Full disclaimer - I'm not a foodie with high falutin' taste buds, but this is my comfort food drive-thru lunch spot! I always get the same thing, and it is never EVER screwed up. That in and of itself is worth 5 stars! Each young person that works there is full of kindness and seem genuinely not unhappy to be at work. I love driving my vintage Corvette in the drive-thru and pretending that we are not living in this messed up, scary time on planet Earth. The fantasy lasts at least a couple minutes after I pick up my food at the second window. There are two outdoor spots to eat which is good because it gets crowded inside. In-n-out on a Sunday after a wedding weekend is essential. This location seems like a newer one with lots of seating. I will say that I really enjoy when I can sit down and enjoy In-N-Out at the restaurant and not to go because the freshness can not be beat. I decided to go for a double double this time and it was perfection! This newer In N Out in La Quinta always hits the spot. Only a few years old, we're glad to have this location in La Quinta off highway 111. Since it's on the newer side it's really nice inside and out. Very clean and spacious. My favorite perk about this newer drive thru is that they constructed the drive thru really well and it's long. No weird angles or being in lines that stretch in front of other businesses or into the street. This lot was constructed well that it snakes through their parking lot and keeps you out of the way. Typically the line moves fast here. Like any in n out I try to come before the rush or during off hours. But regardless they move here. Staff are always nice and friendly. In many ways it's a standard in n out but I did want to note that they did a good job with their layout and it's just a great location for the locals and tourists. My standard order here is a #1 (pretty plain) lol - I only like meat, cheese, bun and sauce. Well done fries and an Arnold Palmer or straight strawberry lemonade. I grew up in So Cal in the San Fernando Valley and have always enjoyed In-N-Out burgers. I went to this particular one for a few years after moving to the Coachella Valley but today I was so grossly disappointed in how they put my cheese burger together and the taste was just completely off! It had barely any lettuce, the burger was paper thin, the sauce was so saturated and soggy that I had to take a lot of it off with a napkin and the entire burger, cheese, tomato, lettuce and onion was all thrown together and was barely on the bun. I have been a die hard loyal customer for over 45 years and I can honestly say I will never eat there ever again! It was absolutely disgusting and unfortunately In-N-Out burger is now on a major downfall from even just a year ago! You don't deserve my business any longer. I used to order dozens of burgers at a time for my softball team (s) and even work events but they are no longer "IN" they are completely "OUT" for good! Just low quality and completely gross now! You can't visit California without indulging in In-N-Out Burger at least once. After passing up on many locations, often seeing long lines, I finally gave in to the La Quinta location. It was extremely busy despite it being mid-afternoon well after lunch time. The service was friendly, and like most locations, they had tons of employees in the kitchen to handle the swarms of customers. The prices were extremely reasonable and put other places like Five Guys who've really raised prices in recent years to shame. The layout of the interior was almost an exact replica of others I've been to in the past. The double-double (burger with cheese) was just north of $5. The burger itself was fine, but I wasn't overly impressed with the taste. The fries, which I hadn't eaten in years, were fresh, but weren't a kind that I really like with regards to taste with too much potato flavor, so probably wouldn't order them again. I liked how they were handing out food orders in holiday themed bags, which most fast food places do not do, which was a nice touch. While my experience wasn't bad, In-N-Out Burger wasn't as I remembered it to be in past visits, so not clamoring for a repeat visit anytime soon. They seem to have a cult following from Californians, so they must be doing something right. read more

The food here is good, I come here quite often. Someonw hit my car while in the parking lot earlier today though. I was quite upset about that. The service here could usually be better as well. Sometimes the line in the drive through can be 30+ cars deep, which sucks because theres no way out from the line once you're in it. The service inside has a long wait as well. Ok I guess I now understand the hype. Not a burger girl but my dagger begged to go and it exceeded ALL EXPECTATIONS. starting w the gentleman who opened the door as we came in and had the cute hat on and said "welcome to in n out" didn't expect that!!! Place was swarming w people at 6pm on a Friday. Slammed. Person at counter was so sweet and friendly and in the cute outfit. The menu is short which is easy to navigate and we got two burgers fries as well as a milkshake. Again staff so nice. Parking is a little tight if you get 2 or 3 cars all trying to park or leave at the same time, but that's minor. We came as a group in 2 cars so we didn't help in contributing to that mess. Only one thing that made us pause is we ordered 3 servings of fries, one well done, and one very well done (extra crispy). I tend to alternate between this In-N-Out in La Quinta and the one in Indio. The one in Indio is definitely faster in the drive-thru (half the time waiting in line compared to La Quinta In-N-Out). However, the food quality at La Quinta store is way better. If you don't want to wait a long at the La Quinta In-N-Out, then drive to the Indio location, which is 5 minutes away (tax is also cheaper in Indio). Back to the La Quinta In-N-Out: Depending on the time of day, I wait in the drive-thru line from 5 minutes to 40 minutes (peak hours). You can easily tell how long the line is from the street outside because the drive-thru line loops around the entire parking lot. Sometimes I hate when the drive-thru line is long because your car will block those who dine-in. If you could, do not go during peak times, they will overcook your fries. Burger is always perfect for me, regardless of time of day. read more
