The food was mediocre, the drinks were watery, the portions were quite small. Apparently they don't understand what happy hour is. The chicken was cooked on the grill--which I love--because it really brings out the flavor in jerk chicken. I also requested my jerk sauce on the side since I prefer a dry rub style over a saucy one. The only drawback was the small bone pieces in the chicken and rice. That's something to be cautious about, especially if a child is eating the meal. The plantains were also inconsistent--some pieces were hard, while others were mushy. On the bright side, the coco bread was perfect and the Jamaican rum cake was phenomenal. Whoever baked that cake clearly took their time soaking it in rum. It reminded me of the way my grandmother used to make it--absolutely delicious. I would definitely order the rum cake again.

I didn't realize until coming home and looking at a photo of the menu that it came with slaw. I did ask for the tartar sauce. The fish was bland and needed seasoning or at least salt and pepper, which I asked for. I did like the batter which was crispy. I am not sure why other reviewers raved about the fish. Could it be a new cook? The rosemary parmesan fries had good flavor, but were too soggy. If they were cooked longer and came out crispy, they would have had potential.
