chicken sandwich, but the museum and the symphony are empty. But that is another story. Aurora seems to be the landing pad for the area to get new fast food joints, and much like Sonic the lustre fades quickly. The chicken is good, the fries are good, but it isn't a big deal. In Chicago people wait in line for Hot Doug's because he is doing something innovative and new, Chick-Fil-A is doing a chicken sandwich, it is good but not worthy of a cue. I usually go to the location on rte 34 but this location was closest to me at the time. I am writing this from the drive through where I've been waiting 25 min to order my food I've never waited more than 10 minutes during the busiest times at any other location.
