As we were waiting we remarked on how clean and nice the whole place looked. We got our food, thanked them and left with what seemed to be a heavier than what we ordered bag. When we got to the hospital we realized he had doubled our whole order! What we had was not just delicious, but better than expected. We had our feast with our family and gave our extra food to the wonderful nurses that have been taking care of our family. It was all fresh delicious and very appreciated by everyone. We started off with sambusas with lentil, which came out hot and pillowy. The lentils were nicely spiced with a coriander or cumin and turmeric situation, with some chili pepper for spiciness. I would have loved a sauce to go with this, and it was still delicious nonetheless! I also ordered a hot tea, which was a chai with milk. It was so foamy, frothy, and hot. Today, I learned that bidena and injera are similar, if not synonymous. The bidena with wat was flavorful, spice-forward, packed a punch, and the green sauce that they included was delightfully herbaceous and tart. The barice with goat is apparently a Somali dish, and we loved how colorful the rice was - the goat was remarkably tender, and the other accompanying sauces were just as delicious. We inhaled both of our dishes. The ambiance leaves a little bit to be desired, but I think with six months in and the fact that this serves primarily as a grocery store factors into that. If you're looking for a mom and pop flavored dining experience, this is the place to go - like that they have a condensed menu, because what they are doing, they are doing well, and service was quick. My local friend who lives in Mitchell told me that there's a Subway kiosk just outside the TSA security checkpoint at Sioux Falls regional airport. So I was like, cool. The story goes that I was scheduled to run a 24 hour ultra in Lennox, South Dakota 4 hours after landing. I needed lunch and my friend wouldn't arrive at the airport until 30 minutes later. What do u do? As soon as I landed and taxi to the gate, I whip out my phone and started to place my order on the Subway app. I located the store location, which was conveniently named appropriately. After completing my order and waiting to deplane, I exited the secure area and walked towards the baggage claim, only to remember where the Subway restaurant was. Once there, I told them I had a mobile order. The staff here was surprised thinking I was getting something to eat before heading into TSA security. It works just as well leaving the airport to be picked up. It was funny to see the reactions on their faces. It took me about 15 minutes to deplane, which was about the time needed for the order to zip thru the network and have it ready for me to pick up. Quite glorious actually and there's a small dining area between Subway and the ticketing area of the airport. Quite clean and nice. It's a quiet airport so, don't expect a lot from them especially if there is a morning rush of travelers. The overall experience here at this Subway restaurant at the Sioux Falls regional airport was quite nice and definitely a good one to have, especially when you want something healthy and quick before leaving or entering the airport and wanting to grab a bite to eat. My experience here was quick and lasted for 20 minutes from pick up to "dining in", then out the door I go. Quite possibly the best place to have a subway restaurant when you know you're going to be coming in or out of the airport. The staff here is nice and friendly. You know what you're going to get when it comes to fresh and delicious, and usually healthy to some degree, depending on how much or little stuff you load your sandwich with.
