I end up here for dinner every few weeks. It's busy but the staff does a good job keeping the place clean and getting orders served quickly. This evening the owner Rick approached me and asked how I enjoyed my experience. It means a great deal that the owner is a regular presence and is actively engaged in the business on the ground level. Impeccable customer service! This has to be one of the best fast foods places I've been to that has such great customer service. Every time that my husband and I go through the drive thru, we are always greeted by someone to either take our order or to take our payment. We see the workers out there even when it's hot serving the customers. I really appreciate their efforts in making sure there is great customer service, even at the drive thru. Dont use curbside pickup. Whether it is incompetence or negligence, they never came out to deliver the order. Instead I had to use the drive through and I wish this was the end of the bad service, but it continues. I was given my order without the drinks I had purchased and upon returning home I requested a refund, which was denied. Won't return to this grossmont location again. read more

Waited in the drive through line for 28 minutes today. Normally I wouldn't bother with a review but this is the second time I've left this particular Chick-fil-A having received subpar service. I will not return. My suggestion to management would be: when you leave your guests stuck in a drive through line for 28 minutes with no option to exit, you offer them some sort of compensation, such as a comped meal or a gift card to return. WORST service received at a fast food drive through place in 40 years. Was, at the pick up window, asked to wait in a separate parking spot without an explanation. After waiting 10 min and still no food, I got out the car and asked for my food (several cars in front of me and many after me got theirs). The server asked my name; but then continued to serve other customers. Ask another server who said that they could not find my order - I had the receit in my hand. I love chick-fil-a. Saw this was a new location that just opened up and the s/o and I decided to visit. Fairly easy location to get to and I think it gets a bit less traffic than the Sports Arena one but not by much. This chick-fil-a has a dual drive thru which is pretty cool. With that, I think we went thru the line pretty quickly. I always get my staple meal: Cobb salad, no bacon, with avocado lime ranch, and a large fry. The s/o loves their grilled nuggets and occasionally gets their different selection of chicken burgers. Overall, chick-fil-a has never failed me and this location holds true to my faith in chick-fil-a. I think this is gonna be my go to chick-fil-a location! read more

Ordered food today and asked for no cheese. Once I got back to work the sandwich had cheese on it and it was a spicy deluxe. Called the manager to complain and was told because I wasn't given a receipt that they cant help me. Card was charged and my name was given. Receipts should be given to all customers. Ahhh 4 times here since they opened and they still haven't got it together. Second time here, I ordered a breakfast meal inside to take togo. The previous time before I ordered a meal and asked for ketchup and Texas Petes hot sauce and wasn't given any ketchup and only one Texas Petes when I asked for a few packets, so I wanted to order inside to make sure I received ketchup and enough hot sauce since they have them out.My first order came cold- fried nuggets and fries do not taste good cold, so without the ketchup and hot sauce the meal sucked. So I order my meal and take a seat. Inside was empty. Two people came up and ordered and received their food while I watched them get their food and leave. I only ordered hash browns, Minis and a drink so I was confused. I go up to throw away my orange juice container since I finished it while waiting and one of the employees noticed me and could tell his face was like "Oh s***." They forgot about my order ha!? It's not even busy how does that happen? So I could tell he panicked and he gets the food and gives me a free breakfast sandwich coupon. He was very apologetic and nice- and I appreciated the gesture of a coupon (but ahh 15-20 minutes sitting in there watching other customers come and go while it's not busy felt crappy when it was a weekday morning and I had to get to school.) Okay, strike one ant two. Haven't dismissed this location. Came here again for dinner after a long day of class. (I'm in graduate school and getting something fast while being able to use my computer for WiFi to catch up on schoolwork is ideal!) Ordered food- wasn't offered any sauces like are normally offered. Wasn't asked about what dressing I wanted with my meal (my meal came with Avocado Lime salad dressing, but you can ask for whichever dressing you want instead of getting that one)- so I specified which dressing I wanted (The woman taking my order, a shorter Hispanic lady that had the name tag Director sarcastically said to me "Of course you can have whatever you want." Seemed like she had no idea how to work the register system. I asked if I could have sauce. She was now annoyed with me- ah thought employees were supposed to offer a sauce with the meal? (My receipt was wrong too- It said Spicy Chicken Deluxe with Gluten Free Bread). An employee was walking by and I mentioned that I ordered a Spicy Chicken Deluxe Sandwich with Multi-grain Bun. He apologizes and brings me back a Gluten Free Bun with Spicy chicken patty, lettuce, tomato and pickles. Ugh I just said I wanted a Multi-grain bun (even though the guy that took my order put GF. I never wanted GF to begin with I was just correcting what the receipt said to the employee so they wouldn't make it with the wrong bread) and my chicken didn't have the slice of cheese with it. Ah, isn't that why you pay a little extra- to receive some veggies and cheese? Not the right bread and no cheese. Chicken was also small and the breading just kept falling off it was so soggy. Urg, Strike 4. So many employees that work here and there doesn't seem to be good communication between them here. Chick-fil-A normally gives that warm, welcoming atmosphere. This place just seems stressful for customers and employees. Seems like the employees don't really care either, just busy chatting with each other or lounging. SERVICE IS EXCELLENT! Walked in, was greeted right away. Even though there was a guest in front of us and we weren't ready to order, they acknowledged and told us they'll be with us shortly. I respect workers that do that. She took our order, asked us what sauces we wanted and they weren't greedy with it at all! How great is that. Also, their sauce is to die for. And just the small things that make the entire trip simply annoying. This specific branch has seriously been lacking on getting the small things right. Multiple times now, through the drive through, I have been told that the sauces are in the bag or the coffee creamer and sugar was in the bag (I wanted it on the side) and Shane on me I should check before I leave. But who is doing the last look over before it's handed out the window? I get it, things are forgotten but this is now a pattern. And whoever hands the food out, don't put your name on that order and say something is in the bag, when you aren't even sure what is in the bag or not. read more

This is my first negative review on Chick-Fil-A, La Mesa location. Normally, the deluxe chicken sandwich is served nicely. I went through the drive through and ordered two deluxe chicken(fried) sandwiches on whole grain bread, which cost 40 cents extra for the whole grain buns instead of white buns. Once I reached home which is less than 2 miles and I didn't go anywhere else. The chicken breasts were cold and the buns were white, not the whole grain ones I ordered, as the receipt read multigrain buns. The employees that work there need to pay attention to the order placed at their drive-through. I will probably not return to La Mesa as the other location, in Santee always serves hot food and always has excellent service, even when its busy. read more
