So many US chains have landed in Toronto. Chick-fil-A is a popular albeit controversial fast food restaurant serving southern fried chicken sandwiches. I've been here several times and it's always good southern comfort. The sandwiches themselves are just OK, it's not overly crisp and the flavors are fairly standard. We chose deluxe for the lettuce & tomato slice. The waffle fries are nice, as is the iced tea. You can expect to have a quick meal served straight to your table. Passed by this location, the high ceiling and upscaling looking drew us in. The seats see comfortable, but not too many. The food is very mediocre, nothing to be craving about. I enjoyed my meal at Chick-fil-A (CFA), it is still fast food - but more upscale. Unlike places like McD or Wendy's where you'd prefer drive-throughs or takes-outs, this Yonge location will make you want to dine-in. The interior was brightly lit, clean, with plenty of seating and no weird smells or sketchy people. This is not easy especially in downtown. The staffs genuinely seems to like working there which is a plus. I am unsure how anyone would just want to have chicken with pickles, so I ordered deluxe. The chicken was delicious, but the rest isn't like extraordinary or anything. What makes CFA stand out is their attention to detail. The packaging, the CFA sauce, waffle fries, and the variety of specialty drinks all point to carefully designed branding. Waffle fries are fried to the same level as normal fries so they're pale yellow not dark yellow or brown. They were ok. The flavour is the same as that of normal fries (they used to be better). Frosted lemonade is a blend of soft serve & lemonade. It's excellent: thick, rich & with a good lemon flavour. They're generous with sauces. Polynesian sweet & sour is like duck sauce. Online ordering is a breeze. Choose from the expansive menu and scan on arrival. they have a lot of mobile and delivery orders so they are efficient. Tried the Cobb salad with spicy chicken breast and spicy chicken sandwich meal. Once I arrived and scanned the order was ready in 5 minutes. Service is fast and efficient. Salad is a good portion. This is only the 2nd time I have ordered from here. Maybe I should have ordered the chicken tenders. I ordered the classic chicken sandwich. The chicken itself is nicely done. Has a good coating and the chicken itself is tasty considering there isn't anything else on the sandwich except some sad looking pickles. Yes there are sandwiches with other topping but I didn't want cheese or lettuce/tomato. I don't find anything special about the waffle fries. When I saw Chick-Fil-A came to Toronto, I was super psyched. It was like my Atlanta roots were following me and I don't mind one bit! Sadly I had to wait for the lines to die down because it was incredibly busy even now! The good news? It seems that 11:20-11:40 am is a sweet spot based on my experience to avoid lines. The service has always been friendly when I have stopped in, even during the pandemic there were smiles from the staff. The Spicy deluxe is just like how my taste buds crave back home. Closed on Sunday... you're my Chick-fil-A You're my number one... with the lemonade Considering Kanye wrote an entire song referencing to Chick-fil-A, and all the surrounding hype, I had to make a stop by here to try out their (in)famous chicken sandwiches! Ordered the spicy chicken deluxe combo and upgraded to the lemonade for an extra $0.50. Of course, we paired the waffle fries with Chick-fil-A sauce, which is a delightful mixture of honey mustard and egg. It was sooo delicious! It tasted like a hashbrown-McDonald's fries but even more crispy. As for the sandwich, the chicken was crunchy and flavourful. The spice from the jalapeno cheese helped cut the greasiness of the chicken, and the lemonade was also a good contrast to the meal. I found that overall the ingredients tasted high quality and fresh. The service was phenomenal, probably the fastest I've ever received my food. Literally rigger after I paid, my food was in front of me. (Around 8pm) I ordered the original chicken sandwich without cheese & the Chick fil a sauce. It kind of tasted like a thousand islands but better? Didn't know that was possible. From the excitement, hooplah and occasional criticism for some of their values, Chik-Fil-A has finally made their entrance in the North. The flagship Canadian location has definitely lived up to the amazing chicken that our friends down South have been bragging about. The menu at the flagship location is pretty standard: sandwiches, nuggets, waffle fries, milkshakes, etc. Not many items as compared to other places, which does allow for quick service of their food. Their hallmark Original Chicken Sandwich has lived up to its mark. Nice and crispy (I do prefer a larger crunch personally) with a bit of acidity from the two pickles for a great bite. If you're looking for a change up from their milkshake, I would suggest trying their Frosted Lemonade. Combining their fresh lemonade with soft serve ice cream, this beverage is a great compliment to your chicken meal. Think of a lemon creamsicle if you're looking to order it for your next meal. As of this writing I have gone to this Chick-fil-A location 4 times already, and everytime I came out more than satisfied. Each time I came there was a queue, but the line up goes by very quickly because there are multiple cashiers ready to process payments and while in line an employee will already be taking orders. The