The chicken is Halal, so I never have to sit there wondering, "Is this even real chicken?" Issac's Poultry Market is one of my favorite places to patronize when I haven't taken time to prepare my lunch or I don't feel like cooking dinner. I've had great experiences ordering directly in the restaurant and on the Toast app. The staff is always friendly and accommodating. When I stop in for lunch, I'm usually in between meetings. They have an efficient process so I'm in and out quickly. The restaurant is spacious and clean. There's also an outdoor eating area that I haven't taken advantage of yet. When I'm there, folks are enjoying their food and their conversations. I've ordered their chicken sandwich, chicken wings, chicken tenders, and french fries. I had forgotten that I've tried their Burtonsville location and popped my here for lunch, drawn by the "best chicken sandwich" sign. Naturally, I ordered the chicken sandwich. Everything is a la carte here. The sandwich comes with no sides, no drink, nothing. This makes it a fairly expensive buy. It came out in a cardboard clamshell, even though I was eating there, and it's literally just a chicken piece slathered with pickles and honey sauce between two slices of toasted bread. It's okay, but only just, and I'll left feeling like I've eaten at some sort of industrialized institution, not a local restaurant. They have delish chicken tenders and fries. I could honestly come back just for that alone. Super juicy, meaty chicken on every tender, love that. I got the buffalo and it was super flavorful with that nice buffalo zing. I bet the honey butter sauce on the tenders would be bomb too. Not the biggest fan of their chicken sandwiches though. If you're a slow eater, think twice because the bottom toasted potato bread gets soggy from the sauce + heat, and it becomes a mess if you don't eat it fast while it's still held up by the bread. If you do still prefer sandwiches, I'd recommend the Honey Butter Sandwich over the Isaac Sandwich. The honey butter one was way more flavorful and not dry. The broccoli slaw on the Isaac Sandwich was kinda bland and the meat wasn't anything crazy. I liked how the honey butter soaked into the chicken more -- made it more enjoyable. Chicken was sometimes stringy? Tough to take a bite out of maybe because of the outer layer of the breast, not too sure? Fries were nice and crispy. Also tried the mac n cheese, very cheesy and soft. Fabulous, moist chicken for a great price! I came in on a Thursday around 12:30 and it wasn't very busy! If it was warmer, I would have sat outside on their lovely patio. I ordered the 3 chicken strips with buffalo sauce and it was perfect amount for just me. The fries looked good so I'll try them next time! Delmy was awesome! She helped me at the counter and then brought out my meal with two sauces (blackened ranch and blue cheese) which she explained worked well with the buffalo sauce. Such a lovely touch! And she was right! Then she came to check on me (and the other patrons). And then she came at the end of my meal to pick up my 'clean plate'. Came here because we heard the chicken sandwiches were really good. Got a chicken sandwich and the bread pudding. Chicken sandwich was okay in my opinion; the chicken was on the drier side and there was nothing special about it. I thought maybe it was a one off so I did get it again another time but maybe it just isn't my cup of tea. I don't think it's bad, I just don't think I would go out of my way to get it. Honestly would try it a third time because maybe I just got unlucky twice. The bread pudding here is excellent though. It's very moist and flavorful and it goes well with the white sauce they lather on top. If you come here, definitely try the bread pudding! Saw very high reviews of Isaac's poultry market online so since I was in the area, I decided to visit. I came in around noon on a Wednesday and it was empty. The person working took my order immediately and everyone working there was incredibly nice. The space is really open and airy, with plenty of seating indoors. I got my sandwich and mac & cheese within 5 min. The sandwich was very good, dropping with honey, and chicken was crispy and well cooked, though maybe a touch too tough in some places. The vibe was relaxed and welcoming (not loud or chaotic), and the service was genuinely great--friendly, attentive, and on top of things without hovering. The staff was very, very kind and helpful in answering my questions about the menu. There's plenty of seating if you wanna dine in in the bathrooms were clean. I got three tenders with a side of fries. Three tenders comes with two sauces and the fries comes with Isaac sauce so I was able to try a couple of different ones. The tenders and the fries were hot and crispy. My tenders were nice and juicy as well as well seasoned. Tonight was my second time there after enjoying my initial visit with a very kind and informative gentlemen working the front of the restaurant who suggested that I come back and try their new sesame chicken sandwich. I came in today and walked up the front register and ordered the said chicken sandwich recommended to me by the staff here during my first visit along with a small fry and proceeded to ask for some ketchup packets or a small ramkin/container/dollap of ketchup. I was promptly told that I would be charged extra if I wanted any ketchup?? And that the sandwich comes with their fry sauce already. The front register lady this time said that I NEED to choose between their sauce for the fries or ketchup I guess I must have underestimated how bad the economy is currently or overestimated how well this self proclaimed "Best Chicken Sandwich in Maryland" place is doing that requires this level of recuperation for any and all costs, even a few grams worth of ketchup The icing on the cake was when the front desk lady brought out my fries and sandwich on their tray, she literally proceeded to grab my fries from the tray and looked at me expecting me to take it from her hand. I asked her why she was handing me my food item by item instead of just giving me the tray with all the food on it. She told me I am not allowed to have the tray and the food must be taken off the tray and if I was to dine in I need to eat it off the table. We love this place and have been going since right after they opened. The chicken tenders are amazing and always juicy. I get those or the chicken salad sandwich which I love. They toast the bread and one time it came out greasy like a Ruben so I had them remake it. Since then, I tell them I don't want the bread toasted and then it is exactly how I like it. The fries are amazing with salt and pepper on them. This place is not cheap. Today we went and got two chicken salad sandwiches with one small and one large fry. The bill was over $40, which of why I only come one every few months. I have never tried the sandwich that got them famous and may try that next time. read more

