I lived in the South for a while and I was excited to hear that Chick-Fil-A was coming to San Diego County. I started going once they opened the San Marcos location. I love their original chicken sandwich. It's not super crunchy, but it's well seasoned and always served warm with pickles on a warm bun. It's a great chicken sandwich. If you get the combo meal, you have a few choices starting with waffle fries, and for a little extra you can substitute a nice fruit cup instead. They also have a delicious spicy chicken sandwich that packs a good amount of heat. I like spicy foods, and this is probably a little on the lower scale of spicy, but enough to give it a great taste. For a healthier alternative, they make a pretty tasty grilled chicken sandwich on wheat bread as well. They do have good breakfasts. The breakfast burritos contain egg, pork sausage, fire roasted peppers, onion, Monterrey Jack and cheddar cheese. The chicken biscuit is probably my favorite breakfast meal. They have wonderful shakes as well. My favorite drink is the sweet tea and they really know how to make it sweet. You can even buy a gallon to go if you can't get enough. Aside from the food, the staff and owners are wonderful. They are friendly, courteous and you can't ask for a nicer environment. They food might be a little more expensive than a usual fast food place, but the quality makes it worth it. read more

I'm a fan. This store is absolutely spotless. The employees are super friendly. And the food is not bad at all. When it comes to fast food, you could do a lot worse than Chick-fil-A. I am a Southern girl. On a recent trip to Cali, I had the joy of finding this Chick-Fil-A and getting my Vegas girls to try it for the first time. It took a little arm pulling, but they were glad they did. The store was immaculately clean. The service was excellent. Who doesn't like having waffle fries delivered to you at your table and after saying, "Thank you." hearing, "My pleasure." The food here is ALWAYS good. They offered us several sauces (which are new to me, since I have been long removed from the South, 10 years now). I wish we had a Chick-Fil-A in Vegas, but alas we do not. It's a good thing. I am sure this place is high in carbs and saturated fats. They did have new menu options with grilled chicken, whole wheat buns, side salads, and fruit. I love their lemonade and sweet tea. You can buy it by the gallon at the store. They also have unsweetened tea and diet lemonade too. Chick-Fil-A, I will be back. In the past this would have been five stars all the way. Last few trips have been disappointing. Went for breakfast and asked for a spicy chicken biscuit. The employee said "We can build it for you, no problem". When I got to the window I noticed they changed me almost double just to make it spicy. I asked why and they said because it was the lunch size. Spicy sandwich with cheese doesn't cost $6.50 but I didn't argue. Also, the size of our chicken sandwich was tiny. I love Chick-fil-A! I remember when this one open when I was in college lol. Just went again today for an early lunch. You can order the lunch menu, but since it was 10 am, it took a little longer to get ready. Their equivalent to sweet and sour sauce is their Polynesian dressing, my fave!!! Great customer service. I've heard of Chick-Fil-A but never been to one. I absolutely love it! I had the 8 piece nugget meal. Damn, they are actual small bite-sized bits of chicken and not reformed masses of unrecognizable chicken bits. The waffle fries were good...I would have been just fine with regular cut fries. BOGO came in hand on this morning for breakfast. Had the chicken biscuit and the chicken, egg and cheese bagel. You can't go wrong with the chicken biscuit. Pretty good... In my opinion, I would defer the multi-grain bagel. Threw me off as I felt the bagel dried the meal out. Hash browns and coffee were good also. This is my favorite Chick-fil-A (Or as I like to say for no good reason: Chik-a-Flick ...blame dyslexia) The people at this location are nice, helpful, patient and generous with all their fancy sauces. They have some of my favorite travel condiments to stock up on: Tabasco Hot Sauce in packets, Light Mayo, and tasty Honey Mustard Dipping sauce. Recently I saw some Heinz ketchup dipping cups (like what normal sauce sides come in) and I loved them for carrying those! They have never balked at us packing extras out and we have never wasted them so we love them dearly for this alone. BUT... it doesn't hold a candle to their food. Their sandwiches are the best AND cheapest fast food chicken sandwich at this point. They used to be more than some but with food prices rising, they are now the BEST deal. Pros: Always Hot! Had an absolute disaster trying to order food in San Marcos! im a young business-owner/student just trying to get a quick bite to eat between my schedule! Using the drive through after waiting they told me to move my car to a pick up zone at this point the employees asked for my name and order again to figure out the problem. After waiting another 30 minutes I had to go up to the drive-through window and ask about my order in which they all had forgotten! As I am impressed with the Chick-fil-A franchise and most of their locations as with many big businesses their are a few undesirable in the bunch in comparison. Chick-Fil-A has the best grilled chicken sandwich ever made hands down. The waffle fries are really "bomb" as well. I heard they're known for having really good shakes but I avoid those since I'm lactose intolerant and all. I like the fact that they're Christian based & actually close down on Sundays, it shows that the company cares about its employees. The only reason don't give it 5 stars is because I feel it's rather steep pricing for the small quantity you get, but then again it is great quality xP P.S. for you health freaks, they have a lot of under 500 calorie combos xD read more

Food was good. Everything was as advertised. It was the noon hour so there were quite a few people. That was okay. We ordered a spicy chicken sandwich, a grilled deluxe sandwich and a plain grilled sandwich. The gave us two deluxe sandwiches and a plain one. When my son returned one of the grilled sandwiches for the spicy, they tried to convince him he was wrong. He had the receipt. After four employees looked at the receipt he had to call the manager. He asked them if it was that important to be right. Especially since they had a customer who was not satisfied, could prove it, and a line of customers waiting to place their orders. They gave in exchanged our food. Manager needs to work with his team on providing good service. read more

Bummer, we used to love this location but this is twice now that our drive through orders are completely messed up. Today was the last straw, after counting the items in our order we realized we were short two biscuit sandwiches, we turned around and went back in the girl apologized, grabbed the sandwiches and gave us some free coupons. We leave and get home and BAM open all 6 sandwiches and ALL are wrong- we ordered 3 sausage biscuits- were given 3 chicken biscuits, and ordered 2 bacon and egg biscuits and were given English muffins!!!! Chick-fil-A is generally fantastic but today I got the Market salad and had to pick through it to remove mushy strawberries and blueberries, romaine cores and wilted lettuce. Tried it out on a couple different occasions. It's good, but I haven't experienced the wow factor that I hear so often about this place. The fries are definitely tasty, and their variety of dipping sauces is fantastic. The sandwiches I've gotten have been decent. Perhaps I'm ordering the wrong one. I've seen so many people raving about the cool chicken wrap so that's what I went with last time. For close to $7 just for the wrap, I was extremely disappointed. One half of my wrap had no chicken, and when I said no chicken I mean absolutely ZERO. It probably would've gone over better if I had eaten inside so I could let them know, but like most people I didn't want to get out of my car so I drove thru and took it home. I wish I could do a 3.5 because it's not bad, but also not something I've ever found myself craving (aside from the waffle fries dipped in buffalo sauce). read more