restaurant operation was very round-the-clock, streamlined, and efficient. Food-wise the chicken sandwich was truly delectable. It may be still up for debate on who has the best fried chicken out there --- Jollibee, Popeye's, *KFC --- but for the chicken sandwich category Chick-fil-A has got it in the bag (IMHO). I happily had the chance to try their chicken sandwich in every way and form available: standard order, deluxe, spicy, spicy deluxe, grilled, and grilled chicken club. Each and every way was scrumptious proportionate to the price. The fried chicken meat also pairs perfectly well with the multitude of sauce dips available. I appreciate how the servers are also generous with the amount of sauces they hand out. I don't know if there is a hard number limit for each customer, but I just make sure to always ask for a couple more extra after the initial batch of sauce packs I requested. With the assorted flavours of sauces on offer, there is for sure a sauce to suit everyone's tastes. My personal favorites are the Polynesian sauce then Chick-fil-A sauce, and Honey Mustard. I have sampled the nuggets bothways (grilled & plain), along with the iced tea sweetened & unsweetened. The iced tea may be a point of contention for many because it is not as sweet as they expect it to be because of the way it is prepared freshly brewed daily. Next is the salad which surprisingly is much more filling than is to be expected. For people having already tried the signature chicken sandwiches before, the salad choices are good alternatives for meals to choose when dining in. Every time I was here with friends, fortunately we always manage to find seating. The meal is satisfyingly finished, and as much as possible I order extra for take away to share the goodness to friends and family (and to also make the most value out of the time spent in line). I am actually very glad that I did not line up for 2+ hours to try this. I would have been very disappointed. It's not too bad not get my wrong. The chicken is actually chicken unlike other fastfood chains and the prices are typical fast food restaurant. However, I guess I expected ALOT out of it because of the hype. It's a good chicken burger but it does lack flavor and can be bland unless you add some added sauce onto the burger. The fries could have been fried a wee bit longer in order for it to be more crispy. The service is good. They have a good system so even if there is a line up you will get through quite quickly. There is also a host/hostess walking around making sure everything is ok. Therefore, I do think their customer service is great. If yelp allowed .5, I would give it a 3.5. You are allowed to ask for 4 sauces and I asked for Chick-fil-A sauce, the honey mustard, the polynesian, and the sweet and spicy sriracha. When I first ordered the Chick-fil-A sandwich I was surprised by the fact that it didn't come with cheese, it came with sauce and pickle. I was worried that it would be really dry (I tried an A&W burger with no cheese before and never again), I was surprised that it was amazing nonetheless and perfect as is. I also discovered that I am a big fan of the Chick-fil-A sauce and I think about it from time to time. Unfortunately the waffle fries were just ok. The best part of this whole Chick-fil-A experience was that on the receipt I got an offer to fill out a survey and get a FREE Chick-fil-A sandwich. Inside the place the environment has a very clean look, with big glass windows and tall tables. I would have preferred a bigger space with lower tables and chairs to eat at. The staff are very friendly here. We ordered the original and spicy chicken sandwich along with a drink, they had them ready immediately without any wait. The sandwiches were fresh, hot, and crispy--they are the exact same as in the U.S., and tasted delicious. So excited to finally have my first Chik-Fil-A experience in Canada! I was downtown so I treked 20 mins through the winds just to come here. Surprisingly and thankfully, there wasn't much of a line up around 12-12:30 pm, about 8 people in front of me. However, there was a huge line up of people waiting for their food. Even with the decent amount of space that they alot for customers waiting for pick up, it was extremely crowded. As I looked around, I could see that all the seating was taken and some people were even standing up to eat. I was surprised when the called my name, since I only waited about 5-10 mins for my four Cobb salads with avocado ranch and one large waffle fry. I was pleasured to find that they remembered to give me everything with my order, including the crispy red peppers, dressings I requested, as well as cutlery for all my salads! Oh, and I also requested their zesty buffalo sauce at the register and was given it then. The portions for all my items was satisfactory and ingredients were fresh. It's nice to know that I can continue to have my Chik-Fil-A in Canada now, and don't have to wait till I visit the States! They even have sweet tea here, just like in the US! Amazing. The only difference I picked up was that my fries were salted, which I don't recall being the case in the US. I actually prefer the unsalted fries, so I wonder if this can be requested (like McDonald's). Overall, the service was quite good and again, efficient. I like that here, they asked for my name and the first initial of my last name. This is so that when they call your name for pick up, you have to state your last name's first initial to verify your