I appreciate Isaacs and will recommend their fried chicken tenders/wings to friends. I usually get the honey butter or buffalo flavor. I appreciate the crispiness of the honey-butter wings. Buffalo isn't crispy because it is drenched in the sauce which I'm okay with. I usually enjoy dipping my chicken in the blackened ranch. I've tried several of their appetizers and desserts as well. Their fries, mac and cheese, and street corn salad are my go-to's. I love how crispy and well-seasoned the fries are. The mac and cheese is super peppery which gives it a nice kick. On the other hand, the brussel sprouts are overcooked and soggy. Some parts were more burnt than I liked. Dessert-wise, I enjoy their banana custard. I would give this 5 stars if the chicken flavors tasted more consistent, especially their honey butter chicken. They were still kind of small. So what you got most of was honey butter sauce. There wasn't much chicken there. But they were served with a few pickles, and pickled carrots, and they were really good...and you needed them to cut the richness of all that honey butter sauce. My nephew ordered the chicken sandwich... with honey butter sauce. He said it was "ojay" but really messy. But the sides! I got a very fresh and tasty side salad with tomatoes, cukes, and onions...really fresh and delicious. The French fries were nice and crispy, and the Mac and cheese was out of this world! My last visit I used a delivery app but am familiar with the in person experience and menu based on previously in store visits. I tried a previously purchased item (sandwich) and thought it was ok. I enjoyed the broccoli slaw on top of the fried chicken. In my mind this is a good balance of healthy ;) This day my chicken was "tough" and hard to chew. The flavor came from the slaw, buttered bread, and mustard dressing. I thought the chicken wasn't great just ok. I also ordered 6 whole honey wings to take home for dinner. The wings were small in size but I was told they were great after a few minutes in the air fryer and the pickles on the side yummy. I've been Isaac's multiple times now and feel qualified to talk about their menu. Their sides are one of the best things. Their mac and cheese is the ultimate comfort food - so creamy, cheesy, hot and delicious. The vegetable medley is light and refreshing. The mushrooms are also really good. The potato salad is a bit bland. Their whole chicken is tasty but too salty so I won't get it anymore which is why I give it just 4 stars. However, their sandwiches are delicious. The one with bacon is the best chicken sandwich I have ever had. I also really like their cobb salad and chop salad with grilled chicken. It's one of my favorite dinners. They have great sauces for dipping the chicken and also for the salads. Try them all to see which you like best. I like them all. read more

