I was here today. It's super clean, the staff is very friendly, & the food is awesome! So the hummus is as fresh as it gets, same with their chicken, vegetables, sides. Writing this review genuinely upsets me because this Naf Naf was a cornerstone of my teenage years. Back in its prime in the 2014 era, this place was amazing. The falafel used to fall apart, the pitas were warm and fresh, and the fries.. oh my god the old fries were to die for. Since the pandemic it seems that this location or maybe it's a corporate problem is cutting corners. The first red flag was a few years ago when the ordering style turned to the way you'd order at subway/chipotle. Instead of walking up and ordering a plate or pita with the protein and having it served with basically everything unless you specified otherwise, now you go down the line and choose what you want and they added more toppings which makes it a little overwhelming if you just wanted the original experience and not know what to order. The food after that implementation to me, went downhill I haven't been back in probably 5 years since that until today when I thought I'd give this place another chance. I'm saddened to report that it's even worse than before. I placed an online order to pickup in store and as soon as I walked in I was pretty setback by how dingy it was in there? I remember this store used to be pretty bright and clean looking, now it's dark and dirty. The workers didn't seem too thrilled to be working there either but I was just picking up so I can't say too much else about the service. I had about a 15-20min ride home and by the time I got home I took a bite out of the fries they were cold and did not survive the trip back. Let's talk more about the fries because to me this is one of the most upsetting changes Naf Naf has incorporated lol. Years ago, these fries were so thin and perfectly seasoned/fried that I always wanted to make a meal out of just them. The fries now look and taste like something you would get at Burger King?? I don't even know how to describe it. Bland, soggy, and season-less. A fall far from what they once were. I didn't get the chicken shawarma (used to get it all the time but I'm sure it's horrible now too like everything else here) because the only reason I decided to try Naf Naf again was because I was craving falafel and was in the area. As I stated before, the old falafels were to die for. They were huge, soft yet crispy, and super flavorful. These were so disappointing. They have shrunk in size and they seriously tasted like they were made days ago and then reheated and overcooked. I couldn't even cut through these with a fork they were so hard and bland. The pitas were cold, they no longer taste fresh. The only thing that has remained relatively the same and still good is the garlic sauce and the pickles, everything else is not worth it. Would I come back? You see the star. lol never. Pita was stale and hard. Took forever. Line of about 8 people. One blind white lady came in and was at the end of the line. Oh don't worry she was blond and white. She wanted 8 pitas. Oh you bet they let her cut ALL of us. Even reached over me to pay lol. Wow racism at its finest. Naf Naf has really good Mediterranean food. I have had it catered several times for lunch at work and ate in the restaurant for dinner. The chicken shawarma, grilled steak, and falafel are all great options. The restaurant is counterservice and casual. Good for families. read more

There are some Naf Naf places that are worth it and some that make you question why even go there. (Disclaimer: Not medical advice - Consult with your physician for sodium intake) 1) First of all the salt levels here are through the roof. Felt like my blood pressure was shooting up. The food and meat tasted bitter with so much added salt. 2) Decreasing portion sizes - other stores fill your bowl/plate. Here the toppings at best are sprinkled specks. 3) Staff- People working here look miserable. Some are downright weird. 4) Tables and chairs were dirty and sticky. I can easily avoid this place and go to my usual Naf Naf that is much better. I was very disappointed with my experience at NafNaf Grill. The service was absolutely terrible, staff seemed unwilling to accommodate any customer requests, immediately rejecting. On top of that, the pita bread was soggy and unappetizing and so was the quality of the food- cold and old taste. Prices have gone up dramatically. 2 meals one fries and one drink for $39.38. They even charged me 4 times for BYB steak even thou we only had 2 meals. We should of gone to a nicer restaurant like lazy dogs for what they charged us. The worse thing was I froze dining inside. I was dressed with thermals and it felt like we were outside. I used to love coming here and I haven't been able to come up this way since before the pandemic. I was sad to see other locations closed so when I got the chance to go to the Naperville/Aurora area I stopped in. Previously my usual description of their pitas was "little pillows of heaven" soft fluffy and freshly made. They used to be delicious. Not anymore. I don't remember exact prices from before but I don't remember spending so much for just hummus and a few pitas. I think at least one or two pitas were included with the humus and if so, they aren't any more. The texture was more like a stale day-old "soft" pretzel. It was dark brown, hard dried out and I overcooked. Difficult to chew. I noticed none of the rotisseries were going even though it was the evening during rush hour/dinner time. What, how did I never review this location? I come here all the time. Food is great like at all locations of Naf Naf (chicken kabob and saffron rice are my favorite), and staff is really nice. Sadly I can't eat the delicious pillowy pita bread now because