order. From my past experiences in the States, they don't do this and commonly, customers with the same name would get mixed orders and overall, it interrupted the flow of things. The spicy chicken just tastes spicy; flavour of the chicken was lost. The lettuce and tomato in the deluxe felt very oily could probably pass and just stick to the original. The waffle fries were mediocre and somewhat soft, wish the outside was crispier. Concluded the sauces are dependent on the employee, some were able to get one of each while others could only get a max of four. Decided to have Chick-fil-A for team lunch and was able to place an order for 19 sandwiches, 10 waffle fries and 5 nuggets a day in advance. The receipt even shows promised ready time. On the day of pickup, bypassed the entire lunch line and went straight to the counter for the order. Toronto's first Chick-fil-A location! And I think the first one in Canada outside of the one at Calgary's airport? Definitely the most sophisticated Chic-fil-A I've ever been to. Probably because it's such a new store. The trash cans have built-in compactors that compress their contents. Judging by the media, it's not being received well in Toronto due to the brand's history and Toronto being a secular-leaning place (versus the Southern US, where Chick-fil-A is from). I had a really good experience at this location. The staff was warm and friendly. The food was delicious (as Chic-fil-A always is). If you haven't been to a Chic-fil-A before, whatever you get, dip it in the standard Chick-fil-A sauce. And get your waffle fries extra crispy. First time here I ordered the regular #1 sandwich with no pickles and it was pretty good, however I feel like the one in the States is better - maybe it's because the Canadian chain is so busy that the quality isn't the same. The one from the States is crispier in my opinion. Second time around, I ordered the spicy deluxe with no tomatoes and it was pretty spicy, although I noticed at some point I kept getting a hint of some weird floral taste (if flowers had a taste in correlation to their smell, that's how my sandwich tasted at some point) and I wonder if that was from the spicy cheese sauce? I had the spicy original with waffle fries, unfortunately had to do take out and the fries ended up being smooshed, but the chicken burger was absolutely phenomenal. The size of the chicken was pretty ginormous while the buns was like the size of a jr chicken, which is fine with me. (Forget the bun, I'm there for the chicken). I decided to give it a try but I probably won't be supporting them anymore. Now, moving on to the food and service. It was a regular Tuesday, at around 1:30pm and it was packed! There was a line right to the door, that being said the line moved really fast. I was probably in line for less than 3 minutes. I ordered the crispy nuggets, grilled chicken sandwich and the spicy fried chicken sandwich with their waffle cut fries. I also grabbed 4 of their dipping sauces which are free. First, the grilled chicken sandwich was pretty plain. It was on a whole wheat bun with lettuce, pickles and tomatoes. A great option for someone who's watching calories. The chicken didn't have much flavour but with all the dipping sauces, you can have as much flavour as you want. Next up, the Nuggets. Probably the best tasting fast food nuggets. Looks and tastes like chicken, and each piece is different which means they're not uniform like McDonald nuggets. Finally, the spicy fried chicken sandwich. My favourite, great flavour and honestly for the calories it's pretty good. The fries were also perfectly salted. The sauces were great. It's OK. Once the hype wears down, people will start to realize that the food is actually quite average. The sauces are what make the sandwiches taste good. Hot tip: walk 5 mins down Yonge Street and eat Monga Chicken instead it's way better. read more

I've been to chick fil a multiple times during visits to the states so I decided to check out the first Canadian location. We went on a Saturday afternoon and there was a small line, we ordered in 5 min and got our food in another 5-10 min. Very fast and efficient staff. We ordered two deluxe chicken sandwiches (sub Monterey Jack cheese for cheddar) combos with waffle fries and diet lemonade made with Splenda. Both combos came to around $25. Let me tell you - somehow it tastes better here than in the US. Chicken was juicy and crispy, bread was soft and buttery and the waffle fries were crispy and fresh. I recommend getting a few of their sauces on the side. I like how they don't charge for extra sauces. I recommend the chic fil a and garden ranch sauce. Definitely will visit again!! Finally got to try this and I gave myself a pat on the back for not falling for the hype and waiting some 2+ hours like some people did. Pros: The service is friendly and fast, they don't nickel and dime you for sauces like ALL other fast food joints. You can be assured your order will come out accurate. Nothing missed ever. Cons: it's just a chicken sandwich. I tried the spicy, the original and the spicy deluxe with fries and I gotta say the fries were my fav part. Maybe I'm an odd ball but I do like a little more evenness in my chicken to bun ratio and there was just too much chicken here. If you like that then great! I hate to say this but Wendy's spicy chicken sandwich is way better. Don't fall for the hype. Try it if you're ever in the area but it's nothing to go out of your way for. read more