I came here with my husband for a midweek lunch. I got the Isaac chicken sandwich and he got the same but as a bowl (this consists of no bread and the chopped chicken on top of crispy fries. Both were very good! Chicken sandwich was average size for lunch, the bowl was huge. We got a side of blackened ranch, which was great with the fries. The chicken was definitely tasty. Tuesday 12/26/2023 This spot was initially brought to my attention when I had found that they had won a 2023 best chicken sandwich contest so I had to experience it for myself. I made a takeout order (with DoorDash) and got 9x whole wings honey butter $14.15, small fries $5.49, small Mac n cheese $5.49, and the honey butter chicken sandwich $13. I was also able to try many of their sauces: Issac sauce, honey mustard, bbq, mumboish, and ranch. The honey butter chicken sandwich was decent but failed to live up to the "best chicken sandwich" label + it's overpriced. The French fries were solid: very crispy with a chip like texture but I do wish they were more potato like. The Mac n cheese was just okay, it reminded me of velveeta Mac n cheese with the texture and taste. The whole wings were smaller than I expected but 9x WHOLE wings for $14.15 isn't a bad deal. Also the honey butter on the wings were pretty good. Out of all the sauces I tried, the Issac sauce was definitely my favorite, it reminded me of a chick fil a type of sauce. If I was ranking the sauces in order I'd say: Issac sauce first, honey mustard second, bbq third, mumboish fourth, and ranch last. Overall, the chicken sandwich did not live up to the hype and the sides were a little to be desired but the whole honey butter chicken wings were solid for the most part. read more

It's hard to hit a crazy high bar, given the accolades. This didn't get all the way there for me, but it was pretty tasty. I preferred the honey butter sandwich, but both that and the Isaac were good. As you expect, honey butter is a little sweet and it does make the bread a little soggy, but the chicken was nice and crispy. My daughter liked the wings, which were a good size, crispy and flavorful. The small fry was perfect for us to share, given the filling chicken. They were a really nice texture and flavor is good. A better than average fries, but not a favorite that I will crave. Prices are reasonable and food came out pretty quickly. The interior is like you expect for quick service; pretty basic but modern. We were a window seat, which has view of cars going by. Manager or owner came by to see how everything was and I always appreciate that effort and oversight. read more

Inside, you order at the counter and there's a big open space with long tables with plenty of seats. Soon, our orders were ready - in addition to the Isaac Chicken Sandwich, we also got some wings, sides of tomato & cucumber salad, corn salad, mac & cheese, and a bowl of chicken bites. I was impressed with their beverage selection, too. Everything tasted as expected, but the real star was the Isaac Chicken Sandwich. Isaac's is a welcomed addition to the Shops at Potomac Valley. They offer chicken (whole, half, quarter, wings, and tenders), sandwiches, salads, and sides (fried, mac and cheese, corn salad, etc.), dessert (fudge and rice crispy treats), and beverages (mainly canned). Definitely take a look at the menu before you arrive, if possible. Although the menu isn't too large, everything sounds so good! Order up front and your food is brought to your table. I finally decided on the honey butter chicken sandwich with a small mac and cheese and an unsweetened iced tea (one of three beverages made fresh). The honey butter chicken sandwich looked so good, but was just okay. The fried chicken breast was tender and a decent size. You could tell it was dipped in their house-made honey butter, but the bottom of the container was drenched in it making the bottom piece of my sandwich soggy. Not sure if the pickle slices added anything to the sandwich, but appreciated the extra crunch. The mac and cheese was also okay. It was made with five cheeses, but was seasoned with something overwhelming (but I couldn't figure it out). Luckily my iced tea was refreshing! At almost $20 for an okay meal, I'm not sure if I'd frequent Isaac's. I would be interested in trying their wings and Buffalo sandwich, though, so may be back. read more

I love the cute space they have here. Big open restaurant with a bright large simple menu and lots of seating. I had lunch here and got six honey butter wings, fries and the street corn. It was about $20. I really like the crispy crunchy and incredibly messy honey butter wings with mumbo sauce. They sat in their own pool of honey butter at the bottom of the container. The fries were thick and spiced steak fries, also quite good. I took one bite of the street corn. It was bad. Hard cold not even remotely sweet corn with barely any sauce or cheese. This is a miss. Went to Isaac's for lunch today and had a great experience. I ordered the Isaac's sandwich and my husband got the Honey butter and we split a large order of fries. The fries are hands down yummy. It seemed like too much but we kept eating them as they were that good. After we were served our food someone came by and asked if we would like sauce to eat our food with and brought us a variety of different sauces. They were honey mustard, some sort of fancy ranch, a Buffalo type sauce and ketchup. Our sandwiches were good as well. The Isaac's was delicious especially with the broccoli slaw. The ambience was nice. I liked how open it was and the big windows made for natural lighting. I can imagine how nice it would be to sit outside when weather warms up.
