Once again, Canada gets the watered-down experience when a successful American franchise moves north of the border... not to say that this Chick-fil-a location is bad though. That being said, I think a "good vs bad" list works best for this review. The GOOD: - Huge lineups are dealt with quickly and efficiently. You even get to place your order as you wait in line, saving further time. (TIP: Don't be put off if you see the line snaking around the corner of the building, it moves very fast). - Prices are decent vs US locations, didn't feel like we were being gouged a la Target. - Restaurant is clean and spacious, don't stay in one place too long though, because one of the cleaning staff may sweep you up! Washrooms were also good. - The food is delicious and equal to the chicken served at equivalent US Chick-fil-a restaurants. Their chicken is thick and juicy and those waffle fries... - You MUST have the Chick-fil-a sauce, it's a no-brainer. However, this also leads me to "the bad" below.. The BAD: - Not a lot of seating vs the amount of people visiting the restaurant. - One of the greatest things about Chick-fil-a is their awesome staff -totally unrivalled in the fast food world, in my opinion. At this location, the staff varies from awesome (apologizing to me because I had to stand at a table because the chair had been removed by another customer) to not so good -I found the checkout server to be snippy and not very welcoming. - Next is my main gripe, and one which many Canadian customers are all too familiar with: they are cheap with the "extras" here. Cheap with the napkins, cheap with the dipping sauces -you get the picture. When I visited Chick-fil-a in Chicago, I asked for condiments and the response was "how many would you like? Would you like any other sauces? Would you like anything else?" -and that employee had literally stopped what they were doing when I looked like I needed something in order to help me out -now that's service. Here in Toronto, I got one napkin and one dipping sauce (that I had to ask for). Absolutely typical Canadian short-changing of the customer. 1 napkin for greasy finger food -really? - Also, one of our Sodas was very sub-standard (was flavourless, like the mix was way off). Overall, I will be back, but maybe once the madness has died down some more. read more

I've been excited to try Chick-fil-A since it opened in Toronto as everyone raves about their food. I went on a Wednesday afternoon around 4:30 pm and there was barely a line. It was super quick and I was in and out with my food in less than 5 minutes. Seating was limited so I unfortunately had to take my food to-go. I got a spicy deluxe combo which came with a drink and waffle fries ($11.29). The sandwich was good--the chicken was juicy and flavourful but not too spicy. The waffle fries were okay. They weren't as crispy as I would have preferred, but not many fast food places offer waffle fries so they've got that advantage! Portions were also good and I couldn't finish the meal (although I am a small eater). Overall, the food was good in the moment but it was really greasy and I felt pretty gross afterwards. Truth be told, I probably won't be back to Chick-fil-A anytime soon, primarily due to the greasiness of the food (just personal preference). There are dozens of places in the area that I would rather eat at instead. Despite this, I can see why people like it so much--it's great greasy comfort food! read more

For what is ultimately a fast food restaurant, I must say that I was pleasantly surprised and genuinely impressed in the quality of the food and service. In terms of my order, I got the Chick-fil-A Deluxe Sandwich, together with the waffle fries and their signature lemonade. Being curious about their wide array of sauces, I got a bunch (zesty buffalo, Polynesian, barbecue and Chick-fil-A), but the standout was certainly the Chick-fil-A. The waffle fries were warm and fresh (though these need to be eaten shortly after you get your order or they'll get soggy), the chicken was tender and the lemonade was a nice add-on (and a free refill on top of that). Overall, I was really impressed with the quality of the food and am already looking forward to my next visit. read more

I'm reviewing this place in comparison to other fast food places, and other fast food chicken. Now that the hype died down a bit, the line is much shorter. I popped in for lunch around 1 waited 10-15 minutes to order and receive food not bad at all. The only negative is that it needs more seating. Deluxe chicken sandwich, chicken nuggets, fries, and chocolate shake. As far as FAST FOOD chicken sandwiches this ones the best I've had hands down. Nuggets are just okay, but made better with the fil a sauce. I actually like the fries a lot Mcdonalds are still better but these are a close 2nd. Chocolate shake was f-ing awesome. What puts it over the top is, that's a lot of food for me, but I didn't feel nasty or bloated after so i'm going to assume its at least a little less greasy than the other fast food places. read more

Definitely a winner. Definitely try the Chik fil a sauce - it is a must. It tastes like a creamy smokey mustard with a sweet tang. I also tried the zesty Buffalo sauce; it was not too spicy; it also had a nice tang. Their Polynesian sauce is a sweet & sour sauce - it was good too. The famous sauce is really good. The spicy chicken sandwich was a nice blend of spicy but not too spicy however not very crispy. The bun was cold and soft and didn't taste very fresh but it did the job. The bun had a slight sweetness to the taste so there's a salty savoury flavour when biting into the sandwich. Now on the fries, I ordered a large but there were hardly any in the box. The fries were very cold, super salty and soggy. It tasted like they had been sitting for awhile. Considering the hype, I'm genuinely shocked how efficient this place is in week one. My pregnant wife and I lined up starting around the corner of the building, expecting to be there for an hour. Total wait time was about 10 minutes from back of the line, plus another 5 minutes waiting for the food to come out. It was absurd. They must have 30+ staff in that one restaurant, and everything ran like clockwork. Extremely impressed that they were able to keep up with demand. Very well planned. It's our tradition to visit Chik fil A whenever we go to the states and we're so happy it finally came to Toronto! We got their signature chicken sandwich and it was decent. The ingredients are well put together and fresh however not as great as the states. The sauces are what really makes Chik Fil A shine and sadly at this location they're quite stingy with the sauces. I was very disappointed in the service that this location provided. I had ask the pre cashier to repeat my order TWICE she did, which my order included two 6 count nuggets. Got to the cashier and I was only told that I could only receive one of my nuggets due to the fact that the "kitchen was closed" it was 5:20pm the store was closing at 6pm. Firs time trying Chick-fil-A and it was delicious! I had the original chicken sandwich combo with waffle fries and sweet iced tea. I came before the lunch hour rush around 11:30 which is perfect time to go since there was no line up whatsoever. I highly suggest replacing the ketchup for the fries with BBQ sauce and Chick-fil-a sauce as well. You dip your fries with BBQ and your sandwich with the Chick-fil-a sauce. The food feels extremely heavy and fatty, its sauce tastes like all the other sauces out there and the food puts you to sleep. I eat there trying to get a nice meal on the go and in return I get a meal that makes me feel like I cant stand. Do NOT eat here as it does not make you feel the way you want after a nice meal. No disappointments whatsoever from the chicken burger sandwich to the waffle fries and the breakfast is off da chain with large or small container of fruits, eggs and sausage sandwich or bacon and egg sandwich.