of a gluten free diet, but when I told the guy at the counter I didn't need it he looked over to my dad (who was with me) and said, "Would your dad like it?" After hearing my boyfriend rave about this place, I was so excited to try it! He loves it, his coworkers, a very picky crew, also love it, so surely I was expected to like it too, right?! One thing that happened not too long ago that will probably forever change my expectations of places like Naf Naf and all the other places after it: The Halal Guys opened a store less than 2 miles from my house. I know, forever changed. So, here I go with my Naf Naf experience! I ordered the Chicken Shawarma, and it comes with pita and your choice of two sides: basmati rice, Israeli salad, or fries. I chose the rice and salad. For $11.99, seems a tad pricey. The food was ready pretty quickly. The portions are generous but then again, you're paying $12 a plate. I'll break down the different parts of my meal: -Chicken: a bit dry, not seasoned very well. -Basmati rice: dry; I struggled to eat this and eventually stopped and brushed it to the side -Pita: warm, delicious -Israeli salad: this was my favorite part of the meal - fresh and delicious. I ended up mixing this with most of the chicken and the rice to enhance those items I wanted to love this place a lot more, but for the price and the fact that I've been spoiled by so many good shawarma places near me, I just couldn't help but dream of all the better places as I was getting through my meal here. Had a bad experience at this place before. I understand that they have changed owners and a lot has changed. It's nothing like it had been. I thought I would give it a try again to see if anything has changed. Their Pitas were not warm and Luscious and melt in your mouth delicious like they were in the past. So this is twice now. They're not cooking meat fresh on the Spits like they used to as you can see by the picture. Their chicken was once again dry as a bone and sitting in a bin. So I asked if they had anything fresh. She said the steak is made fresh. So I ordered a steak bowl. I opted not for the fresh cucumber and vegetables because that has changed as well. They now put absolutely zero spice on it. So I said no to that. But was excited to at least try the steak now. Well sadly it was the most grisly garbage I've ever had. As you can see by the picture I spit out probably half of it. Very uncool. And uncouth. But I couldn't chew it or swallow it. So to the New owners I would say that you have ruined this place. It should be a time on a Saturday when a lot of people are here and I'm looking at empty tables. We visited the Naf Naf Grill in Naperville today and were particularly disappointed in the service ( the food was good). My boyfriend didn't have his mask so I went in and asked if they had a spare mask - the gentleman behind the counter sighed very loudly and said 'I don't care if he comes in without a mask, I'm not afraid of anything - I only wear it because they make me.' My boyfriend stayed outside so when I ordered our meals, he kept on correcting me on the order of how things had to be added to my pita and insisting that I could not add anything additional (although I have in the past). I felt like a child being reprimanded - and also, if employees don't really care about government mandates it made me decide to not buy from this franchise for a long time. read more

When you walk into a Middle Eastern restaurant and see the place full of hijabs and a couple of niqabs, you know the shawarma and kababs are going to be authentic and yummy, even if this is a chain. What I didn't know was they make a great schnitzel, too. It's not authentic German/Austrian pork or veal schnitzel, but chicken schnitzel. This is a large place--lots of seating with a few tables big enough for groups of six. On the Saturday evening I went, there was a steady flow of customers and lots of employees behind the counter to keep things running smoothly. My chicken schnitzel and drink wasn't cheap--add tax, and it was $15.50. With plates, you're allowed a couple sides. My basmati rice and fries were good, and the pita--the most noticeable different between Naf Naf Grill and an average falafel place is the pita bread. I've came here for lunch, mid lunch and dinner before! I absolutely love the food here. Typically I get the chicken shawarma in a pita with chips on the side. I love the pickles and the sauces that come on the side. I've been to a few other locations and this one seems very clean and quick to produce the food. I used to love this location. Food was always fresh and flavorful... not anymore. I was a little disappointed too see they no longer served chicken thigh pita sandwiches, but I get it. Maybe was not a popular enough item and I also like the falafel anyway. I was also surprised to see that the prices had gone up. Also now charging for the sauce. Sad face. Pita was nice and fresh, but my falafel were undercooked(raw in the middle) and the fries were dried out and cold, like thick cold unsalted potato chips. Overall this visit did not leave me smiling. Ohhh I missed this place, I always order the same, chicken shawarma on a plate, usually with a side of hummus but not this time, I got the rice and home made chips, it has great flavor, it's a fast food twist to Mediterranean food, but the quality does not suffer, they are quick and delicious, the pita bread is hand made in front of you and they are always warm and fluffy, I wish they had one of these in Atlanta, there is lots of parking for these 4 degree days in Chicago, so just watch out for the ice and walk in, they could have had the heat on a bit higher, it was cold inside (not as much as outside ) prices are reasonable and ultimately what you go in for is the food, and I love it. read more
