Went to Chick Fil A for first time today. I do not normally eat chicken, having had to pluck chickens growing up. Nothing worse than a bucket of boiling vinegar water, dunking the chickens and plucking feathers. I was shamed into going with my wife and granddaughter. I was surprised. For years the Coachella Valley has been wanting a Chick-Fil-A and it finally happened! The drive through line is as long as you think it is, therefore I went to the not-as-long indoor line. The system they have in place, is definitely one of a well oiled machine. The very nice employees are only going to get better as time goes on and will do justice to the system in place. This is my 3rd attempt at this location. 1st attempt was when they opened and the #1 sandwich was bad. Skimpy overcooked filet with one pickle. Reminded me of a chicken filet sandwich I ate at a gas station long ago. 2nd attempt was a few months later. I figured they got the grand opening kinks out. No such luck. Gas station sandwich again. Today I was very hopeful, looking forward to that delicious, juicy thick chicken filet that's fried to perfection. Which is what I get at the other locations. Let's just say if it wasn't 118 degrees outside I've would've walked it back in for my money back. Overcooked and underweight with 2 tiny pickle slices this time!! Fernando at this location (Monterey St in Palm Desert) took care of us today. We had tried to eat there when they first opened but were told only grilled chicken breast sandwiches there). I questioned Fernando today, via phone, and he told me to come down and he would TAKE CARE OF US. Our 15 year old dog LOVED his chicken fingers and my chicken sandwich was great tasting. My husband had the spicy chicken deluxe sandwich that he said "I Love the spicy flavor. It's not to strong!" All in all the trip was a delicious drive. Clean location. Fresh clean smell inside. This place has a lot of kinks to work out before I even consider coming back. Obviously the line was extremely long due to the new and exciting establishment opening in the desert-- it was fully expected! There are two drive thru lines: one for regular customers and one for people who have already ordered and paid for on the mobile app. We ordered on the mobile app thinking it would be faster and more convenient. That couldn't have been further from the truth. The regular line was moving twice as fast and we ended up in line for over 2 hours. Once we got our food, our drinks were completely watered down as if they had been sitting since we originally placed the order. The fries were cold as well. Chicken was good though. If you think this fast food will be "fast" then think again. I'll give it a year before I consider coming back to try again. read more

Service: We went early for lunch today. We got in line and ordered standard #1 combos at 10:57am for indoor dining. At 11:40am, still no food. My partner went to the counter three times to find out what happened. Finally the food arrived and it was cold. They apologized to us and a lot of the tables around us. Everyone saying "my pleasure" does not make it so. Food: Delivered cold. The chicken had almost no flavor. I don't understand the excitement for mediocre food.
