The only thing that I have an issue with has nothing to do with the food or service, but the fact that it's situated along route 22. It is incredible how busy this location gets! Even though it gets busy this is one of my favorite places to eat for lunch. The staff is all friendly and courteous and they even have workers who will remove your tray and even refill your drinks! There is a play area for the kids. You can't go wrong eating here. read more

Route 22, Union, NJ, the heart of "get out of my way, I'm in a hurry," country. There is a Chik-fil-A restaurant that almost made me forget where I was. We stopped on a week night while shopping and I was taken back by the patient, friendly staff here. They had crew members outdoors to help speed up the drive thru. The had people cleaning the dining room and checking on the guests. They didn't allow you to empty you own tray. The food is fresh, juicy and tasty. Don't waste your time. The absolute worst service time and time again. Finally the last time visiting our food was cold after waiting in the drive thru for 20 minutes. We go back to let person ourside know, she advices to go through the drive thru again. Another 20 minutes wasted. A second sandwich, cold as ice. Complained again at the window and was offered a third sandwich. Please explain why after twice, I would want to give you a third attempt at doing your job. Yeah I had to write another update. I'd only been back twice since my customer concern was resolved earlier this month. I emailed directly since Maria, the social media coordinator had been emailing me because of my experience in July. The manager Jim, was Cc'd on the emails. She apologized, gave a free meal deal and said they hadn't gotten my facebook message over the summer or the voicemail I left for the manager but they saw the Yelp review. I'm kind of certain they don't respond unless something's posted on Yelp. Had to deal with another rude employee taking orders in person at the drive through. She literally said "I'm ready when you are" while my sister and I were talking and deciding her order(no more than like 20 seconds I might add). I contemplated letting it go, but had decided by the time I reached the window to ask the employee's name because I was going to make management aware of her attitude. Neither girl at the window claimed they knew the who was outside taking the orders. In my email, I didn't ask for compensation, and told them I just reached out to make them aware of the customer service issue which judging by some of these other reviews, is more prevalent than they think. That email was sent on November 9, so it's literally been a week and I've heard nothing back. Maybe Yelp's what they check to and respond to the most. But it was easy to reach them before when we were emailing so I don't know why it would take so long this time around. Either they ignore customer complaints not made in person or posted to Yelp, or their system of responding is inefficient and needs work. Either way, I think I won't waste my time at the Union location anymore. The workers are unhappy with the drive through situation and are taking it out on customers. A lose, lose all around. I know that chick-fil-a has a reputation for being the healthiest and most delicious "fast-food" locations to go to. I ordered a basic chicken sandwich and the chicken was so good. The chick-fil-a sauce was amazing as well. Definitely make sure you try that. When I went, it looked like the wait time would have me waiting forever but they have people who come outside and take your orders. It made the line go by super quick. The service was decent and the ambience is about what he would expect from a fast food chain. The food however was really subpar. I tried another Chick-fil-A up Route 22 yesterday. It was definitely better than the one in Union, but here's the big thing. I used to get Chick-fil-A in Atlanta around 1980. What they're producing now is nowhere near the quality of what they produced then. The grilled chicken sandwich is nothing special at all and it is not big enough to even be called a meal. I think they're using a smaller piece of chicken then they did in the '80s. You might expect that as a business gets bigger, but when the sandwich is so small and the piece of meat is so small that it really doesn't fill you up, that's a problem. I'm not a big guy. The place in Union gave me a sandwich in which the chicken was a little overdone and dried out. Overall however, meaning for both of the Chick-fil-A's that I visited, I can say that I wouldn't go back. As I said, nothing special, nothing satisfying, and definitely not worth the trip. read more

This place is conveniently located on route 22. This place can be a pain in the ass to get to from my work because its a on route 22 :P During lunch time the parking can be full and the drive thru is backed up. The food is consistently good. About two weeks ago, I went to Chick-fil-A in Union, NJ. Purchased the spicy chicken sandwich and a milk shake. First and foremost, the milk shake took a long time to make since there were several employees talking and laughing. After eating the sandwich, some of the milkshake, when I got home my stomach was hurting so bad, I started throwing up and threw up all night. I had to call 911 and was taken to the ER. Diagnosed with food poisoning. I was so sick that I spent overnight in the ER and was scheduled to travel overseas a couple of days after this incident, I had to cancel my trip. I contacted Chick-fil-A about a week after to notify them, left several messages, spoke to two different employees and left messages to have their manager contact me. As of today, no response. Came here for lunch and just had a very positive experience. I had to bring groceries in so that they wouldn't spoil in a hot car, and accidentally dropped everything in the Chick-fil-A lobby. The employees were prompt to clean and so kind about my clumsiness. I wish there were more Chick-fil-As in New Jersey.
