I ordered a four piece combo and a two piece fish fillet combo. I live 30 minutes away. When I got home and started eating my chicken combo, I noticed there was discoloration on the bottom of the roll. I assumed it was from the pan, but when I took a bite, it was clearly molded. It tasted like mold when I turned my lights on and looked at it. It's blue tinged not black. I called to give them a heads up to look at the other rolls, but they blew me off and told me there was no way that it could be mold and that it was from the pan. It's mold, it tastes like mold, smells like mold, looks like mold, it's mold. I ripped the bottom of the roll off after I took a bite. The chicken and mashed potatoes were good, my favorite, part is usually the role, but not this time. I'm almost 40, I know what mold taste like. read more

Ordered a 25 piece with two family sides had to pay extra for sides because they said they change the menu were you only get one side. I asked for green beans mashed potatoes and a large side of corn nuggets they filled the large green beans halfway for the large mashed potatoes halfway also. The owner needs to change the menu on the Drive-through first. before they tell people they only give one side now. because it's false advertisement. How hard is it to take someone's order? Especially after your sharp edged door tore a hole in my brand new shoes and it swings open too quickly. Seriously fix your door if someone was wearing sandals they would have a gash. The weather strip is bent and protruding. I shouldn't have to have your employees look at me multiple times without taking an order. I'm not impatient your service is terrible. I guarantee the owner won't even respond to this because they don't care obviously. What's even more pathetic is I know the employees will find an excuse to put the blame on me, just like they kept looking around on who was going to take initiative with the order. Normally I give more stars and stellar reviews however today at this Chicken Express in Midlothian things didn't go well. My husband went inside for several bags of tea and ice! The young man who took the order was great. There was another guy helping the young ladies at the window. The cashier asked the guy to fill bags of ice. Why does his rude behind tell the cashier "That's not my job bro!" It was rude to say that to his co-worker let alone in front of the customer! He didn't want to make the ice bag(s). Very disappointed in this establishment and the people who they have hired to work there. My innocent grandma went in because her order was incorrect, and the manager working there cussed her out and screamed at her for a good 5 minutes. She left bawling her eyes out. It was quite inspiring to visit a location in Dallas, as this is the home of Chicken Express, and the official partner of the Texas Rangers! Everything is good to me but the highlight is the #1 or #2 with Mozzarella Sticks and Fries. DO NOT order dipping sauce for the chicken because the included gravy is there for that purpose. The food here is typical Chicken Express. My family loves the tenders with gravy, mashed potatoes, and corn nuggets. The family meals are a good value. I experienced a few issues with this location, specifically. First, they do not have specials here. We usually get a family meal, but the specials are great for when you are on your own for lunch, for example. Go to a different location if you want specials. Second, their employees aren't happy. The young lady at the register did not smile, did not greet us, and most of our interaction was not much beyond her grunting in acknowledgement of something I said. The employees in the back, clearly visible to the customers, were griping at each other. The management is definitely doing something wrong to have a store filled with unhappy employees. Lastly, this location does not take American Express. A lot of people, most of them not being AMEX customers, don't understand how this matters. I can tell you that it does, at least to me. It's unlikely my family of 6 will be back. There are plenty of other places to eat in town, and I drive past two other Chicken Express locations on my drive home from work in the evening. read more

Chicken E is a North Texas staple, providing hot chicken to people for a long time. It's pretty consistent and offers a solid experience for a fast food chicken joint. Let's star with the basics: Fried chicken: The crust is solid. It's crispy but not too thick. Sometimes it's a bit oily and if you get a batch that has been sitting under the lamp for too long sometimes it can be a by dried out. Chicken Tenders: For the most part these are pretty good. Sometimes the chicken is fatty or chewy because it's overdone but this is rare. The tenders are hand battered and cooked in quality oil. I enjoy them thoroughly. Mashed Potatoes: These are kind of meh. They are sometimes really dry or really watery. I wish they were more consistently good. French Fries: Depending on your taste, you either love or hate these. They are not crinkle cut. They are the thin, battered fries. They are typically pretty oily and sometimes are super soggy and sometimes super crispy. Depends on the time of day and if you get them right after they are out of the deep fryer. Other Sides: Their other sides are hit or miss and range from green beans and macaroni to fries jalapeño poppers and sweet corn bites. The service is usually ok. It can get a bit crowded in the evening and the drive through can be a pain in the ass. Also, they don't take Discover card. All in all, Chicken E is pretty good. I'm more of a Bush's guy but in a pinch Chicken E will do. read more
