The chocolate is better than the vanilla in most custard places outside of Rita's and it's the same at Super Chix. Got a mintOreo fusion instead of a drink and it did remind me of McFlurry from way back. Cajun fries reminds me of the ones from Steak 'n Shake. I got it to go. It was slow coming out but the food was hot and fresh. There's also an impressive sauce station. Sauces were all pretty good. Floor worn out and peeling in front of reach-in coolers. Floor under fryers soiled with pooling oil. Roach activity present as evidenced by live roaches found. Observed eight live roaches in the following locations: Two on floor under reach-in freezers by storage hallway, four on floor in employee restroom marked 'out of order' by reach-in cooler and freezers by storage hallway, one on wall behind three-compartment sink, and one under three-compartment sink on grease trap.

Although I was driving in the right lane, the stop sign is far to the left, which I almost missed. I have never seen that before anywhere. Weird. Then there are confusing big arrows all over the parking lot, which is very confusing; going this way, and that way. I felt like a cow looking at a new gate. After making some needless wrong turns because I was confused, I saw three employees manually taking orders in the right lane, which made me feel uncomfortable, so I decided to leave instead of go through their drive-thru, not feeling like interacting with humans standing right next to my car window; but even leaving was a nightmare. There were multiple lanes, the right is the drive thru evidently, and the left lane sign said "mobile thru," which was the only exit I saw, so I thought; but as I drove in the left lane I saw a device to place an order, which confused me again, and by now I had lost my desire to eat. Why were there employees manually taking orders in the right lane? Where is the exit, because it's not clearly marked? It was so damn confusing! I couldn't get out of that mess fast enough! I drove slow, confused and frustrated. One employee walked in front of my car and I almost struck him. Thank God I was going very slow. He was standing in the median strip between the lanes, like the other three employees were 30 feet back. So how was I supposed to know he would suddenly try to walk in front of my vehicle while I was moving? What chaos! Whoever designed their parking lot should be fired! That is so frustrating. I won't ever go back! McDonalds did their parking lots right. The drive-thru lanes are clearly and entirely separate from the parking area. Whereas you cannot get to Chick-Fil-A's drive-thru lanes without going through the parking area, which is confusing. When a driver enters a business parking lot, everything should be self explanatory and easy to figure out, not a puzzle that challenges the driver to try to understand what is going on. Their parking lot is atrocious navigating. I never had a chance to eat their food. Furthermore, it is a safety hazard, since all vehicles entering the drive-thru have to go through the parking lot, where customers need to walk to enter and exit the restaurant building. This is a very lousy parking lot layout. Just horrible!

You order at a counter and pay there. Then you pick up salad plates (if you ordered salad bar) and get your drinks at the self serve beverage bar. After you seat yourselves they bring your prepared meals to you. Everything was good. Nothing was over the top great; but for what it is, it works! Getting back on track, I've driven down Airport Blvd. many times when in the area over the last 20 years and have seen Jason's Deli. It's an attractive enough store, with parking out front, so I decided this would be the trip on which I'd check off the box to try Jason's Deli. I was hoping to get in while it was still daylight, but made it in much later, slightly before closing. The store is also nicely maintained inside. I went to the counter where the service was very friendly. Remember that this is the South ... and not South Florida. The young lady there answered my questions as I tried to decide on a sandwich. The sandwich, presented on a croissant with sliced turkey, cheese, greens, and avocado was tasty. It went down the hatch quickly. That said, it was very good, but not substantial. Also, they serve potato chips with many of the sandwiches. While delis do do that, it's not what I would consider a satisfying side, nor a very healthy one unless you pay attention and choose the baked potato chips. I was looking around and getting a feel for the place. Like others have mentioned, the salad bar does look appetizing. Additionally, they have many other sandwiches and platters to choose from. Because of the inviting and clean interior and very good service, I'll go with 3 strong stars. I was really hoping for a more filling sandwich platter, since this would be dinner. With its good vibes, I would be open to returning to this or any other Jason's location to try other things to see if there is something that wows me. But, for now, I'm going to go with this rating.
